If the SU-85M is redesigned for the 3 BR, it will regularly hit the 2 BR. What Japanese 2 BR tank could give it a decent fight?
This thing will simply become another tool for destroying newcomers.

The Su-85M is stuck in the same boat as the KV-1 Zis, too good for BR3 but not good enough for BR4. I think an Su-85 would definitely be BR3 material, just like the Jagdpanzer IV
Same as BR 2 japanese when gets uptiered to BR 3 and faces KV-1.
Get Ho-Ni 3 and pray that Soviet players who drives KV-1 are actually clueless and doesn’t angle at all. 
But seriously tho like i said earlier, SU-85M will be actually, much easier to kill than KV-1 since SU-85M cannot angle due to the lack of turret and weakpoints. People are so scared of sloped 75mm alone but the fact that even when you are fighting KV-1, you have to aim for the turret and only very specific part of it’s turret as well(So basically aiming for the weakpoints) since going for the hull is big no no when KV-1 is angling.
You’re pretending the su85m only has the amount of armor that the kv 1 does buddy. Use ur noggin.

Only if you can’t aim and just blindly fires at it’s sloped part of armor 
Su85m has 75mm of armor slanted at 30 degrees which depending on the round it’s facing can be the equivalent of around 135-170mm of armor depending on the round type it’s facing. when faced directly head on. Angle it right and that goes up. Kv1 has flat spots located on its turret and front hull. Not to mention the lower front plate and driver port. Even without these it still has less equivalent armor than the su85m.
Do your research next time before talking about shit you don’t know about. There’s a reason the kv85 has the same br as this in wt despite having a turret. An is1 turret at that.

Oh wow man that’s such excellent logic the su85m has one small weak spot while the kv has 4 different weak spots. Each turret cheek the driver port and the lower front plate.
Speaking of research.
Any players with right mind will always angle their KV like these. You simply don’t try to hit the KV on the hull when they angle like this. Same as you don’t go for the hull when Tiger 1 is angling unless you have a really good gun right.
And let’s look into the KV-1’s turret armor profile. You have to aim for these flat 75mm parts OR have to go for the gun shield which is quite risky because there’s an overlapped part.
So you have to go for these area only if you are going for the gun shield.
Now let’s look into the armor profile of SU-85M. These are the weakpoints. Even BR 2 vehicles could penetrate these area. And you mentioned about SU-85M angling? Well, you clearly haven’t even used SU-85M before because you can’t really angle in SU-85M. Because it has an horizontal traverse angle that’s abysmally shit.
You see that? Yea that’s the maximum horizontal traverse angle for SU-85M right there.
Also, you don’t need to insult others just because they have different opinions than you. Try to calm yourself up.
1: heat doesn’t work on Cupula. What is Germany and japans most common br 2 tanks primary anti tank shell. (Not to mention pz3n)
2: the port is massively misleadly. Maybe give some numbers instead of “look at pretty colors that are purely comparative”.
3: did u just fully forgot what I told you about the lower front plate? If they’re using apcbc or heat they can still pen that just fine.

U haven’t brought up any numbers. You took screenshots of a model you didn’t understand. That color model is completely comparative. Regardless of how thick the armor actually is the thickest part of a tank will always be red. It also doesn’t take into account angles. So go back and get some actual numbers or keep quiet.
The reason I’m not is cuz I’m about to go to bed and I can’t be asked to pull up my computer to show one guy what’s obvious to the vast majority of people already here.

Cupola is the massive weakpoint being only 45mm without much sloping.
The driver’s hatch is 65.8mm but it’s still angled so quite protective.
Altho the lower part of it is completely vulnerable
45mm armor but steeply angled altho it’s still only 45mm and from what i have tested on it earlier, you could penetrate it with 75mm guns that you’d find on German BR2 & BR3 vehicles(Such as Panzer 4 F2/G and Marder 3s).

And ur not even taking into account volumetric which: makes the lower front plate extremely hard to hit, makes the lower part of that port not a possible shot, and makes the Cupula shot inconsistent as you have to aim high.

More so a call to action as you acted as tho cuz u couldn’t angle as much with the su85m that means it has worse armor which would follow that the su85m has a similar or same armor profile. Which it doesn’t. I’m sorry you feel like that was an insult tho
It isn’t that hard even with vulumetric armor system unless it’s really far.
Why should I believe you when you say that. What’s your hours on war thunder? Cuz the su85m ain’t exactly common in enlisted especially after the merge.
