The game doesn`t feel rewarding

I must admit its really surprising for me to read such comments, Ive played a lot of online games, and to this day I thought the DbD community was the most toxic Ive ever encountered, but the community of corporation sheep is more concerning to say the least, no offence to them mind you, I was just born in different country with no such culture, so I simply cant understand this mindset.

There is a game out there called League of Legends, and there is a Russian server there, where for years devs would create special events for this server specifically, giving away 30+ chests with cosmetics for moderate amouts of grind, the event was there because Russian server was considered rather poor and online was not that high, so these events were tools to raise activity and to create a stable playerbase, who are holding onto their skins. Even then, the whining was too high, so there are no more such events for years already, but you still have an option to obtain free quality skins through free chests, which are given for good perfomance on champion, and with keys to open them, given for good behavior, plus occasional spheres from events. With all the possibilities to get free, but random loot, there are A LOT of people, who pay ludocrious money for skins, every single time there are new ones, even on Russian servers. With all that, the gameplay itself is equal for everyone, and the game is perfectly fine to this day, we are talking about jobs in a multi-billion company, being fine with giving some of their content for free, and in 2023 we have Enlisted devs.

In all fairness LoL has those runes, glyphs or whatever they’re called. Having a full, meta set of those back in the day, and now, I assume, would be comparative to having 75% reduction body armor, FG42s with laser sights and chambered in .50 with 500 round magazines.

It wasn’t too hard to get a new hero last I checked. That much is absolutely true. And you had a weekly rotation of free to use heroes that could include just about everything.

Sorry Im not quite following you? Not sure what your point is.

League of legends started out Selling Champion pack, Runes and Glyphs, to avoid the grind. Now I haven’t played for years but I cant imagine it is any different now. It was massively grindy aswell if you want all the champions, They also sell skins and other merchandise.

I think that you are just starry eyed over LoL that you perhaps have overlooked that its no different than enlisted (in principle, not price)

This, really. I’m just hoping real hard they won’t go full gaijin with the upcoming changes to progression.

There is no such system for more than 7 years or something, crappy mechanic, but a product of its time. Champion grind is not that painful like in Gaijin games, at least not all champions cost the same, those that more cheap are easier in their mechanics for new players, I am not defending the thing, I`ve unlocked all champions VERY long ago, and even on new account you at least dont have to grind for a week for new high-cost champion with old ip system, which, mind you, is not physically stronger then cheaper ones, its a different game for long, long time, and now the only progression is cosmetics, and you get new toys on regular basis for free.

Its a type of f2p game with cosmetic-based monetezaion first of all, and its the only game I know, except Battlerite, which deliberately implemented a system to hand away said cosmetics for free with no requirement to grind, that I why I said that. With such system they should be losing money, but we see that complete opposite, Riot make new games now, put shows on Netflix with quite expensive animation type, and makes new cosmetics/champion regularly. Ultimate greed leads only to stagnation, in WT you at least have an opportunity to make pretty dollar from events, they at least handing free mbts once in a while to dedicated players, which are the main win-con of the game, it is a way for f2p players to have something to do at least, I shall buy some prem squads/prem account for year on sale for that 90 dollars I got from the last crafting event, but man with such greed Enlisted wont live for half of what WT did.

That might be because they made their money in the opening stages of release when they “did” charge you for everything extra, and because it got so big on the esports scene they now get their money through sponsorships and streaming rights.

Dont forget LoL has over a decade on Enlisted, in which it has time to evolve. Enlisted is potentially in its infancy…although it will never follow LoL into Esports nor be as popular, therefore I doubt pricing model will go anywhere but up if Warthunder is any indication.

League of Legends generated 1.75 Billion in revenue in 2020. I can guarantee someone is paying for you to have “free” content.

I sure hope the game would live as long as LoL, too many good games have died on my eyes for one reason or another, but mostly because devs poor decisions, one should learn from others mistakes.

Gaijin can be accused of many things, But Warthunder has been around for 10 years, doesnt really have any competition and is frequently being updated. It just keeps expanding. For all its flaws, its still great fun.

Enlisted has the advantage of same publisher, same engine and reusable assets so it has a piggy back ride available. I am hopeful in 10 years from now, It will span many wars, ww 2, korea, vietnam, gulf war.

That potential is there.

It’s not the same dev, only the same publisher.

sorry, I knew that and actually specifically looked it up to word it right…then still didnt do it…I will correct it…*facepalm

In any case its still using warthunder assets, even though dated ones.

