Reworking the Rate of Fire of Rifles in Enlisted

Lets take Type Otsu Rifle as an example… 420 rounds per minute
In what world can a human pull trigger on full rifle caliber 7 times per second?! (420 / 60)

This leads to stupid moments like this…

Your first shot does something and the rest turn into popcorn blanks and this itself is just stupid looking from gameplay perspective

My Proposal
BR 1 Bolt Action Rifles → 40-50 RPM
BR 2 Bolt Action Rifles → 50-60 RPM
BR 2 Semi-Auto Rifles → 100-120RPM (5 Mag)
BR 3 Semi-Auto Rifles → 100-120RPM (10 Mag)
BR 3 Semi-Auto Rifles → 140-180RPM (5 Mag)
BR 4 Semi-Auto Rifles → 140-180RPM (10≤ mag)

BR 5 Full Auto Rifles

  1. Real Life full auto rate of fire (when fully upgraded, underperform when stock)
  2. Increase recoil after 2 full auto rounds to LMG levels

Example
Type 38 Rifle - BR 1 -----------------------> 42RPM
Type 1 Rifle - BR 1 -------------------------> 48RPM
Type 99 (late) - BR 2 ----------------------> 55RPM
Type 99 (early) - BR 2 --------------------> 60RPM
Type Hei / early (5 Mag) - BR 2 -----> 100-120 RPM
Type Hei / early (10 Mag) - BR 3 —> 100-120RPM
Type Ko (10 Mag) - BR 3 ---------------> 100-120RPM
Type Otsu (5 Mag) - BR 3 --------------> 140-180RPM
Type Hei / Late (10 Mag) - BR 4 ----> 140-180RPM
Type 4 Rifle (10 Mag) - BR 4 ----------> 140-180RPM
Hino Rifle (15 Mag) - BR 4 -------------> 140-180RPM

Note
The rate of fire shouldnt exceed this figures even after the rifles are fully upgraded

This would be more realistic option since these Rate of Fire’s reflect real life performance

To Maintain better balance against SMG’s, all SMG rate of fire should underperform vs real life and only perform correctly when fully upgraded. Currently they have correct rate of fire when stock but overperform (vs real life) in rate of fire when they get upgraded

Actually if DF took the time to review the true specs of each and every gun it puts into the game, took the MOST COMMON model gun specs and made them all accurate, the game would be much better, and as I said in another post that people wouldn’t be able to whine about buffing a certain gun because another enemy gun is inaccurately overbuffed. If a gun sucked in real life, it should suck in Enlisted, no matter what the faction. :yum:

Example, the German FNAB 43 in the game shoots I believe has a game ROF of 460. Maybe I missed it searching, but I have seen nothing that says it had a ROF of 460. It says it had a ROF from 600 to 837, and that 837, and there were some rated at 400 ROF, but it looks to me like the most common model used shot somewhere between that 600 and 837, so I would have rated it around 700. Hell, even the low 600 would have been better and DF could have claimed some accuracy.

Every gun in this game needs to be reworked to be somewhat accurate, period. Of course, as long as DF continues to add Cowboy and Indian era weapons, what does it matter?

Disagree, 40-60 is a PRACTICAL RoF that probably includes time for reloads. It is not a hard limit. Recoil is already in the game to limit practical RoF.

Locking RoF to one shot per second on a semi-auto would actually be painful, and also make them borderline useless up close.

US Rifle Line could look roughly like this

BR 1
M1903 Springfield - 42RPM
M1903A1 USMC - 45RPM
Enfield P14 Rifle - 48RPM

BR 2
M1917 Enfield - 52RPM
Ross Rifle - 55RPM
SMLE Mk III - 58RPM
Lee-Enfield No.4 - 60RPM

BR 3
M1 Garand - 100-120RPM
M1941 Johnson - 100-120RPM

BR 4
M1A1 Carbine - 140-180RPM (15 mag) [Same damage as semi auto rifles but lower end]
M1A2 Carbine - 140-180RPM (15 Mag) [Same damage as semi auto riles but lower end]

BR5
T20 Rifle (20 Mag)
M2 Carbine (30 Mag) [Same Damage as Semi-Auto rifles but lower end]

They dont include time to reload

I want you to try something. Go in to practice with a semi-auto rifle. Aim down sights, click to fire, imagine that you continue to click, and time out a second and a half. See how long it takes to get frustrated.

If you want to really be annoyed, try that in a match.

It’s nothing exceptional, just ask Google.

Is this even serious suggestion, lol?

Upon closer inspection i updated the rate of fire figures

here is from quora on AR15, not full rifle caliber, but it is just about how fast you can pull the trigger.

An AR 15 doesn’t shoot any bullets on its own. Neither does any other semiautomatic weapon. An AR 15, like all the others, is a tool. It is designed to send one bullet down range each time the operator pulls the trigger. How fast can the operator pull the trigger? That varies with the operator. I have been cautioned by range officers because they hear me doing rapid fire. For me, that’s around six per second. I used to play saxophone, and I developed fairly fast fingers. Others, especially pianists, are faster. Even so, eight per second is about as fast as I’ve ever encountered. At that speed, aiming is basically “broad side of a barn,” if you can control the muzzle rise.

here is another

Thats a pistol with pistol calibre cartridge whch is far weaker than full rifle caliber
Im not asking to nerf pistol rate of fire

this is purely about pulling the trigger, not about aiming. cartridge doesnt have anything to do with it.

still better than artifically nerfing semi ato rifles by making them shoot popcorn when you shoot at 420RPM for balance sake

  1. i think that nobody is shooting even close to max rpm in 99.9% of the game
  2. even if they were rapid firing SA rifles, recoil makes it that it is impossible to aim at anything except extremely close range in front of rifle.

This overwork will however add more balancing features

For example…
SVT-38 is BR 3
SVT-40 is BR 4

Yet i see no advantage in performance on SVT-40, all i get is pain facing tier V german stuff
If SVT-38 was 100-120RPM and SVT-40 was 140-180RPM with better (lower) bullet dispersion and bit better recoil then there would be distinct performance boost making it higher BR worthy and the two guns would feel different

No this is bad idea and not work. I remember they nerf all Battle rifle have rate of fire only 200 rpm

i dont remember this being ever the case and if it was, should of stayed that way

Before stalingrad campaign update i remember

clearly you’ve either never been around guns or never even watched videos of people shooting. You can mag dump a semi-auto pretty much as fast as we do in-game, it’s just that in both situations its pretty shit if you wanna stay on target when shooting anything rifle caliber (that’s why battle rifles haven’t really been a thing since the 50-60s) - it’s even worse in-game cause then there’s the hilarious amount of shot dispersion you get when rapid-firing a semi-autos.

How long have you’ve been playing the game? DF did this exact same thing way back and it was probably one of the shittiest patches ever because it made every semi-auto into a steaming pile of dogshit to use at even the mid ranges in which they would have otherwise had an advantage.

Honestly I wouldn’t mind a lot of bolt actions getting their ROF increased cause some are just far too slow even for being bolt actions, but otherwise your proposal is just terrible.

did you just click 7 times in a second?
