Address the "Hino-Komuro rifle" existence controversy

Let me start with some basic questions:

  1. Should we add weapons that have no historical records of existing at all?
  2. Should we add weapons that aren’t proven to have existed during WW2?
  3. If you answered “yes” above, what do you think stops us from getting “MegaBlaster 1945” with 700 rounds and a red dot sight?

Based on the research by several forum members, such as @Hanxi_Channel @_DELAVR @Killerwolf1024 and others, the “Hino Komuro” rifle is fake.

Poll - what should be done with the “Hino Komuro”?

  • Replace it with any other weapon that existed
  • Delete it and compensate players with silver/other weapons
  • Do nothing, I like fake weapons

Alternatively, any Dev/CM/helper is more than welcome to provide some sort of evidence of its existence during WW2 and I can start using the gun myself ingame.

If the gold orders had been preserved, it would be possible to compensate for the Hino rifle with them, but now I can barely imagine how it can be compensated for.

I think to start, the description of the rifle could include a note about the weapon’s non-historically accurate appearance in the game.

I bet there are a big amount of prototype guns in this game that actually never worked to begin with.

Yes its fake, but for a real WW2 history fan, seeing anything other than Arisakas for Japan would be practically fake already.

Replace it or keep it, it doesn’t make Japanese firearms more authentic anyways.

Even though I personally dislike prototypes as widespread as they are in Enlisted, there’s still a bit of charm to them, 1930-40s technology and style.

Meanwhile, completely fake/modern reproductions such as the Hino seemingly is, they just blur the lines between WW2 era tech and “MegaBlaster 1945”.

There’s no controversy in the first place.

I suppose you have evidence it’s a WW2 era weapon and not a modern reimagining if you say that.

Or your claim has no substance?

you suggest to replace it, but you dont offer any suggestions on what it should be replaced with

To be honest, no, fake guns should probably not be in the game, and IMOP guns that were never actually used in WW2 should not be in the game as well. Two examples I can think of are the Winchester 1866 rifle and 1877 Shotgun. Neither were used in either WW1 or WW2, and the Winchester 1866 was used by the Indians against Custer 7th Calvary in the battle of Little Big Horn. :joy: There are probably other guns that never shot a round in WW2 in the game, however Gaijin plays pretty loose with reality, so IMOP, whether fake or real, if it was not in the war it should not be part of the game. However, pandora’s box was opened by Gaijin a long time ago, so, rock on, it’s too late to worry about it now.

My opinion is to replace it. I searched Japanese search engines and found no information about the Hino rifle; I guess Japanese people don’t even know this weapon exists.

Regarding the replacement, I can offer this plan.

Removing gold olders was the worst mistake possible tbh all because developers werent intelligent enough to include a free GO on the new BP and allow you to get one of those weapons

it was that hard?.. maybe for developers yes…

What weapon is this?

Translation as follows

I actually saw this content in a post on a Russian forum.

Watanabe, Semi-automatic rifle with 10 rounds and 6.5mm caliber

15 rounds magazine.

I wouldn’t mind them replacing it with a 20 round Type Hei, but it is a nice change of pace from the other rifles that Japan has.

I also think that it would be nice if the devs showed their sources with some of the weapons they include.

Ok, damn Google Translate

Im not a fan of fake weapons but realistically the devs would never remove or replace content. It would be waste of development time

If we wanted ww2 you have to cut if br5 which many would live and many would hate
Only a few like the stg44 were common enough and used in the manner of depiction.

STG44 wasn’t all that uncommon tho - FG42 on the other hand…
