Why nobody requested MG13 nerf?

You definitely could and it is not impossible but to do that you have to:

  1. be a body builder

  2. fire only in semi auto mode

I agree, but there are no such mechanics as a gun breaking your clavicle and it would be wierd to completely lock the ability to shoot when not bipoded (although that should definetely be a thing when it comes to AT rifles, because that is even more absurd). That way we must work with the recoil on machineguns to make bipoded shooting a way to go.

so increase the recoil on board, I agree

Yeah true :joy:

Exception is if you are a Russian on steroids:

Maybe stamina draining could be also a solution. That way it would be hard to use LMG when unbipoded. Of course with recoil increase too.

He is fallschrimjager so elite infantry, but I don’t think there is any phisical limitation. Also it’s MG42 so only full auto. Your aim will be nonexistant but it’s doable.

PPDs recoil per shot is lower compared to other SMGs. Although the higher RoF means there is a lot more ammo going out compared to other SMGs. This gives the gun it’s recoil which can be easily negated by firing it in shot bursts. The recoil then is comparable to MP-38s(used to be MP-28 but it’s even lesser now) while having twice the RoF. This makes PPDs the best for short and medium range engagements.

I agree. Any change that makes the rifles more relevant is a good one.

Compared to ZB, MG-13 feels incredibly stable. And it was much much more smoother than this about a month back. The recoil got a huge bump in the last update.

I never said it’s not doable

But I’m pretty sure this guy on the picture is not even aiming at the enemy. It looks like a typical German propaganda footage imo
There is no way he kept that aim

After watching this, everything is doable

ZB-26 should be better than the MG-13

I’m 99% sure he is not even trying to hit them, I guess he is lying suppressive fire.

?

just my opinion

That’s also a staged shot.

Look at his hand. Any sustained fire would burn him.

It’s a reenactor.

I’d rather see countries with unique strengths rather than copy pasted stats on different weapon skins.

USA: mass fielded M1 Garand, BAR and Thompson are notable

Germany: widely regarded as having good machine guns, STG44, FG42 (not fielded in large enough quantities to affect the outcome of the war but largely regarded as great weapons)

Soviet Union: PPSH41 is up there with the MP5 as being one of the most easily recognizable submachine guns in the world. Later war Russian tank designs known to be really great (t34-85, IS2)

UK: Lee Enfield. Maybe not as robust as the Mauser bolt action design but it was a smooth fast action.

FWIW people can absolutely brace and hipfire machine guns. Are they accurate? not really. Can it be done? yes. HLL your character braces, run speed is severely reduced and you can hipfire the belt feds while standing.

PKM is super easy to fire unsupported, the M249 SAW I’ve shoulder fired before which weighs as much as the MG13 loaded but it shoots 5.56 and not 7.92 mauser.

Should it be impossible? No. Should it be an effective means of both engaging in fast CQB and shooting at long range targets? no.

You mean his left hand?

Yeah, right on metal around the barrel would get very hot very quickly. He isn’t even wearing gloves.

its a reenactor, their blanks. real MG42 though.

Do you hav a source? I would like to read more.

Still a good point to bring up that not every MG has the ergonomics to fire them unsupported.

i think outside links are allowed.

Assault or “walking” fires is a technique that was used in WWII by advancing machine gun crews and is still in use today. I’ve used it with the M249 SAW, seen people do it with 7.62 belt feds. Is it incredible situational? heck yeah.

@8383908 yeah some machine guns are not built with the ergonomics in mind for unsupported fires. (M1919) for example. I’m sure, if you put your mind to it you could grab the carry handle and hipfire it with a short belt.

@33349666 source: I used to do reenacting and it was a photo taken by a FJ reenactment group. I don’t remember who though.

Here it’s explained more in depth.

Wow dude!

That’s exactly what I want, asymmetrical balance and team uniqueness. If OBT brings us only mirror gameplay, I will make another poll asking new players if they agree with that

Late war Soviet tanks were better than the american tanks but not better than the German ones

Soviets were much more known for their early war tanks which were much better than the German ones
