If no one is gonna be able to get them - whats the problem then? Having something in game you’re not able to get instantly makes the game not fun and life useless?

lol - well 6 stars… 3 x 1 star to get to 2 stars, 3 x 2 star = 9 1 start to get to 3, 3 x 3 star = 27 to get to 4, 3 x 4 star = 81 to get to 5…

so 3 x 5 star = 243 original 1 star recruits to get to a single 6 star!!

That’s for soldiers.
For guns, it generally costs more, especially with the fail%.

imagine 60% fail chance on 110+ parts for 6 star guns

I cant even get new star on my previously fully upgraded MGs
Honestly to say i dont care how much stars will be added afterwards, my squads are almost done, my guns are more than superior, i like everything about it and i dont see these 15% dmg boost as really necessary to split my ass apart farming for it

Like if i’ll get one day a better equipment ill be fine with this, but for sure this shouldnt be the goal. Look at it as end game content to rewards those who play same games for years.

Oh - duh!! lol

Alright Darkflow, you had the moment of making fun of testers by scaring the hell out of us by this upgrade system but
meme its time to stop

Because this is not funny, not anymore. This is serious and dangerous direction you are taking.

They have taken* it.
50% on 95 parts is terrible enough as is if even mooelu doesn’t want to grind his ass off to get it you know something’s wrong

why include them in the first place.

exept, soldiers are not like weapons.
grinding for soldiers it’s somewhat acceptable, but not for the guns, as literally takes almost four time than a normal soldiers.

considering my lack of time at my disposal for video games, i just managed to make 21 soldiers in the range of 3 and 4 stars ( halfy maxed out ) can’t say the same about weapons.

it’s just stupid, and utter ridicolous.

it’s becoming like war thunder, a game based on frustration.

exept, war thunder is dying, and survived long enough due to the few competition. and enlisted will not survive long enough as there are many others games with similar attitude., but in order to help a product like this, it’s really hard with the current state.

it’s not the same thing.
there are planty of ways to make players attached to the game. and i’ll tell you that much, this one ain’t working at all.

a third of players that were supposed to test this game and help already dropped complealty from this game, the 2nd one third it’s trying to save this game but from what i can see, ( included my self ) just a bounch of delusional people. and the last third, just don’t care not deciding to " vote ".

like, rewarding your progress, make archievements that unlocks certain things. requiring effort will and can hold the playerbase.

not some shiity forced transactions ( because the mark it’s more clear than ever )
where will make this game banned in many country due to the RNG system.

it’s funny how some people never learn from mistakes made by others.

Cuz they want people to pay money to get them. Mark my words: They will monetize this.

It IS* worse* than war thunder, actually.

Sounds bout right.

What I have been saying ever since my enlisted will die post

It’s funny how some people take others achievements and make them into failures. Until you realize that warthunder isnt dying and is a good game which indeed may be set as a good example of how things can be done - you wont be happy with any of mmo-session game in my opinion. Its time to acknowledge that enlisted is not going by default path of fps shooters, thousand of hours to be spent across progression is exactly what it needs and i see no big difference if its gonna be achievements pools to make 1000 headshots to unlock a rifle or 1000 battles to get upgrade parts. There is literally no difference in these ways, except for personal preferences, which gonna still end into forcing you to play 1000 hours or stay on lower tier or progression were you actually belong if you dont have enough time to play the game you initially like (but somehow dislike as it forces you to play what you like - makes not much sense for me). Im not trying to offend you, just mean that if you’re an amateur gamer like many others - you shouldnt pretend for an end-game content until you play it during years. And there is nothing wrong with this, some people play games for years, as they dont play often, others push same things in 2-3 months and quit. People are leaving every game regularly, it doesnt means something is wrong or something is dying, its just different approach for the gaming.

It is failing to grow on its own and has seen a drastically lower % player increase because of Corona compared to any other game, while seeing a larger and larger ammount of people quitting the game because of its issues.

It might take a while for it to be official, but war thunder is dying, slowly. Still not comparable to how fast Enlisted is gonna go down in flames

Gee I wonder why making a game actually enjoyable is the default path.

Maybe because the game will die if it isn’t enjoyable

Going off the beaten path rarely works. It has to be done through well designed mechanics, not through RNG

You know what i mean, but if we talk about joy - the game is already very much enjoyable. Like yeaah - gui isnt perfect and most of stuff in the lobby is actually not fun, but the game itself is fun and shiny. And even these lobby activities, through not being very friendly - still makes me happy when i see some gun successfully upgraded or new high level soldier ready for battle.

this is 50% of the game, pretty much. If you havent equipped your soldiers properly in here, you wont have a good time in the actual game.

But negativity bias says that you will hate it more when it fails, on average.

Except for all the moments where you know you should have gotten a kill but lack of damage upgrade and/or enemy having vitality perk results in you not getting that kill. Which happens with like 30% of people you shoot at, if not more.

And no the average player will not just overlook that. They will see the bullshit premium soldiers get away with and say P2W. And at that point it does not matter whether it is actually pay to win or not anymore.

Honestly, think about it this way:
If there were really a lot of people thinking like you, why aren’t we rivalling Crossout’s or War Thunder’s playerbase during their early access? They had at least 3x, but more around 10x the playercount.

and it improves over time, management isnt really a thing to get some fun, its something you do in many games to actually make some profit or evolve

Not really, many players are used to random chances and failures, every mmo-rpg has weapon enchantments, starting from ‘youre going to loose everything including your weapon for a slight chance to increase’ to ‘hey, its just failed, keep going’. Its possible that people expecting to see here standard mechanics of any shooter maybe irritated, but believe me - there are many other players who wont be and others who even going to like this, which brings us to a ratio 1/3 (1 group of 3 unhappy).

