? I have never heard about the speed debuff. Where did you get this info from?
Really?
Really? The Enlisted Resource makes no mentions of it, only the damage reduction…?
I remember someone mentioned it on the forum a long time ago.If not, then this is also a solution.
My prefered solution to the problem, it’s a bit of a misconception that armour makes you slower, really it’s not that noticeable, what it is is bulky and tiring. Increased stamina drain is more realistic!
10% speed reduction and 20% increase in stamina depletion rate.
just put it in bag slot and you have no problem. that way you choose between damage reduction, grenades or ammo.
It would certainly be difficult to implement, as armor is not available for many Soviet uniforms (for example NKVD uniforms).
I’d rather make that +20% position change time (switching between crouching, standing and lying down) and increased stamina drain. Again, armour does not slow you down that much, not to the degree where I think it needs to be represented in the game, stamina drain and position change speed more than enough represents the mobility drawbacks of wearing armour.
Maybe armour could even be something you equip in the backpack slot? To truly represent the extra bulk. Not my preffered solution, I’d rather it stay a cosmetic option with some clear utility, but not objectively better than all other alternatives.
Btw Sina, I own a set of medieval armour (a breastplate, a gambeson, some chainmail and a helmet, not full plate) for reinactments and LARPing, they are quite a fun hobbies, with just as much arguments about history!
This will work.
this is really cool! for the king!
it doesnt even need to be cosmetic. body armor would be pure functional equipment and you can decide if you want to equip it visually or not.
that way you can have effects of body armor for those who want it and actual cosmetics without having to wear that shitty body armor.
well, I would not trust data shit claims from the old times because back then most people did not know about the data sheet and still relied on shooting range screenshots.
especially if it comes from a (Russian) SU main…
Generally speed is affected by weight, speed bonus and perks etc. and afaik cosmetics do not weight anything or have speed bonuses or penalties.
And even then, there is a perk for a few shekels that negates the perk, but there is only one expensive perk that grant your more HP and can be technically stacked.
Then you might as well create body armour for the bagback slot.
This could be something unique to the Soviets, like that Japanese suicide anti-tank. Why not?
if this was contained to one squad of assault engineers i would agree with you. but considering that every soldier can equip it, then i would make it available for all nations. although i doubt that it would have much usage if it demanded bag slot.
Well, I prefer the ammo bag to anything.
well i am just against locking gameplay mechanism behind paywall/faction wall.
that is why devs need to:
- bring assault engineers for every nation(like they promised year+ ago) and have them available for new players also(maybe have events where you could earn old squads?)
- have custom paratroopers for all nations(and not just soviets)
- have paratroopers in general in TT(preferably those custom ones)
- either remove body armor from soviets or remove it from cosmetics and make it functional equipment for every nation(aka bag slot)
The problem - body armor only changes the shot to kill on rifles that deal under 15 dmg or SMGs that deal 6.8+ dmg.
So Soviet SMGs wont be effected by this other than increased damage drop, while the only Soviet semi I can think of right now that deals under 15 dmg is the BR3 SVT, even the new BR2 semi deals 15 dmg.
that is why body armor under bag slot is ok compromise. having half the ammo is big downside for SMG/SA/SF rifles.
That’s nonsense. It affects all weapons. It is effectively reducing dmg drop off over distance of all weapons.
But realistically it doesn’t make a difference to the overall balance of the game. It’s just a flavour that makes the faction more distinct.
BUT i guess we simply can’t have anything interesting. Because people are pretending like Enlisted has some kind of moba level balance.
I can’t wait until these balance warriors want to narrow the range of perk points in which soldiers can be rolled. Because there’s a possibility that someone is just playing perfectly rolled soldiers (basically any veteran I guess) vs someone doesn’t have to worry about perks at all.
In fact, we should abolish the whole perk system in the name of balance.
That would be for the best. Let’s go full CS.
