You could be right but I think all PPD’s should have the same handling Drum is heavier and more stable but box is easier to hold
but then why would you use the box over the drum?
one of you two was complaining about we getting all MPs that are effectively the same and the drum being the only good PPD for russia
you mean the mode where you are defending and the germans hsave to attack? are you seriously gonna compalin abotu invasion?the germans run at you and you have the sun on your backand again there’s controlled fire also don’t use the it does less dmaage after a few meter bs PPD does the same damage as the PPK it’s the same round you just need to control your fire best case scanario you can aruge for a sligth recoil decrease other than that controlled fore can work great especially with the fire rate cause guess something when youloose control with PPD you have certianly fire more round than MP
Well drum completely replaced the box in production. It’s a more modern weapon. But for balanced reasons, your idea is not bad
Not exactly. The drum mags stayed in service because the rate of production for the drums was too slow. They made more guns than drums.
Interesting, my vision was: I look at the ww2 pictures i see mostly drums but few box guns. Russians didn’t like to take pictures of box guns i guess
propaganda comrade. They also disliked the complexity of the drums so they went back to the larger stick mags for the PPKs and later PPSHs
Well for the PPSh it’s a weird story. Both drum and stick magazines were produced until the end of the war. Some soldiers preferred the drum because of the high ammo capacity, but some soldiers didn’t like the reload complexity of the drum so they sticked to box magazines. It was more of a soldiers choice. Even now, some weapons are getting back to drum technology. For example, they made a new LMG called rpk-16 which looks like an AK-12 with a huge 91 round drum.
A lot of modern drums are actually belts inside drum shaped containers. Are you sure it is a drum?
Off course. I read a lot about this weapon, apparently it can use both drums and sticks. Drums can carry huge amounts of ammo, but this is a forum for a ww2 game so i won’t go off the topic too much
The issue with old drum mags is that they were very prone to fail to feed and to cause jams. Box magazines were much more reliable. Add to the fact that some ppshs/ppds drums only worked on ppshs/ppds made in the same factory, adding another issue to them. The technology at the time didn’t allow drums to be as reliable. Modern drums are much more reliable with little increase to feeding issues.
Stop crying, PPK is already op
pdd should buff the recoil same as mp40,high rpm make high recoil when recoil same as mp40
ppk is very good gun,but ppd is useless, you even can’t get a hit on medium range.
The trade-off for high RoF and large magazine is recoil. I don’t understand what players are whining about. It would have been reasonable if they were asking for PPSh at later levels. But right now, they want real world guns with fictional stats which is far from everything Enlisted promised to be.
And if you think the PPD is useless, you are just a bad player. PPD has its uses and so does MP. Different ones but that is how it is supposed to be.
I just play Germany side now, it’s very nice gameplay, just a game, i don’t want to play poor side,I choose join powerful side.
So, as I sad before PPD with a box magazine can be a highly specialized weapon with a lower recoil compared to the PPD(71) due to its ease of holding and lower weight.
However, its long reload does not go away, which radically destroys its belonging to a weapon for close range. A @5762269 proposition is a 24% faster relod perk. Fair trade. It could be at 4 or 5 star.
It would give the PT(25) a chance to become a more or less tolerable barrel.
the 24% reload perk is already a thing. It requires 5 weapon perk points, as can be seen in my guide:
Thx, so with a bit lower recoil PPD(25) can be tolerable gun for begginers and could be given to veterans with perk. Btw doubt somebody will use it on five stars.
Main reason was frosen drum - it have a lot of misfire.
