Add this to the game (Finnish sub-faction)?

Additional information that I forgot to mention earlier in this sentence. In the game “Enlisted”, the German and Finnish (sub-factions) (Both factions will play on the same team) can be in the same battle, but only on certain maps that have been mentioned above.

I’m really not a big fan of copy and pasting equipment into other tech trees, tech trees should be for unique domestically produced weapons.

This is the highlight of subfractions. They can have some of their weapons, and some of the ones copied earlier, which will give players a new experience, a new gaming experience, as well as solve many problems. Besides, without such an addition, the idea of a subfraction cannot be realized. In addition, if the player does not want to pump the same weapons, he can safely stay on the main faction without touching the sub-faction. So I don’t see any problems.

Cool story bro.

Tell us about Finnish divisions at Stalingrad.

You can read it, I assume this site can be trusted (I apologize in advance for the link to the Russian-language site on the English Enlisted game forum)

What is this doing here? There are no records of BAR being used by Finland. It should be replaced with the DP-27 as it was extremely common and well liked by Finnish troops
image

Also you should add some Finnish mosins instead of Kar 98ks and Carcanos. Kar 98ks saw no widespread use and Carcanos were used exclusively by Anti aircraft crews. You should at least add M27, M28, M28-30 and M39 mosin.

I would also replace Fn m1930 and Madsen with Swedish KG M21 lmg

image

Opel Blitz should be replaced with a more common ford truck

For planes i would also add Brewster Buffalo, Morane Saulnier, Bf 109 and Hawker Hurricane maybe as premium

Along with SVT we should get Lahti-l36

For smgs Suomi-Korsu with stick mag would be interesting

Anyways i voted no since new factions/subfactions take lot of effort and we still haven’t even gotten proper British or Italian subfactions. We should prioritize fixing existing content before adding anything new

No mention of Finnish divisions at Stalingrad there.

If you wanna count ** volunteers, ** Rona and ** Cossacks should be fighting at Ardennes or attacking Rzhev too?

That is not a Finnish division. Those are german Jägers that are just using Finnish guns. Just like Orita m1941 squad that is not actually Romanian. Finnish troops never fought in Stalingrad, Rzhev or Moscow. You must be confusing these battles with siege of Leningrad where Finnish forces were present

Yes, I must have mixed up the geography a little. I’m sorry

Лахти L-36 — Википедия
So Lahti L-36 for 5 shots - 2 BR, Lahti L-36 for 15 shots - 3 BR?

Where was this mentioned? The wiki only said that Finnish soldier prefered AVS-36 with 15 round mag but nothing about Lahti l36 with 15 rounds. Also i agree that 5 round lahti would fit br 2 the best while svt-38 can stay in br 3

I’ll add a new message. Apparently I confused the M1918a2 with the FN Model D

Stack BOBKA is here

I think that the main issue here is that nearly 70% of the proposed tech tree is copy paste from other factions.
If we are realistic here, which we should be. Than Finland can only be a subfaction at best.

Finland even as a subfaction would take a lot of work.
First we would need at least one campaign in which Finnish soldiers historically fought in, than the voice lines and customization, all these are expensive and time consuming.

Meanwhile there are existing subfaction like France and potential subfactions that already have a campaign like Hungary or Siam should take priority.
These subfactions should get priority since they would also justify adding more weapons and vehicles to the game.

So ultimately, no matter how cool Finland would be, its just not a priority right now.

very legit site.
I especiatly like how finnish civil war is sort of highlighted on that part that there indeed was “white” civils fighting in karelia aka russia.

But conveniently the reason for such, the bolsheviks part in finnish civil war, arming the reds, bolshevik soldiers taking part in civil war is entirely forgotten.

But it seems like a legit mistake that it was conveniently forgotten.

The Finns have a good variety of infantry weapons; it would be difficult in the case of automatic and semi-automatic rifles, but there are options. Vehicles would be a whole other issue; at most, they’d have tanks that are suitable for BR4 and aren’t copies. What could be a problem is that many players probably won’t like certain weapon options without them being nerfed.

