Why is there no Medic class?

With this game being so squad focused I’m surprised that there is no medic class. A medic would add more depth and variety and new style of gameplay. They should be able to have a limited number of supplies to revive squad mates as well as being able to drop medkits. Could lock off primary weapons so they can only carry a side arm and a knife. Every squad/ platoon needs a medic.

idk man it would be interesting to see a soldier that had some quick revive equipment like a pack of morphine injections that would basically instantly revive a downed soldier and the ability to use medpacks much quicker by default

Because a we all know, being shot in the face can be healed by morphine.

Or having a chest full of SMG rounds will suddenly heal itself when morphine is administered.

We’ve been over these threads. No.

With every soldier already caring a medkit. Or with the right equipment they can carry multiple medkits.

It’s really not necessary to have a medic. besides medics didn’t really get people back into the battle they were mainly there to stabilize the seriously wounded and transport them to a hospital in the rear.

If a soldier was lightly wounded he would bandage himself and continue to fight. That’s the kind of aid that is somewhat simulated here in enlisted.

Simple medkit can heal knocked-out soldier to full hp in 2 seconds.

Because we all know, this is how it works irl.

This. Having a way to bring dudes back from the dead (that aren’t dismembered/headshot) would make defense on invasion so much more tolerable. As is if you die as a defender it’s a 60 second run back to the point, and by then the enemy has probably half capped it already.

Big no to zombies. Go play CoD zombies gamemode if you want to fight people that have risen from the dead. Thanks.

well, unlike those donuts ( no offence to anyone  ) above,

i’ll try to provide a proper answer and summorized what has been said in the past:

the main reasons why you don’t see medics, are the followings:

A. it wouldn’t be historically accurate.
B. it would require huge work defining them as a medic
C. you can already do that ( kinda ):

like, there were no actual combat fighting medical units.
that would have been against geneva convention of the 29s.
plus, trust me, less soldiers to worry about it. ( considering the actual class type I, II, III ecc )

The only person with their head up their rear I see here is the one thinking necromancy is a good idea, but sure. If you die, you die. That’s it. Revives would fuck with all sorts of balancing.

To some extend I think people just wanna have female Soviet field doc skins.

Female soldiers have been discussed before. Community consensus was that it was a bad idea.

yes cause we all know the same applies to a medkit -.-’, now your just being intentionally difficult…you cant use a medkit to revive yourself after you’ve been shot in the head in the game so why would it be any different for the medics equipment… you would have to be in a revive-able state to be revived… getting shot in the head doesn’t leave you in a revive-able state

really… not historically accurate… cause i was pretty sure combat medics were a thing…

Combat medics were not part of combat units they were organized in their own units which were attached to to bigger bodies(often under the command of headquarter units/detachments). What is proposed here is essentially a combatant that is also a medic which did not exist in WW2 as medics or other medical and non-combat personal was protected under the geneva convention to not be attacked by combatants.

That is also why any medical personal or facilities are marked with the red cross on a white background.

You mean the Geneva suggestion don’t you? Cause I’m pretty sure NATO forces are the only ones who actually follow those “rules” and even then it’s touch and go… I can vouch 1st hand

lmao, yeah in IRAQ they used that as something to try and aim at.

if you cared enough to read the page dedicated to explaining Combat Medics you would know that yes they did go into combat… but true it was without a weapon… which could accurately be replicated on here they could make it so a combat medic will always spawn without a weapon and killing the medic will actually detract points from the enemy :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

On D-Day, June 6, 1944, dozens of medics went into battle on the beaches of Normandy, usually without a weapon. The large red cross on their helmets was supposed to protect them, and Germans usually (but not universally) respected that convention. But even aside from the threat of direct enemy fire, being a combat medic was a dangerous assignment; shell fire and shrapnel drew no distinction between combatants and noncombatants.