Like if you know the rules, you know the difference, and still expecting someone to die everytime and than raging when it not happens? - thats only your fault. You making completely wrong expectations when shooting people, its not the game that just randomly let someone not die by adding random hp bonus, its hard coded game mechanics and you, as experienced player, should be aware of this. Want to be sure that a target dies? Shoot into the head, or expect everyone to take 2 shots. This way you’ll rather stay happily surprised when people die instantly.

Can very much be fun if done right, which it ABSOLUTELY is not in Enlisted.
Otherwise we wouldn’t have games like City Skylines, where all you do is manage stuff.

You call 50% fail rate an improvement?

Please give examples where this is the case and there is no matchmaker, and have a playerbase large enough to support the game for a year or longer (30k+ people at least)

Dunno where you get this from, but scientific studies have shown if you make ANYTHING with a large positive and a large negative and both happen roughly equally, aka 50% upgrade fail chance, the negative feelings will outweigh the positive. This is an OBJECTIVE, PROVEN FACT.

Yes, if I outplay someone I expect to win. I did not deserve to die because the other happens to have an OP item or perk that nullifies a skill gap.

 I expect people to die if I pump 3 SMG shots into their back, not to turn around and kill me with a single shot thanks to their vitality perk and upgraded guns  totally a wrong expectation

There is a difference between shooting a heavy in tf2 and shooting a vitality perk user in Enlisted - in TF2, you KNOW he has more health, and that you should be more careful as a result. In Enlisted, it might just as well be random as you have no way of telling who has Vitality outside of premium soldier users.

Oh and even if you expect people to die slower, at some point people will kill you faster again because they got the gun upgrade, flipping it the other way around and having you die from random leg shots

And at that point you have to expect people to take 2 shots while you take 1 shot, so that results in absolute trash gameplay.

I still wanna know how these magic upgrades tie into realism and you folks still haven’t given a valid response to why people that look exactly the same can magically take more damage.

No talking about willingness to keep going is not valid. Numbers are numbers.
No talking about variable weapon effectiveness is not valid. Numbers are numbers.
Progression isn’t realism
So why not go full arcade at this point and add literal magic abilities
What about giving an engine +50% power for tanks? “field modifications” or “removing the limiter”
And give the gun +50% penetration? “field modifications”
Tank armor +35%? “Tank vitality because not all tanks were created 100% equal”
Sniper highlight targets they aim at? They see better than other people
MG gunners double magazine size? Some used extended mag field modifications

While I find it hilarious, please dont give anyone ideas.
I think that this progression may even be acceptable if 70% was a lowest chance (wait, don´t shoot me yet) and there were only two levels per weapon (old system) AND at the same time there were no vitality perks while all action bolt chest hits should at least down the soldier on one hit (where upgraded gun can achieve one shot chest kills easier… yes it sucks but we cant honestly expect much better I guess). That way weapon upgrades wouldn´t really be mandatory because guns without damage upgrades would still do the job, upgraded weapons however will only make job a little bit easier.

As for SMGs/LMGs… thanks to flinch unless enemy got health perk (there we go again…) he is pretty much as good as dead when he gets caught in the fire. What would be problematic are semi auto rifles.

Thats the core gameplay. When you launch a shooter you dont think “f…i miss city skylines so much”. You play city skylines only when you really need this type of feeling. Managing stuff (items / soldiers / market / stash / auktion and so on) in every other game is a side part of the game, important, needed, not very fun, but necessary to actually progress.

Academy got improved

Literally every mmo-rpg and pretty sure im not going to claim that games under 30.000 people are not successful, that’s a bullshit. Every game that offers job places and actually makes money to allow real people work, get salary and buy food and stuff for their families - is a priory successful and fully working.

This has nothing to do with what i said. I said that ‘enchantment’ system which is very famous for years MAY be perceived by players in 3 way:

  • i like it
  • i bear with it
  • i dont like

And not like you say its either i dont like or i like it. So there is no chance amount of people thinking negative will outstand amount of people actually enjoying the game. And if you read feedback from this forum, im pretty sure you wont find every second player complaining about upgrades or claiming he is going to leave the game because of upgrades.

Like 50% of americans are not happy with government, but we know this only because government actually asks them, this does NOT mean that 50% of americans want to leave.

First of all this is team based and squad based game. I dont care about Lone Wolf, i believe it shouldnt be in game and for sure we’re not going to change the core mechanics of the game to make someone happy in an alternative game mod.

And yeah, if you shoot someone from behind, expect to win and you can NOT kill someone from behind - my god…there is a huge gup between your expectations and your shooting skills :stuck_out_tongue:

Realism != simulation. People dying differently is pretty realistic.

They are already presented but covered behind ‘realism’. This is exactly how a realistic non-simulator game looks like. And this is exactly what makes this game interesting.

believe me, they already have these ideas. Given with how they added mandatory perks to tankers and pilots that you NEED to compete there (stamina tolerance, gun reload, etc), I am just waiting for having to research FPE seperately from parts  and also have engine, gun etc upgrades

But why not 100%, other than to just PISS PEOPLE OFF SO THEY MIGHT SPEND MONEY
The people that wont spend money arent interesting to Gaijin so they are perfectly fine with those people leaving even if it means the game slowly dying.

That would be ideal, but I used word “acceptable”.
I did so because the amount of parts on only two upgrade levels of old system wasn´t so draconic (it was still bad, but far better than this).

But of course all my previous arguments remains unchanged, that I would prefer upgrade chance being removed completely.
