Current pistols in general feels bit weird. I wouldnt mind if all of them received higher multiplier for headshots for guaranteed kills.

With this I disagree, snipers already have the range advantage. And imo, the lack of vitality for this unit is definitely justified by above mentioned range advantage.
Camos, no killcam & longer spots in other hand are all good ideas.
Could give snipers silenced pistols, regardless they used to be gold order with smg ? If i recall.
Could even make it so that with silencer theres no killcam, downside being more bullet drop and slightly less dmg ( silenced snipper )
Im not against it, just seems unnecessary.
Doesnt really suit to this squad, as earlier mentioned the range advantage and imo this squad just shouldnt be able to tank any extra shots regardless with what they get shot at.
Buffing snippers as squad, should focus on spotting to make them even remotely useful to team.
One way of improving the spotting would be granting the snippers ability to mark enemies to map.
Aka theres AA behind haystack, you cant get the direct spot on it but you know exactly where it is you could mark on map the position, either direct position or approximate position like circle on map similar to artillery.
But as opening map and marking locations for team would take too much effort for majority of players.
Id rather have this in form of regular spotting. You know the location where the AA is for example, but cant get direct spot so its marked as approximate spot aka circle on map.
Dunno how hard it would be implement to the game or even impossible.
But imo improving the snippers spotting ability would be the way to go to improve this unit.
It don’t work with the actual squad gameplay because:
our map mostly favour moving gameplay and the actual sniper squad it can achieve it, but your rework propose to much stuff for a solitary run or for long range sniping who end in camping
without a hard limit of your reworked sniper squad more than two people running it is going heavy handicap the team offensive ability
I dont know how you would put that in…unless you make the player the spotter and anything you hold in your binocs the AI squaddie kills…lol…but if you are going to be aiming at it you may aswell be the one shooting in a game.
you still have that option, you can still spawn the squad as it is currently
that’s more a case of the player making bad choices. cant fix that, and they can make equally bad choices by hiding in some random building trying to snipe with a squad as well as without.

although… AT guns AA guns are crew served already, we might get it one day, enlisted crawls forward slowly, enlisted trailer showed us dual mortar barrage. It’s probably indeed difficult to do but same time it makes superb impression on trailers etc
It’s a different case I think. Those guns are basically vehicles so they can have crews. I doubt it’s possible to easily coppy this for infantry weapons.
