I would say that comparing the MP 40 to any of the guns other than those two as they are end game unlocks would be a better comparison.

during the second world war the Beretta1918 (built in 1918) was abandoned by the Italian army at the beginning of the conflict for its new version Beretta MAB 18 / 30-41 because it was completely useless due to the enormous recoil and waste of ammunition compared to modern weapons (of the time)

I mean, it’s more of principle that the three are the iconic SMGs for each faction, and the MP40 is trash while the others are good.
Also I’m not a fan of “end-game” arguments as I’m far more a fan of sidegrade progression via flexibility vs a linear progression system, as I think linear progression is dumb.

Lol seems like a pretty accurate reason why I don’t really use it. Touch the trigger and there goes 15 rounds into one guy

but during the war Italy still used WWI weapons, what does a (italian)WWI weapon do in the German tech tree and even in a more advanced position than the mp40 I can understand the BerettaM38 that copies it mp40 but come on 
MAB38 being at higher level then mp40 is understandable, the beretta 1918… not so much
i have fired the MAB38 and mp40 and between them i can safley say the MAB is superior, since its slightly heavier, has a longer barrel, a good muzzle brake and twin trigger (singleshot and auto) its more accurate and i read somewhere that beretta had special ammo for it that had higher pressure (by today standard it was +P+ ammo) and they say it could accurately fire up to 200m

Exactly. Anyone who has used MP40 to fight against any Soviet SMG knows that it’s trash. Not even comparable with Soviet default SMGs

One possible advantage of the 1918 (in game) is that in really close encounters like room cleaning, by hipfiring and exploiting the extreme ROF, you can kill a guy a fraction of a second earlier than you would with the MP40.

as mentioned above, its replacement began in 1930 with the Beretta 18/30 modification and discontinued in 1938 with the Beretta MAB 38, the remaining models were used in Libya in 1941 but in any case it was a weapon that was no longer produced since before the war it shouldn’t be in the game

a stg45 - horn Prototype could be added as premium one.
Three horn rifles are still in existence, in a museum in Russia, russians did capture and i quote : " the Russians reported capturing 5 at the testing facility at Kummersdorf and another 4 from various units in the field" , only 3 did survive.

We dont need premium squads with Assault rifle. The soviet premium with the PPD-40s is already bullshit enough
its a 500 round per min weapon. not a 900 one.
