When will you add Stg44 to the game?

You give both Americans and Soviets their iconic weapons(Thompson and PPsh41) and just don’t give German players Stg44? Is it really that powerful to be added at level 30+??

The iconic german wapon are the mp40 the only criticism that can be done is PPsh41 and Thompson are rated better than the mp40 when they are on par

Mp40 isn’t SO good in game.

There must be a reason if they allow an “iconic” weapon to be unlocked relatively early while the other two you mentioned are behind a massive grind wall.

maybe you are right, but let’s put that the game is also a bit on the side of the allies

From a guy named martin:
Having fired both, and realizing that the Thompson is a 1st Generation SMG with all of it’s compromise and limitations, and having fired the MP40, which is a latter second generation SMG with all it’s advantages, I’d take the MP40 in a heart beat.
Only people who actually have fired the weapons in question have valid opinions but other factors include the fact that in mid war the Thompson was supplanted by the M3 and M3A1 for good reason, although cheaper, it’s a much better Submachinegun, also a 2nd generation one. The Ergonomics of the Thompson are utter crap. Properly held, not by the magazine but by the housing UNDER the receiver on a MP40, it’s an accurate weapon, well past 100 meters. It’s also easier to carry and those who have actually fried War Thompsons know that rear sight is utter crap, a big slab with a tiny hole and there’s a reason you see a lot of GI’s shooting and looking above the sight. the stock is horrendous.

From a wapons russia site:
One is more powerful, while the other is more ergonomic and technically advanced.

Both of these submachine guns were created right before World War II and became inalienable symbols of the Soviet and German arms manufacturing schools.

Each has its pros and cons and we’ll try to figure out what makes either of them better against an opponent.

The German MP-40 is a 32 round submachine gun chambered with standard 9x19 mm magazines. It’s pretty comfortable to put ammo inside it and to reload during a gunfight.

“At the same time, Soviet PPSh has a 72 ammo drum mag chambered with 7,62x25 mm rounds. It took way more time to assemble a mag before the fight. It was heavier and not as comfortable to carry as the MP-40’s magazines. Yet, it had twice as much ammo in each mag. That advantage could compensate for previously stated inconveniences,” says Vadim Kozulin, a professor at the Academy of the Military Science.

The German MP-40 was lighter, but showed lesser reliability at precise shooting.

“If I need to do precise shooting, I’d choose the PPSh over the MP-40. The wooden stock of the first submachine gun wins over the fully metallic German one. It’s smoother and perfectly fits in the shoulder compared to the MP-40. As a result, the PPSh is more accurate,” Alexander Borisov, major in the Russian military reserve, admits.

As mentioned, both submachine guns feel comfortable during full-auto rapid fire. And on this particular part, the German MP-40 surpasses the Soviet PPSh. “Yet, the MP-40 has a rate of fire of 600 rounds per minute, while the PPSh has twice as much - 1200 rounds per minute. So, in real battle circumstances, each second MP-40 shoots ten rounds, while the PPSh can fire 20 of them into enemies. This parameter makes a huge difference between the two of them,” says Borisov.

The PPSh’s 7,62x 25 mm ammo is slightly more powerful compared to the German’s 9x19 mm. ‘We tested their penetration power a couple of years ago on concrete blocks. Some of PPSh’s rounds penetrated two blocks of that kind, while the MP-40 effectively goes through just one of them,” says the major.

The PPSh had a downside to the technological side. The gaps between the parts were very large and when the PPSh was shaken, the elements could be heard banging against each other. The fall of a submachine gun from a small height often led to a spontaneous shot. Since the simplified trigger mechanism allowed only automatic fire, the firing did not stop as long as there were cartridges left in the magazine.

“But the main problem about PPSh was night shooting. It was unmistakably recognised by the three flames shooting up and out of the barrel casing. This always revealed the position of soldiers at night to enemies,” concludes Borisov.

It will come in the later stages of Berlin and probably Normandy. Taking into account that it was the best WW2 weapon it would make sense to have it in the last stages of the tech tree

both plz

Really? Only in mid range(50-100m) it’s a little bit OP and within 50m it cannot deal with either Thompson or PPsh, let alone SMG

well you are in luck since a version of STG was in a dev blog ages ago for normandy “Invasion of Normandy”: Soldiers and weapons - News - Enlisted

MP 40 is a great SMG not amazing not OP but still very good. I still run a few maxed out MP 40s even though I have Beretta 38s.

Reason being it’s so accurate recoil is almost non existent and the fire rate is pretty decent when maxed out.

Agree (reference up mp40 vs Thompson and PPsh41)
what I do not understand why put the variant of the Berretta1918 which is worse than the mp40 after mp40 and then the berettaM38 which almost like mp40 at the end of the campaign

Yeah all the PPsh guns are amazing. Yeah I used the Beretta 1918 for a bit and was like nah it’s too fast firing for such a tiny mag which majorly obstructs your view.

Now I give 1918s to my tank guys in the very rare occasion my tank gets absolutely crippled by some troops lurking behind me.

The problem is, even though the MP40 should have less recoil than either, if it were meant to mirror it’s IRL counterpart, it instead has more recoil than either, and is by the in-game stats, a rather poor option to use, and far worse than the Thompson or PPSh-41 in most any situation.