To return to LoL, that game has a publisher, the playerbase and the funding. So much funding. Enlisted has Seedy Sergei, Greedy Gennady and Bandit Boris pushing for vague premium squad 80e preorders. Back in the day people wanted to lynch EA and Bethesda for 2-3e DLC

and you get it, absolutely free…bless your heart

(I Imagine this guy when I think of marketing, James Bond…you get a free book with buying huge amounts of Columbian pure lol. cracks me up)

Just out of interest (not directed at you HK_88 just sharing), and this is for you too @130569279 , your comment peaked my interest.

Now this goes with a grain of salt, as It was just a quick google search and I don’t know how credible it is, but I’m certainly not willing to put in the ground work to test.

To unlock all the champions (163 champions I think) for free in League of legends at ONE game a day it would take you roughly 3424 days/games or 1712 hours unless I am mistaken…(one game averages at 30 mins…again…google). Feel free to do the math for how many games you do, or time you spend daily.

that’s like 9.5 years (at one game a day). It clocks up and as I havent played since the early years, I dont know if there is a “premium” boost to make this faster.

Source if interested.
How long do we need to play to unlock all champions with Blue Essence? - Not A Gamer.

League of Legends generated 1.75 Billion in revenue in 2020. I can guarantee someone is paying for you to have “free” content.

You are supposed to main one champion anyway for max effectiveness, its recommended to have 2-3 champions per role in your pool, not more, and as I`ve said, I am an OG League player, so I have all the champions (some from that 30+ chests events) and lots of spare blue essence. I dont know how long it takes nowadays to unlock all the champions, but trust me, from all the champions, I have a pool of 20 max that I play, and the amount of champions you have doesnt give you an advatage over other players, not like I encounter T-34s and Pz IV Fs in Moscow or get annihilated by Fedorovs in Berlin. while only having bolt-actions in my squad. There are xp boosters I believe, yes, but they are so hidden in the very ass of a store one wouldnt know they exist, while in Gaijin games you get slapped with the message to buy prem every single time you enter the game and beyond. Dont forget that prem account in Enlisted also gives you literal in-game advantage of being able to use 2 more squad slots, while in League you can get a month of double exp every month by collecting Twitch Prime capsules, basically for free, along with champions, currency, skins.
P.S. To back up my words, here is the screenshot taken from the source you ve linked

Oh i remember slapping around newbies in LoL with my full damage/pen runes and masteries in LoL all too well. Snowball out the gate. Are runes and masteries not a thing anymore that give you a massive advantage? Even if they arent now…they were for a few years. And here is enlisted, bringing in tiers for matchmaking. Exactly what you want.

That logic applies to all games, encluding enlisted…what you have essentially just said, is pick a main, practice and get good at it.

Its not much different…but anyway…thats besides the point i was trying to make…free to play grind was my focus

I was playing since 2016 or something and I dont remember being slapped for that 2 months of something when that system existed, for 7 years there are no more runes giving you advantages, the runes are equal for all, and in the last patch the have made rune page for every champion in game so you dont have arrange them anymore (it took 10 seconds anyway), also Enlisted is not moba, there are no characters to grind, as said before here, Enlisted has much more competition, and being f2p is a great advatage over other games, but being nominally f2p just isn`t enough, something has to back it up, to hook new players, and 8k exp for 10 minute game isnt inspiring at all. The original theme of the topic was the suggestion to remove time bound for rp gain, and I still think it wont hurt anyone at all, make the game even better I dare say.

Well that explains it. You are not so OG. You didn’t play in the first 7 years of the games life. I did right from the word go 2009. you missed the teething and learning. that’s a lot of time to develop. Give enlisted a chance, its only 2 years in.

Nah, I was 9 years old then and had neither pc nor internet connection, civilazation comes slower to Slav countries, nothing to do about it, still, you dont play League now yourself and oblivious of how the game works today, we are both equally incompetent in your words then. Still I saw enough games in their early stages and most of them just died, like the recent “new” moba game Fangs, devs should work for game`s longevity from the moment it was made public, even if I buy several 60 dollar squads in early-beta-version-of-a-game, who can guarantee me the will live up to its release and its not just a cashgrab? And the pricing looks kinda suspicious to me, you are paying full AAA game cost for a fraction of content, while not having an option to refund if the game doesnt match your expectations. Like devs are afraid not to make profits or something? Why then, if they are ones who are making a game in the first place?
