So far, Japan only have 1 TT assault weapon in Br5, despite it has a good rate of fire, its damage is low. I think adding another one for Japan is necessary.
Here are 3 weapons that I think we can add in the tech tree, none of them are copy paste weapons and I’ve already wrote topic about each of them.
Type 17 assault machine gun
It’s a Chinese copy of the M1923 Thompson, chambered in .45 ACP, and has the same ROF(810 rounds/m) of the Thompson 7.63(also based on M1923) and M1928 Thompson.
However, its damage would be higher(8.8)due to its 14 inch barrel. So it’s like a 50 round version of the Thompson .30 but with slower rate of fire.
Fedorov Avtomat M1923
The M1923 is the later version of the Fedorov Avtomat, it has a front sight cover, different rear sight, and its cleaning rod is removed. The Japanese may have confused the production year with the model designation, since production of the Fedorov rifles ended in 1925.
None of them are copy paste. The US has variants of the M1921AC or 1921/28 in their TT or as Premium and event weapons. And Japan has a 20 round version of the gun.
The Fedorov Avtomat is not the one suggested here ither and the Type 17 is a copy of a Thompson M1923 of which no version are included in the game.
Yeah, I’d call that copy paste for the most part too. I’m sick of thompsons to begin with, and also sick of other nations getting thompsons, they somehow always seem to out perform the tree where thompsons belong as well. Can you imagine the uproar of german mains if u.s. got the 1040rpm thompson japan recieved in br2?
Players also for the most part stand together against nations getting captured weapons.
America have better Thompsons for them, let’s start with M1921AC , what’s the point to give them another variants that doesn’t have a muzzle brake. Even if Japan get the Type 17, the original M1923 is chambered in .45 Remington–Thompson (11.4x25mm) which is more powerful. Basically it’s a 50 round version of StG44 for America.
As for the Fedorov Avtomat, Soviet have a lot more cool and useful variants to be added, giving them a variant that with different rear sight is more pointless.
In conclusion, it’s a win-win situation. The Allies still have better options available, while Japan gets access to weapons that its arsenal currently lacks.
If it’s more powerful why did you suggest the copy paste gets more damage? Lol
I vote to not give weapons to japan that belong to other factions. The thompson has SOME leeway because of how many were sold out around the world (even though i don’t like it for this game). I would much prefer prototypes than copy paste here. If japan can’t get a full battle rating with equipment that resembles japan, then it shouldn’t exist (the br#), just like it used to be
A longer barrel doesn’t mean more damage at 10m. It means less damage drop off at distance.
Last time i checked we don’t have a thompson in game like this. So you’re argument is based around something that doesn’t even exist here.
Good luck convincing the next guy. I’m against it all. Find some prototypes or something and you’ll have my support. Hell, I’d even be more inclined to back a chinese capture weapon that ISN’T a thompson.
Because I was telling you that America & Soviet still has better options for them , that’s way I choose these guns for Japan.
To suggest about new weapons, sometimes we have to estimate its damage due to its barrel length, caliber or muzzle velocity. At least we can know that the M1923 is more powerful compare to the .45 ACP
Thompson.
Besides, I don’t see anything wrong with making predictions based on weapons that we already have.
Here’s an example
I feel like you’re just looking for reasons to argue with me. You said that captured weapons would be too powerful for Japan, so I pointed out that the Allies still have better options that could be added to the game. Then you told me that my argument was based on weapons that don’t even exist .
It was just one point that i touched on, not the main one. The main ones are not wanting to see more thompsons in other TTs and captured weapons in general.
And if japan got a stronger thompson than U.S. it would mean ANOTHER thompson would have to go to U.S. to have the better one. The U.S. TT is bloated with thompsons. For the longest time it’s all we had from br3 to br5. I really don’t care to see another one anytime soon.
I’m just stating my opinion on it. Has nothing to do with trying to beat you down. Again, if you find a unique chinese smg that fits the game for japan, I’d be all for it, along with any one off prototypes.
