A 100 round Stinger for the tech tree at BR5

As many people know, there is an event weapon that’s a 200 round version of the Stinger, but the Stinger only ever used 100 round boxes in real life. So why not add the 100 round version and use it to fill a gap in the U.S. tech tree as its premiere BR5 machine gun. The M1919a6 is good but not as good as its competitors, and the Stinger would be a weapon that had more than one prototype and actually saw combat.

Now as for the event 200 round Stinger, it would remain noticeably stronger than its tech tree counterpart, which would benefit the veterans who have them. But if that’s too much, then they could always nerf it.

The 1919a6 is only “good” on defense when there is plenty of space between you and the enemy, needless to say it is not very good as assaulting or counterattacking.

While prototypes are already far too prevalent in the TT I don’t think putting a weapon of which literlly six were cobbled together on a ship is the way to address the TT MG weakness of the Allies at BR5.

Obviously, with the US and German factions being my main two factions I play with, I would be fine seeing an M2 Stinger in the Tech Tree, however, I see very little hope the dev’s will include it. Of course, if it were a Soviet weapon, with the Dev’s Soviet bias…I could see them adding it…in the 200 round version :joy:

No

I mean, this is was a field modification, it really saw combat and a variant is already in the game. I think it would be nice to have a counter to Axis high RoF MGs

It may have only been six but they were used in active service, were technically officially adopted, and made a not insignificant impact where they were used. Compared to fake guns such as the cut down M2 carbine and post war ones such as the USSR jet this is practically standard issue. Not to mention at least 25% of the guns in game never saw combat unlike this one.

At the size of the Stinger’s ammo box, it certainly wouldn’t hold around 200 rounds.

You should suggest a nerf this weapon’s magazine capacity instead.

I would prefer more original stuff for my BR V:

A belt fed Jonny will be nice BR V addition :

Johnson T40/T48/T53 Belt-Fed LMGs

And BR V sniper weapon.

Will make US far more interesting and more amphibious stuff :

Just for fun

They didn’t start testing nor building this prototype until after ww2. So this one would be a no go.

Read the link :

"’ Johnson Automatics quickly drew up a design for a belt-feed mechanism to replace the magazine feed of the M1945 LMG. The fact that the gun already had a modular, removable magazine well was likely a big help in getting the design completed on April 27th, 1945. It was promising enough that Johnson won an $80,000 contract on May 23rd to finalize the design and supply two sample guns for testing. ‘’ T40 is exactly world war 2 prototype.

It says its design was reward in 1945. However the highlighted part confirms that it wasn’t completely built and delivered until the following year.

How this exactly is a problem? The design is exactly world war 2? The design is from 1945 ?

Like many other prototypes that we have in the TT that are completed in 1946 but where designed in 1945.

no cause event stinger should have 100 rounds if they actually fix it.

If you mean ho-ri it was never built?
October 1944

John Garand completed the T20 in October 1944 . The first of the “T” series, it was equipped with a B.A.R.-style magazine and a “lengthened” Ml receiver and had selective fire capabilities. The T20E1 and T20E2 followed with further variations.

Erm ackshually the T20 was desinged and produced during WW2. In fact several other varients on it were made before the end of the war as well, notably the T20E1 and T20E2. In fact the T20E2 was literaly about to be put into mass production as the M2 rifle but the war ended before that could happen. 100 T20E2 guns were made before the end of the war. The soviet jet in game would be the example your looking for but not the T20.
