Instead of giving us an MG on sandbags, lafette mount is realistic plus it reduces recoil. Height can be adjusted (you can set it high and use it as an anti-aircraft gun) and players can build sandbag cover by themselves.
2. The community wants M1910 Maxim heavy MG on wheels
Maxim is an iconic ww2 weapon using the good ol’ water cooled system. This MG was the standard soviet heavy machine gun of ww2. The variant you see in the picture is M1910/30 which was produced from 1930-1945 and saw a lot of service even in the Vietnam war.
It had a shield which protected against pistol caliber bullets (and even rifle bullets at long range)
Now, there was a discussion whether it should have a shield or not. Here is a small poll for you to decide:
[poll type=regular results=always chartType=bar]
This MG was not better than the MG-34/42 but it was good enough to do get the job done
Low RoF will allow this Machine gun to keep shooting without overheating the barrel which will make it great for noob friendly combat.
Why shouldn’t it be a question? Players have right to vote
You don’t have to bring toxicity where it shouldn’t be brought.
I won’t argue further
I agree to some extent that they should have no shields, which is why I’m one of the people that voted for MG nests to be on sandbags instead, to much of the community’s shock that people voted for that. If the MG gets destroyed, at least there’s a wall of sandbags that still provides some cover.
My opinion is based on the fact that I never get drilled by machine guns enough to warrant them being too powerful, but whenever I play engineer my machine guns only survive 3 minutes at absolute best, if even that.
If it weren’t for the sandbag wall I’d die and lose the machine gun together in the process; so I absolutely dislike the idea of mg tripod mounts.
Maybe I’m just not experienced enough to understand why others hate the sandbags so much.
Yes, so you clear the LMG from long range with a rifle, then close in to wipe the rest of the squad, or use the SMGs to clear that teammate he is talking about to enter the building through the window after all.
