my favourite is that with all enlisted flaws there’s still no better game, if there was I wouldn’t be playing here obviously, what else you got… easy red? too unpolished, HLL? it’s much better but still totally different approach, squad/44 no description needed.
so no wonder why people are so desperate to keep the game as it is/was, or to be the game they want it to be, constant updates only makes it live on.
Yeah well, there also the forums, which, to be fair, do not represent the majority of players.
For all we know, they could be for the most part, from consoles.
( not in a derogatory or bad way, let’s make it clear )
Or so to speak, casual audience.
Which, I think it would have been great if the game would allow for both play style. And improve many more aspects to cater to both,
Perhaps not in the base game, but though mods.
Or even customs.
Yet, again, comes back to the false promises and not so quick on the deliveries, perhaps my own childrens will see such things ( one day. )
But yeah, so much to do. And the time keeps going by
I don’t like forced positivity. I am just trying to be as much honest as I can be.
We are just experiencing the worst event in enlisted yet. Not worth of development time invested.
Event squads has never been behind the paywall up until now.
Why should I be positive about it?
My negative comments about the game are from passion and frustration. I really do want to see this game do well, and I see the potential it has. But currently with the few decisions I’ve seen while playing this game, the Devs make it hard to point out good things with the game so much so that I think sometimes this game should be thrown into the bin and not be allowed to celebrate another year for development. My complaints about the game not having simple Quality of life things like map/game mode selections of even a little more useful AI squad mates going into year 4 kind of heightens my frustration with the game.
It’s like they won’t hesitate to over monetize the game with extra Battle passes and skins/squad vehicles or waste dev time on silly things like vehicle tracks leaving different prints in the ground so you can tell if it’s a tank or whatever but won’t address hit detection when shooting through windows at slight angle or over low walls when crouched. Or even why if you are stopped still to throw a grenade and start to strafe left or right frames after the grenade is in the air the grenade will follow your movement left or right with a weird phantom momentum.
I’ve left detailed videos and notes on the report forums about that stuff, and I’m not expecting a personal message in reply, but I wouldn’t even mind a canned response like “Thank you we are looking into it”. It just seems like you leave a report on something like that, and it falls on deaf ears which makes me think that the devs really don’t care about the game and they only want to squeeze as much money out of the community as possible hence this Halloween event Battle Pass coupled with the M4A2 tank getting APCR shots a few updates before which I’m sure helped boost sales one the “Daemon” tank. Stuff like this makes me lost trust and faith fast. I understand the game needs to make money but there are ways to do it that don’t compromise your communities trust in you as a Devlopment company.
I think there are two separate issues here
I personally also get annoyed by people comparing the game to RO2/Squad/HLL and demanding it be turned into something like them…JUST GO PLAY THOSE. I’ve tried playing Lonefighters when it was still “official” mode and it was completely pointless mode to me
However. The event IMO was a massive fumble. I get it they might need additional monetisation (although I think prominently selling “starter packages” of perma slot unlocks or something would be better)
I just hate that it messes with be basic game. The special soldiers look absolutely braindead and out of place. The event BP objectives are obnoxious (i always end up fee minutes short) and tons of people are grinding it, making base game lack population and result in bad games.
After a while it’s not really that much fun either tbh.
I think people would still pay for a special event BP if instead it just gave you things like bling bling pistol skins and sabre tickets. And instead of mad max sherman - the soldiers are usually goofy as hell and there are plenty of hisotrical images of weirdly ornamented vehicles
The game used to be closer to reality on the arcade-realistic spectrum, attracting many HA enthusiasts, but the game is changing. We are disappointed but still unwilling to give up 100% on Enlisted, thus still struggling on the forum. A big reason is because the devs still don’t have the guts to tell us what they want the game to become next.
They could have issued an announcement saying “fuck hardcore, fuck immersion, we want profits now, so we have to make new commercialization attempts. If you don’t like seeing this, don’t play Enlisted” .But they didn’t, which makes us think there’s still hope for Enlisted.
I say most people here are only here because of the sunk cost fallacy or are still in denial and can’t accept that DF marketing trolled us and that the game was neve really realistic or “immersive”.
Well, kinda is.
Considering its current external market conditions, with few (free) arcade WW2 Online shooters active, it should have the benefit of sole market dominance.
And yet, we still can’t get good matches in prime-time Europe (and probably elsewhere, too), need constant supply bots and still cant have hardlocked BR matches for ALL BRs.
The bots/ Enlisted actual unique selling point still sucks ass after four years or so and, at this point, only serves to feed the ego of morons.
And mods didn’t get specific content updates for at least two years now.
And just look at mods what yo can actually do with the current game assets.
Maybe because it’s the USP of the game, and devs often forget that one?
And what is the point of praising the game/ this post? Like that will change anything?
What is actually good here?
Gunplay is worse than BF, maps are worse than pretty much most shooters I played on, vehicle gameplay is heavily limited by stat nerfs and shitty maps and game is overall grindy and I am not a person who plays video games primarily to do (unpaid) work.
Only “good” thing here are bots and the range of equipment.
My opinion: The devs listen to the community A LOT, and delivered on a lot of stuff recently that was specifically asked for - however we also seem to get a lot of controversial stuff as well.
Thats why the Forums are on fire with negativity, more than it deserves to be. Its only natural.
I wouldn’t mind the sleeveless guy if he wasn’t wearing the gas mask 24/7 for no reason and also had proper skins for proper maps. He looks fine on warm maps and absolutely braindead in the snow, when everyone else is running around in thick coats
The Russian guy is exact reverse. It doesn’t look too jarring on cold maps but is dumb on warm maps.
The Japanese guy is a problem because there might have been one guy rolling like that, but in the end you’ll end up seeing him constantly and it just ends up looking goofy too
The US soldier looks the least stupid…but for example has a badly mismatched generic white recruit voice most of the time
Overall it’s not something that is absolutely world ending…but its just poorly thought out and kinda problematic…for not that much real benefit to anyone and that can leave people kinda frustrated I think.
Especially since it could have been avoided if the devs thought about it. This event just has bad vibes.
I complain quite a lot and the reason is actually quite simple. When I got interested in the game 4+ years ago, it was because it was advertised as
(somwhat) historical (remember it was after bf5 flop, cod vanguard was released soon after)
quite realistic but still fast (no walking simulator)
controlling AI squad, this was a feature I always wanted and dreamt of, this idea is super cool
But time has passed and update after update the game either doesn’t improve (AI) or actually goes in the oposite direction (HA and realism).
So why should I be happy? Why shouldn’t I complain?
There are some big and small updates that I actually like. But the general trend is very bad from my perspective.
