Testing expanded BR for maps

Even without mentioning historical accuracy.

I strongly oppose this approach. The design of some maps was originally deeply tailored to specific weapons and equipment, and these inherent synergies help foster players’ strategic awareness. However, the current BR (Battle Rating) matching system is disastrous when it drops low-BR players into maps designed for higher-tier weapon setups. Due to the maps’ structural design, low-BR gear typically lacks the range, firepower, or usability required for these advanced environments. Meanwhile, high-level maps demand sophisticated game sense that newer or lower-skilled players often lack. This mismatch creates frustrating, one-sided matches that ruin the experience for everyone involved.

Ask Gaijin not me. I would love to see a hundred new maps to have true variety all across the BRs but with Gaijin not wanting to fund game to reach it’s full potential it’s not going to happen. We have to work with what we have now and letting us to play low BR maps at higher Br is the best compromise.

Why did you remove Normandy from BR1 and BR2? Many of the iconic weapons of Normandy are there, M1A1, M1 Carbine, MP40, Kar98, etc.

Great but i don’t care what other people are playing. And it’s not like we haven’t been playing on Rzhev and Stalingrad with those tanks plus BR5 for many months.

MG42 100 is not that much different from MG34, i’m not interested in BR5 for Tunisia so why include that? BR4 should be the limit because unlike Moscow it doesn’t have many flanking routes and is too open (no trenches either). FG42 would be fine for Moscow like i said previously i see that campaign as both 1942 but also 1944-45 campaign as maps are so generic. BR3 Soviet PPSh-41 box is a real laser beam that are still not fixed.

maybe high BR in low BR map is ok, but never the low BR in high BR map.

I prefer 1 to 3, which is what it always has been.

Well, I don’t want to encourage players to play BR4, America and Japan have nothing there, only Germany and the Soviet are playable there.

“We” is not true

I think a more meaningful test would be to isolate BR5 for a week or a month. Reversing different maps is not a particularly valuable study.

I think this is great and I have no idea why everyone has an issue. Now the Tiger can finally play in the sandbox where it started

I don’t know why there needs be a test just to have all maps, all BRs, but whatever

ALL MAPS, ALL BRS

I’m not included in your “WE”

Just give us map selection it would satisfy both communities

Because British sandy-colored A13 and American water-based Seagull fighting against interwar Italian M13/40 and HS 123 Biplane is anything but not Omaha Beach 1944.

You can always take some of them to your BR3 setup – I constantly play with MP-40 and K98 in my loadouts because Iconic > Efficient.

You continue to act as though I and others are wanting some sort of completely historical accurate mil-sim styled game, you KNOW that is not the case yet continue to argue like it is.

“The fact that you still stay at this point says enough.”
You don’t get to decide for me when it’s appropriate to leave a game, lol, you’re getting ridiculous.

Great way of making game even worse. I would never play Sov BR5 ever again with only crappy Berlin 24/7. With Leningrad and late eastern Europe we could do this but not now. Map selection is a must for people like you.

Maybe add a new game mode tab like how we have tutorials, practice, squads, and custom matches. The devs can combine tutorial and practice together and add a new one called squads- all campaigns allowing people to play what ever and keeping squads with their BR preferred maps, guns, and vehicles.

I think taking away maps with their battle rating makes the game bland and un unique because I played certain factions at certain battle ratings to get certain maps in rotation but if it gets combined into all battle ratings theres no point of playing 2 of the 4 factions that are currently in the game when 1 of those 2 factions would see all the maps.

Well you’re right, but I’ll accept it if the Battle of Italy is added, just playing Tunisia and taking my British troops to the Pacific would be boring (there’s also Burma, but it’s just one map and it’s very boring)

I was literally talking about my own map bans there. If the Devs decide to go full R after all.

Hell, do whatever you want, but give me map selectability right away, I’ll be out of all the Tunisia and Moscow matches in BR5.

You are right, there are some details telling us that DF just want to open all maps to all br.