It’s not that I don’t wanna use different weapons, I just thinks it’s lazy and works against immersion for me to be playing as the Soviets and fighting against Germans using SVTs or BARs. I think the issue becomes especially prevalent when the copy and paste is the best option a faction gets, like the Ofenrohrs for the US and Japan or the M1 Bazooka for the Soviets at BR2.

There are enough domestic designs to make work sub-trees or full on tech trees for a few nations. Copy and pastes aren’t necessary in TTS, they should be reserved for events, premiums, and BP weapons.

Thank you for your post.

I fully support the idea ‘in principle.’

My concern is the details.

Now this is not meant to be unkind but did you write this using AI? Because its a tad hard to follow. If English is not your first language that’s okay.

Id like to see the various war thunder Finnish vehicles and aircraft in Enlisted.

Firstly, my understanding of a sub-faction is a faction within an existing faction. There is no need to unlock a certain level of progression.

The main point to me is the ability to equip Finnish uniforms and give them Finnish weapons.
Any Finnish weapons in the Euro Axis tech tree would have a Finnish squad attached to them.

But there would be no need for like a separate tree with Kar98k and Panzerfaust for example. Its just regular German tree and then under AT line there could be Lahti L39 and you unlock a Finnish anti tank squad.

In addition to that any German/Italian squad could be converted to a Finnish squad by pressing the Finnish flag and all uniforms and voicelines would swap. Then there would be customisation as usual for like ordinary uniform, snow camo etc.

Weapons:

As such, many of these ‘copy paste’ weapons are just plain unnecessary (remember you can still equip squads with any weapons from the tree so Finns could use Kar98 or MP40 or whatever)

I am not against copy paste, and agree that the combination of weapons can be interesting (eg. in War Thunder China tree allows the benefits of American and Soviet tanks likewise Sweden/Finland allows one to use a T34 and Panzer IV in the same lineup).

As for non-Axis weapons again I would remind you that this would be a part of the German tree. So there’s no need to try and fill BR III for example as BR III German weapons would already be available.

The question then becomes how necessary is a non-German or non-native Finnish weapon to the Finns? The game already has a ton of copy paste across trees (even in instances where it makes zero sense like the Ofrenrohr for USA and Japan, M2 carbine for Japan etc.)

I dont think the BARA2 is necessary. Madsen would be okay but youve already got German LMGs plus M/26 and FN model.
Boys rifle isnt necessary as you have L-39 however I think its fine to add to Axis tree if others think so, given that its hardly OP and the Germans wouldve captured a lot at Dunkirk and in North Africa anyway.

For the Soviet rifles Id ask for assistance from those more familiar with the Finnish army in WWII. How common was the Winchester and SVT 38?
Maybe an event or premium Finnish squad could have SVT 38? (regular squads use Gewehr 41 or 43). The Axis tree doesnt NEED another rifle but I dont think Mosin Nagant 1891 being included would ruin the game either.

Maps:

Id like to see Winter War/Continuation War maps added, the ones you have listed would be okay for the time being.
I would suggest that as soon as possible Finnish uniforms be locked to Winter War/Continuation War locations unless historically accurate so eventually any Finnish squads fighting in Moscow, Berlin, Normandy, Tunisia etc. would auto swap to regular Wehrmacht uniforms.

(Germans can already equip KP 26 and M/26 so Finnish weapons in places they were never used, while inaccurate, isnt a new problem for the game.)

Vehicles/Aircraft

Similar to weapons. Native Finnish or vehicles not already in game are fine, eg Vickers tank (model could be reused for Thai tanks for Japan), BT 42, Fokker aircraft, VL Myrsky.

German tech like Panzer IV and Junkers just give them Finnish skins and tankers if the player selects the Finnish flag and chooses to have a Finnish tanker squad

Soviet weapons, again, Im interested in others thoughts. Captured KV I would be a good premium squad. T26E and T-34 Im less sure about.

Would others be okay with a tech tree T26 and T34 in Euro Axis tree? Id probably vote T26 as okay (I imagine plenty were captured) but T34 be an event or premium. The concern is Allied tanks having to basically fight Soviet tanks in Normandy or Tunisia which is just dumb.

Yes, the online translator conveys the meaning of ideas a little distorted.
