well both of those have their own kind of stupidity. idk if you ever used gas mask, but it restricts your breathing, so you need to expend a lot more effort to actually breathe normally. running with it on is absolute nightmare. not to mention it is prone condensation and fogging up depending on the temperature.
think that no soldier would wear it if not absolutely necessary.
exactly… people who want gas masks never wore one and dont understand how shit they are. for AT troops they served to protect face against backblast, so i would guess they could remove filter for easier breathing if they needed to have it on for longer period of time, or they would just remove mask after they are done with firing rzb. they will definitely not be wearing it 24/7.
they dont listen to “the community”.
they listen to a mix of mass spammed whining and random opinions selectively filtered by mostly biased helpers.
this becomes evident if you make a list of everything implemented over the last 2 years and how fast/slow DF reacted:
stupid overreacted nerfs are usually implemented instantly
essential game mechanics or improvements that are easy to code take months or years
the whole process is dysfunctional.
some months ago a programmer friend found a way to easily & quickly solve the mounting issue in Enlisted, free of bugs and tested by him. he was ready to share it with DF for free and contacted keofox asking for a direct conversation with the person at DF coding game mechanics. result: no answer
what are you on about
this game has the best feeling guns in any shooter I’ve ever seen. ESPECIALLY battlefield
You can actually kill things, bullets usually go where they are supposed to. The properly animated tracers are AMAZING. It’s crazy how much better they make the game. Anytime I can’t see the tracers (for whatever reason) I’m having trouble hitting stuff
I overall like this game very much. I’d just hope they’d go about doing well thought out things instead of half baked things
Why not fix and expand the clothing customisation system and for example have an update wholly themed around it and some extra “event BP” featuring universal clothing tickets, fancy pistol tickets, sabre tickets, extra golden orders, etc? People would definitely pay for it, people would be happy about fixed clothing system, no one would be upsed about game turning into Fortnite…
It took them so damn long to get around to fixing BR 1 new players getting turbostomped by BR3 abusers it’s not even funny. Why can’t they work on the matchmaker to make it less of a total nightmare?
Also, while the merge was kinda necessary (after the COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE problems stemming from powercreeping existing campaigns and more and more of them splitting the pop) it was also quite uninspired half-solution. Imagine instead of having a complete jumbled mess of equipment in factions we have now the game did something like this:
tech tree stays
we return to early-campaign-like equipment rosters PER MAP - and such equipment rosters are filtered down to period and location accurate weapons, vehicles, cosmetics
you just set up a lineup per map “cluster” (since one map can have several modes/layouts/etc) from that more reasonable roster
and you just random (with hopefully better matchmaker system to boot)
Dispersion removed any sort of skill because they couldnt figure out a better way to make autos not OP due to small shitty maps (and they failed hard at that one). I am really tired of still seeing bullets making u-turns out of the barrel and either missing or hitting someone’s leg I wasn’t aiming at. Shotguns, especially DBs, seem to have ridiculously bad dispersion to the point they don’t OHK in the range of 5m.
Recoil does not exist at all, including on automatic rifles or shooting an MG while moving.
Despite claims about the DMG, sometimes weapons (especially SMGs) take forever to kill someone, and I suspect that it is partially because of the previously mentioned dispersion combined with servers. They nerfed tank and 20mm MG/ cannon rounds so much that a 20mm cannon sometimes struggles to 2HK someone, let alone a tank MG 3HKing someone.
Speaking of servers, hits seem to often not be noticed by the server because I often hear myself getting hit by bullets but don’t get damaged.
Weapon stats, in general, are inconsistent and don’t make any sense, plus minus the stupidity of looking at a stupid Google spreadsheet just to know how accurate my weapon is.
Don’t be. That isn’t how things work. Companies don’t “put you in touch with the dev” because you claim to have fixed code. I can’t imagine expecting that to work.
This person could have simply given them the code or something.
