So yea, I want to talk about SU-85M.
It’s casemate TD without any coaxial MG available to it and with 85mm main gun at BR 4, i don’t think this is an adequate BR for vehicle such as this one. Not much reason to use it over the other regular medium tanks such as T-34 85 or even heavy tank such as IS-1. Especially now that the premium Su-100 with better anti-tank capabilities on the same BR, BR4.
My suggestion is that as the title suggests, change SU-85M’s BR from BR 4 to BR 3. My reasonings are, while sloped 75mm frontal Armor is good(Even then there’s a few weakpoints here and there where the armors are thinner, such as the driver’s hatch etc), it’s not good enough at BR 4 for withstanding shots from Panther’s 75mm or Tiger 1’s 88mm even at range. So it doesn’t have much armor advantages against the same BR tanks that it would faces. Also the gun isn’t good enough. While 85mm is perfectly serviceable, it’s not particularily good considering that the SU-85M being casemated TD without coaxial MG, unlike SU-100 where at least it could destroy tanks that it would faces frontally that’s above it’s BR such as Tiger 2(H).
German BR 3 tanks definitely can penetrate it frontally, in fact multiple of them.
Yep. But we don’t have SU-85 in Enlisted currently so might as well make this one BR 3 for now. I think it’d be fine if we also make Jagdpanzer 4(with short 75mm gun, not the long one) from BR 4 to BR 3 while at it since that one is also inadequately placed on BR 4 imo.
All shots are made with Panzer 4 G. There are multiple vehicles with even better guns than Panzer 4 G in the BR 3. If you use those same TD type of vehicles you should have no problem killing it even at range. I mean, if casemated TD without MG and it’s only excels at killing other tanks frontally(That’s the whole point of it’s existence really)would scares off you all so much then i don’t know what to say.
Using Panzer IV never justifies anything since Panzer IV has BR1/2 armour and BR4 cannon.
Try the same with a tank that has BR3 cannon like M4A2 sherman or T-34 41
SU-85M has BR4/5 armour and BR4 cannon, its logical BR is BR4 even with TD downsides.
No because it would be too strong for BR 1-3 tanks; it’s like putting the Panzer IV 70/A in those BR tanks—it would be impenetrable and have good penetration capability.
And the King Tiger is too powerful for BR 1-5. Does this mean it should be removed from the game? Or move it to BR 6, where Germans will be fighting against Germans.
It’s good that BR 2 Japanese tanks can now easily handle the KV-1.
BR 6 should be exclusive to Soviets with fantasy weapons. The Tiger 2H already has its counterparts and they’re still complaining, so you and your Soviet fanatic are lacking.Skill and intelligence to overcome the problem

Just like the Panzer IV 70(A) has nothing to do with the topic. Just as BR 1-2 is irrelevant to the topic, since we are talking about the SU-85M at BR 3. In this case, the Soviets have the KV-1 and KV-2 at BR 3, which also have 75mm of armor. But because of this armor, the SU-85M should be at BR 4. And no, the sloped armor doesn’t play any role here.
And objectively, Jagdpanzers have no business being at the same BR as the Ferdinand; the whole lot of them should be at BR 3, just like the Hellcat, the KV-1 (ZiS-5), and the SU-85.
Sorry but I get this feeling that some of you guys are so encaptured by this “insert my favorite faction must have all the good things” or “insert the faction i hate the most must not have any good stuff as they are already too good” thingy. Please stop doing that and think about this objectively for once.
Ask yourself a question that “would i even going to use SU-85M even if it becomes BR 3 over KV-1?” answer it honestly without any hidden agenda/motivation behind it please. If i were to guess, probably many of you guys will have a hard time choosing between them because the downside of SU-85M is very apparent and severe(Same applies for every casemated vehicles without MG and inadequate BR, regardless of it’s factions really). And i bet that many of you didn’t even bother to try to use SU-85M on BR 4 because it’s really bad, i mean let’s be honest here. Having no coaxial MG and turret in Enlisted is a big big disadvantage unless it has a really good gun for it’s BR which SU-85M doesn’t have.
Honeslty, no. It’s br4 armor and a br4 cannon, the problem isn’t its BR, it’s its location in the tech tree.
This thing should be the first unlock at BR4 if it’s gonna be anywhere, the use case should be “I have to grind through this thing to get to the better T-34-85 tanks” until/unless we get the bigger/longer battles that would make TDs more worth playing.
In this game BR4 = BR5. Practically always. Question: is the SU-85 equivalent equipment for confronting BR5?
It’s exactly in this way that the choice emerges — a convenient, effective machine that can do anything, or an inconvenient, situational, highly specialized casemate tank destroyer with a good gun and protection.
On 4 BR, it makes no sense at all. Why would you take an already mediocre T-34-85, but without a turret? It can’t roll out frontally against a Tiger/Panther and survive it. At 3 BR, such a possibility isn’t guaranteed, but it appears — which makes it much more interesting.
