So basically introduce 2 matchmakers, historical and arcade. It was sugested like 2 years ago so I guess we can try it now.
Add some kind of switch button when player clicks to find a match. Or prefferably a big screen to choose between arcade, historical and custom as currently have problem with “join any side” button.
Arcade - any equipment on any map
Historical - equipment and maps match the time period

and that historical one will explode immediatly everytime 
it will take him 30 minutes to find a game after half of players will leave anyway because it will be Kahif cave confrontation XD

Actually, not a bad idea. Will take forever to find a match in historical one, but that’s your choice. If you want to do that, go for it.
well why not use custom battles for it as devs wants ?
a) people are retarded
they can’t find join any team button nor current custom lobbies
b) custom lobbies are kind of unwanted child, nobody wants to be seen as that
c) why you don’t want to use them? yeah exactly

yes but i dont use them mainly because bots cant do shit about vehicles and are snowflakes

im not playing customs now cause PVE is shit… but at least more people will try to learn how to use customs properly … i know its hard for those two braincells but humanity must improve thats prophecy
