I think Axis needs more Bombers

Specifications (Dornier Do 215 B-1)

  • Guns: 4 × 7.92 mm (0.312 in) MG 15 machine guns, (later upgraded to 6)
  • Bombs: 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) bombs carried internally

I think Maximal Bomb load 1,000 kg would be Br 4 i think lower Bomb load could be Br 3 maybe 3x 250 Kg = 750 Kg or the Do 215B-1 as a reconnaissance bomber, a 500 kg bomb i think this would be Br 2?
Do 17 - Weltkrieg2 in the link is info about the D0 215 as well!

Internally carried bombs, so then due to weight distribution it would always carry an even number of bombs unless carrying a singular maximum load bomb. But that would be… unusual for this aircraft.

It’d be 2x 500Kg
4x 250Kg
or 20x 50Kg

Maybe something like 14x50 kg could be called even as well?

Maybe something like 2 x 250 kg + 4 x 50 would be most likely be even as well?

It could carry 1 x500 kg Bomb as well!

16x 50Kg big bombers like this usually dropped the smaller bombs in loads of 4

Also internal carry, so due to difference in diameter I don’t think they can carry mixed weights.

Maybe something like 16x 50Kg could be Br 3 ?

Remember it is not just bomb load or armament that dictates BR rating.
Speed and handling also factor. This plane is probably going to be BR III with any load.

4 × 7.92 mm (0.312 in) isnt a great armament!

I dont think the Br2 planes Su (m-82)& Sb -2m hase really lower stats!

I think the speed numbers in Enlisted are often higher than whout i find on wikipedia , i know it depends on altitude as well!

If the Do 215 would be Br3 what Bomb load should it have in Br3?
Then most Players in the poll want it in Br3!

Do 215 (Do 17 Z-7 as its already in game, and the 215 is just the export model of the Do 17 Z)

A quick comparison of stats show this is a real hunk of Junk, personally I would look to add it at BR2 with 10 x 50kg bombs, Also instead of the Do 215, Id seek to add the Do 17 instead, as that was a mainline production aircraft instead of just the export model.

It was the interest shown by Yugoslavia in the Do 17Z which gave rise to the designation Dornier Do 215, allotted for no apparent reason to the Do 17Z sent to Yugoslavia for demonstration purposes in July 1937.

While this aircraft was essentially identical to the production Do 17Z, the Reichsluftfahrtministerium assigned the designation Do 215 to the export version.

There where suggestion about the Do 17Z before that , thats why i dont did one.

A Do 17 could be still added as TT.

I know the Do 215 was a bit rare it still could be Event with or without squad! maybe?

There where suggestion about the Do 17 e-1 - Suggestions / Vehicles - Enlisted — official forum

I think this would be more a Night Fighter not a Fan Do 17 Z-7 - Archive / Suggestions - Archive - Enlisted — official forum

I didnt wanted my suggestion be closed or deleted!

I think youve misunderstood, the Do 17Z and the Do 215, are the same aircraft, the Do 215 is just redesignated for export duties.

Officialy not, it hase a different name!

Its still the exact same plane. Not to mention we already have a Do 17Z model ready to use, so why complicate it for 0 reason? Also also, why use the obscure export name instead of the actual designation? Especially for such an iconic german bomber of the war?

If i hade used Do 17 in Suggestion it would maybe be deleted!

Another bomber in br3 is welcome

I think Axis hase just one Bigger Bomber in Br V!
