I know its just a renamed SRCM, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring it back for historical reasons.
For those who don’t know, Handgranate 238(i) was the German name for the Italian SRCM Impact grenade. I was removed a while back for seemingly no reason.
Seemingly no reason? It was a duplicate of an already existing grenade. Its just going to make reddit users make posts on “omg whats the difference between these two grenades?” over and over again
One was german one was italian. If players can’t notice that difference or simply look them up and find it out then let them… no reason for their incompetence to be a reason we can’t have flexible loadouts for nations
People will also ask what’s the difference between regular and premium P51 and there are many such cases. Don’t understand why you think it’s a good idea to pamper for it.
At best this got annoying when using the preset feature.
Or, and I’m just spitballing here, they could just have the SRCM name when used by an Italian squad and 238 (i) when used in a German squad, most shared weapons/equipment could be like that and instead they could add the Eihandgranate and fill in the sorely missing historical gap there.
BOTH WERE ITALIAN. One had the Italian designation and the other was the German designation. It was still the exact same Italian grenade in either case
Technically Germany had no impact grenade but the red fuse is a 1 second delay so I said in my Grenade Post that this egg grenade could fulfill the gap. Maybe let’s say it just malfunctions when you throw it and the fuse got loose when it hit a wall
Considered going to check on that after i made the comment however i didn’t… more so speaking for people who like to have nation accurate loadouts for example if you can have the german designation i’m sure some people would rather choose that
Quite ironic how in another post i pointed out the correlation between those want body armor or X balancing change are just against simple QOL or choice like this.

Because its completely pointless to have two identical copies of the exact same grenade with different names. It is unnecessary bloat and menu clutter.
Why do I have to point out something so stupidly obvious? This has nothing to do with quality of life, a different name on a weapon isn’t quality of life at all, it makes zero impact on the game or the user experience.
User experience? I’d consider giving players a specific choice for their Italian or german lineups if they want to use an impact grenades catering to exactly that…
Wrong. One point is as i’ll repeat throughout this catering to people who like to give their squads equipment for their respective nation… yes they could just use potatoe masher but that is besides the point. what if they want to use impact grenade… they had a choice.
Menu bloat? Hm. I mean there are three variations of the italian impact grenade so i understand your point… however in such case then the mills grenade or mk 2 must be removed
Now you will have no choice for your british guys if you want to give them a british grenade.

To note this is on a different level as this one as you say is just a german designation but it’s the same concept… same grenade but for roleplaying purposes.
So i must ask now are you favor of removing the mills grenade… and all other equipment that is a duplicate simply because they are just the same? It’s no different than a name. it’s the intent behind it.

True. Pulled that wording out of my ass but i’ll repeat it’s catering to people who like to roleplay and or give their squads the respective nations equipment.
this game should not waste development resources catering to people who want to roleplay because this game is not designed for roleplay, historical accuracy, or any other flavor of military simulation. It’s a casual arcade shooter with a vague WW2 flavor for people to just boot up on their consoles and cause some explosions and thats it, really
I want developers to focus on fixing bugs and not “how do we help people RP?”
I’m really not sure how you expect to have a good roleplay experience in a WW2 game with chinese volunteers fighting in africa or stalingrad
The devs took careful note from real life squadrons to make the ones we use today… along with inspired BP soldiers of irl ones.
And also i point to the mills grenade again. We don’t need to roleplay. Who cares about the british, its menu bloat.
Convenient you ignore that as your entire argument crumbles… Menu bloat? Haha. Check all the duplicate equipment left in the shop JUST so you can have a choice for which nation you pick (granted this is leftover from pre merge)

This is true. However again the squads all have real life counterparts which show the devs actually took care when making them… despite what you say i take pride in my premium units and honor (or really dishonor) the memories of the soldiers you actually served in said unit by using their names… if that’s not roleplaying ha… i don’t know what is.

BP Soldiers? Like Tommy Prince? The developers literally depict him as a white man instead of his Indigenous ancestry. It’s a disgrace how the developers honor the memory of real war heroes
