Suppression and slowing the game down

Yeah battlefield 3 & 4 definitely had really good suppression systems. Wouldn’t mind something similar.

Overall, slowing the game down slightly I think would be a good idea

visual suppression → OK

more weapon deviation → horrible

Battlefield 3 had insane amounts of added deviation after being suppressed, Battlefield 4 “basically” only had visual suppression.

I am completely aware it is an arcade game. I am saying that it has a lot of the ground work to BE one. A simulator mode like war thunder has would be ideal for this imo.

Added sway is acceptable, I dont like random deviation though.

all I’ve seen is people complaining about these features mate xD especially for superhuman perks, automatic spam is something what some people get behind for some reason though

Yeah people dont tend to complain about things they like.

Well, 90% of the game is bot slaying, sometimes it feels like a second job so quicker its over the better.
Maybe the new custom games mod / tools whatever grants ppl ability to make more enjoyable version of lone wolf for example in such I wouldnt really mind limited weapons.

you’re right though some of the forum threads got lots of likes so i based my word on that

Bruh, those complaining are from the people who want this game to become more realistic. If people don’t like those features why so many people are spamming it? There is many arcade people in this game.

Talking about “slowing down”, am I the only one who thinks that infantry currently runs uphill too easily?

many people confirmed that they do that ONLY so they aren’t at disadvantage. Including me, finally after the merge i can hopefuly go with my low BR squads

i agree, but there’s a lot that aren’t. Like me, my first impression of this game was this good because of sim-like features. In my opinion, if the game slowed down a little it would only gain and it wouldn’t affect as much arcade players i believe.

Doesn’t mean that most people dislike it lol. In reality you will more likely see complain about something instead of praise unless that thing is really good.

I don’t think it will do much. It is hard to find balance to please both side.

You are literally arguing that the game is garbage so the faster its over the better, but you dont want it made better lol. All you care about is unlocking stuff and gaining currency, not the actual game.

The positive reaction to this point only screams to the accuracy of what I have been trying to say. The war thunder community for example is in love with the mix of arcade and sim features and the advent of the mouse aim controls mixed with the heavy vehicle simulation. A mode that emphasizes this across the entirety of the game would be ideal and make this the true “war thunder infantry” experience. Many of this games playerbase come from war thunder. Any time infantry is mentioned over there, people are sent here. Its important that this game becomes the best it can be and as things stand it is desperately in need of some form of suppression and a slowing down of the game overall. Aircraft could also operate closer to their “RB counterparts” in war thunder in this new RB or Simulator mode. In general, the division between arcade and RB is integral to war thunder and the same should be said for here. Yes, some want to hop in and just sprint through gunfire, but a lot of this community are looking for something slower and more methodical, with squad kit customization and the simulated vehicles of war thunder mixed with infantry. This suppression could be very basic at first, but I feel that it is so sorely needed that a huge priority should be given to its development. As things stand the game is not in it’s right place and this feature alone could be the first step on a new path that ultimately could rally people around the game, as well as draw more of war thunders community.

Not really. As said in its current state its not even remotely possible to make it to anything else than run n’ gun game.
Bots aka AI being one of the biggest reasons for it.

Well I do, just not in the way you wish.

The immersion alone would be worth it, but in reality the game actually needs it for countless reasons ranging from improving the quality(and usage) of maps and the balance of objectives and game modes. The lack of suppression completely negates any defense fortifications from mattering, people just quickly pop up and headshot people out of every mg and can easily pixel hunt players all day long with no worry about bullets flying past them.

The game having 0 suppression is an absolute nightmare for balance of an attack and defend style game mode and it makes tons of beautiful map design pointless, when most people simply run out in the open from point a to point b with no need to use the well designed trench networks and buildings as cover. The run and gun gameplay you want would even be made better by suppression, because it would be extremely effective at confusing enemies that you just sprinted into and began to shoot at. I highly recommend reconsidering your stance, it makes very little sense. At bare minimum there should be a realistic mode with this as an option and an arcade mode that is as-is, similar to war thunder.

It makes sense for this game to have this as an option at least. A lot of the playerbase is from war thunder anyway.

i agree very much, they should implement a very gentle supression and see how it’ll turn out.

in my last game there was a moment that enemies were shooting at me and at the same time there was an explosion somewhere near me and it gave me this screen shock, it looked like supression, very cool feeling. Definetely would fit this game.
