Post pen damage is the real issue - a good KV1 player will either angle or hide his lower parts.
Shooting a KV1 turret deals no significant damage even after penetration.
On Warthunder, nope. Only the normal SU-85(Actually i checked and i did play SU-85M a lot but only in the arcade mode so 
). In enlisted, like 10 games with it and ditched it since it was horrendous.

Assuming ur talking about heat: Cupula shots on su85m deal even less damage with no potential for lethality.
Yeah normal su 85 is a lotta fun. Su85m has good enough armor to reliably deflect American 76 and deflect Tiger shots when angled right. So yes the armor is quite good. Now I have to ask you this tho. While su85m is contentious, would u not be alright with the su85 at br 3 instead?

Yeah SU85M is stupid on BR3, but again, regular SU85 in BR3 would be fun.

I’d be perfectly fine with SU-85 being at BR 3 instead ofc. That would be the ideal solution but the issue here is that we don’t have SU-85 in enlisted yet and there’s no promise that Darkflow will ever be add it as well. So i asked SU-85M to become BR 3 which imo i still think it would be okay. It’s a TD will fill only the niche roles and will never become a major vehicle that everyone uses on BR 3 unlike KV-1/T-34.
But i can understand that people don’t want another relatively well protected vehicle on BR 3 for Soviet.
