As far as I’ve read, the Johnson’s magazine took 25 rounds, not just 20. It has the lowest mag count out of all the br4 machine guns. Another buff that would make the Johnson more suitable for br4 is to take away its dispersion penalty while moving and shooting just how the tkb-264 and the rd44 are and to match the Johnson’s dispersion to those 2 weapons
Increase its mag capacity to 25

Remove its moving shot dispersion penalty and match it and to change its overall dispersion to work like the TKB-264 and the RD-44
Wait doesn’t the Johnson MG already have 25 rounds?
Can you provide a photo then because I probably don’t know which Johnson then
Most people say it was 20, IMO it would be far more useful lowering the rof to a HA 600 (from 950 currently) and dropping it to BR2.

Sorry to inform you mate, but the mag could only fit 20 rounds. Some sources state the weapon could be loaded with up to 25 rounds, but it was because the weapon could admit a 5 round clip in the reciever at the opposite side of the weapon besides from the magazine.
It’s more like a BR III weapon trapped in BR IV for balance. If we give it more recoil control, it would be a worse select fire, if we give it 5 more rounds it would be innacurate.

I second this. The poor sights, low magazine count and maybe lower the accuracy and we have a good contender for BR II. We’ve been wanting a BR II MG for the Americans for a long time and since Devs won’t downtier a BAR, maybe they’ll downtier the Johnson instead.

My biggest complaint is the gun sight. Let the player fold the gun sight down as an option.

I’m a fan of its rate of fire currently, just give it a different reload where you add both the additional clip and the 20 round mag in the gun to give it 25 rounds and to give it RD-44-like accuracy and dispersion.

Uhh, I believe only the 1944 version has the higher rate of fire historically, and I won’t vote yes to add 5 magic bullets to the gun

Not magic bullets, I was insisting an optional clip reload on top of the standard mag reload, but you press rt to stop the reload before putting the clip in (of course once you press the shoot button, it would pull the charging handle instead)

Looks like the 1941 version(TT version in Enlisted)had a quite low historical RoF of beteween 450-550 average. Reduce the RoF and bring it down to BR 2 with some stats adjustment(preferably similar as BR 2 Lahti-Saloranta M/26)would be a good idea i think. As for 1944 version, apparently it had RoF between 600-700 RoF so reduce the RoF and bring it down to BR 3 would do. Another sidegrade of BAR on BR 3 i suppose.

Looks like the 44e1 variant was capable of firing at 900 rpm

I forgot that which version was the Johnson 1944 we got thru the event a while ago. I guess it’s 1944E1 version then? In this case, i think 1944E1 should stay on BR 4 but with a reload speed buff. Same reload speed as BAR on BR 3 would do as Johnson LMG reloads slower than BAR rn. Maybe a better moving dispersion as well.

I’d say give the 44e1 better dispersion (removing the moving and shooting penalty). And yeah I agree with the regular Johnson being br3 with a slower rpm. I wouldn’t like it having the same sound though since it’d feel and sound weak in that case. And they should make the 44e1 a TT gun (yeah i get it’s a prototype that never got used but look at the history of the T20)

Why not add said 44e1 for BR4 with the high rof and rework the current one by lowering the rof to 600 to be BR2.

Not many people want to buff their Johsnon.

Just make it BR3 and add the 40rd BAR as BRIV LMG.
