This.... this needs to stop

It says a lot how you put it in quotation marks.

If you have to compare a PC shooter with mobile gacha games, you know stuff is wrong lmao

I was referring to actual PC only games that do this and are successful.

lololololol

Black Desert Online (not mobile), Neverwinter…
For BDO, it also must be said, that upgrade system is most hated part of the game and even tho game is populated a lot, this upgrade system really hurts it. But BDO is Korean “grind your ass off” based game so its not surprising there and NWO got actually ways how to work around upgrade system that isn´t too disturbing in gameplay (or at least not in the manner that Enlisted got there) but prevents majority of playerbase from ever entering endgame content.

So in both cases this system is terrible, should not be encouraged and definitely should not be present in FPS.

BDO isn’t really successful. Apperantly their expenses are low as they havent shut down yet with 20k players/month, while war thunder and crossout were 5x as popular, if not more

I don´t really think that in this case steam reflects that particular game well, since it is probably mostly played on publisher´s client (either PA itself or Kakao games that is transfering publishing rights back on developer request, as far as my information goes) but digging into that is irrelevant and off topic atm.

My next 10 year i got a plan At least in enlisted.
Damn “at least enlisted” sounds like selling phrase.
Who’s give you a chance to grind 10000 hours.
Hmm at least Enlisted!

War was proseed 1418 days. I think it will be enough for a 4 companys as well to upgrade all gear and all of your boys. And 1418 nights of course

I don’t see a real problem with the current upgrade system, but it can certainly be done better.
A start would be changing upgrades so they’re either lower cost or lower failure rate, but not both. Having a high cost and high failure rate is a waste of time.

But again, not being able to 100% everything isn’t the end of the world and that’s all this system is.

Well, plenty of MMOs on PC have weapon enhancement too. Starting with more modern games (BDO, PSO2, etc.) and going all the way back to early 2000-s with Lineage 2, PWI, RFO, FF11 (to an extent). They just don’t use lootboxes (which already makes a huge difference as far as I’m concerned) so the analogy is not perfect.

But of course, upgrading through use (like in War Thunder, CoD, BF) is a lot more satisfying. Especially in action games where said “use” tends to be the entire point of the game.

have it be a twitch drop like the golden pistol

I wont be surprised if someone now asks an infinity gauntlet one snap 50% enemy team deleted …next use need to wait for 5 mins…available @90$ only

Say what?!

This must be a joke… there is no way any sane person would want to turn this game into a bloody casino!

It’s an obvious joke, yes. Because it’s the kind of situation where if you can’t laugh about it you might cry. The thread is well made, but it’s intentionally over the top. Golden construction hammer alone is a dead giveaway.

I think it is not a joke everyone there agrees

Yeah that fits

You mean the 6 star radio to call in a tsar bomb?

Uh-huh. Like the ability to chop down trees and build entire houses that require multiple engineers to finish? That’s definitely serious talk and not just people messing around.

But who knows, it is possible that some of them are indeed serious. I’ve seen crazier things suggested with a straight face. Like ending every battle with the losing side having to surrender by marching to the enemy base - unarmed and with hands raised (or they don’t get any rewards). Complete with a list of supposedly “cool ingame situations” it would have created, like “sometimes the ones surrendering would try to blow themselves up with a hidden grenade when the winners come to capture them” or “and then Japanese would get bonus points for killing themselves”.

Still, I can’t take this particular case seriously, it looks like an obvious joke. The author is here, though, you can ask him directly.