You’re right; there is usually a response when something like this occurs for an inquiry for more information about the code used, not dead silence. That is unless the community manager doesn’t care about improving the game.
not really. if this was some security bug then there would be response. even then they would not accept code, they would just require information on how to reproduce the issue.
like i said look at xz vulnerability and jia tan
XZ Utils, and its underlying library liblzma, are open-source projects that implement the lzma compression and decompression. They are included in many Linux distributions out of the box, are very popular with developers, and are used extensively throughout the Linux ecosystem.
Almost two years ago, a developer under the name of Jia Tan joined the project and started opening pull requests for various bug fixes or improvements. So far, nothing is out of the ordinary; this is how things work in the open-source world. Eventually, after building trust and credibility, Jia Tan began to receive permissions for the repository — first, commit permissions and, eventually, release manager rights.
It seems that as part of the effort to gain these permissions, Jia Tan used an interesting form of social engineering: They used fake accounts to send myriad feature requests and complaints about bugs to pressure the original maintainer, eventually causing the need to add another maintainer to the repository.
After contributing to the code for approximately two years, in 2023 Jia Tan introduced a few changes to XZ that were included as part of release 5.6.0. Among these changes was a sophisticated backdoor.
If this is the case, shouldn’t Keofox have responded, “We can’t accept this code for security reasons, but we thank you for trying to make Enlisted a better place” or something similar? Even though the request was turned down, the community manager acknowledged it at the very least. That shows that the company cares about community feedback instead of no response.
no code required, just the adjustment of badly implemented parameters that cause mounting problems; but require experience/high skill to properly do right from the start.
every competent person is happy to profit from people more competent than himself in order to learn and especially if it solves a problem unsolvable before.
there are perks that help with that massively
although playing default soldiers in the event made me completely confused as to why my guns had 60 degree cone of fire
sadly that’s basically all modern FPS games, you can shoot your own feet while looking up for whatever reason
Recoil is too weak on lots of things, but it is unfair to say does not exist after all. If you try firing something like the FG42 without compensating youll be shooting into the sky half mag in
Overall way overdone dispersion needs to go. Same with horrible default inaccuracy of some guns. Like, why does putting a 30rnd mag into the Hei make it be significantly more accurate than a 5rnd mag Hei. Having more recoil, especially if it means less obnoxious dispersion would be cool
I dunno, most SMGs are decent, they aren’t really supposed to be good past close to mid range. People also insist on using something like the god awful Thompson or the PPSh-41(box) just because they have a higher BR number next to it
The autocannon and vehicle MGs are a valid point. It’s a bit goofy
teammates? I very rarely have bad hitreg, but its usually a short issue when the server load hits like 500% or more for a few seconds for whatever reason
Perks do not adjust dispersion at its “main root”. There is actually only one perk that “adjusts” dispersion, but it only accounts for the dispersion penalty after quick move. And it is not even much to talk about in the first place.
The actual recoil of the FG42 is 19/8 or something like that, making it on the same level as a VG1-5 or the M1 Carbine. Of course, you need to “adjust”, but it’s still easy to the point it is not worth mentioning.
Not to mention that there are actual perks that decrease recoil further, and some classes even have recoil reduction as a fixed perk.
And all that despite firing rifle rounds and intermediate rounds or calibres like the .30.
Edit: Never mind. No class has recoil perk anymore as fixed perk.
Yeah but usually SMGs start struggling at 100m, here they already struggle at 50m, especially SMGs with lower damage or high dispersion, only endurable because of superiority of spamming bullets.
The same applies to machine guns because, despite all the fixed bipods, they still can’t deploy properly and have the highest dispersion penalty for doing worse damage than SA rifles (excluding the BARs).
The PPSh41 Box has 0.21 dispersion, even less than the StG… dunno why people like that one.
The M1921/28 Thompson has the lowest dispersion of all Thompsons, so again, who knows why people recommend that one, especially since most US SMGs are trash anyway.
As far as I am concerned, they do not make any sound etc.
