Remove helmet and body armor effect

This idea has come up many times, I’m here to bring it up again, I’m tired of hearing the cries of those who associate their low skill with body armor, very few people use these things, remove the effect so that maybe these people will suffocate.
About the helmets, too. I believe their impact should be eliminated, their impact applied unrealistically to the game and it’s not interesting. Let’s just make everything just for beauty and everyone will be happy.

No. Don’t give into the minority group of cry babies.

Helmets should only protect you from smaller pistol/smg rounds and also shrapnel, there should be a small ricochet chance but don’t count it on to save your ass.

And Soviet Turtle armor are just silly nobody would be using them as they would be too bulky to run and operate guns.

They are too lazy to design this system. It would be better to remove it completely.

I’ve never used them (because they’re ugly), so for me it’s better to remove those ridiculous things.

Honestly yeah, the body armour looks cool, I wanna use it for my assaulters, but I dont want the advantage of it.

I would just remove all body armor from the game as every faction had it, but it was rarely used since it was heavy and cumbersome. Why are the Soviets the only faction that has it available int he game to begin with, just like with only offering the Soviets the only paratrooper squad with changeable weapons loadouts. Seems like DF didn’t put a lot of thought into it…Or did they?

maybe give the user a negative speed affect to aiming down sight/bringing the gun up after running, sprinting, and climbing if they chose to use the body armor. I think having the armor gives the Russians a unique option compared to other nations

Yeah as for why they got it, who knows cough

But otherwise it was far more commonly in use with soviet forces vs other factions, so purely as a cosmetic, I like it.

A reason to actually pick drip over (marginally) useful effects?

Sure.

helmets should protect against bomb shrapnel but nothing else, i think getting shot in the head by 7.62x54r would put someone out regardless if it pierced the helmet

Its funny how you rather blame my skill instead of acknowledging that the ability to survive one extra shot without any negative effects is simply unfair but okay whatever.

It’s funny that the ones who cry most often about the body armors effect are the ones who play low BR matches most of the time.

Where on a daily basis you can encounter newbies who don’t have max ugraded equipment (literally 10% difference like body armors), don’t have fully equipped soldiers and mostly have undermanned squads.

But it’s the body armors that pisses these people off. They don’t care about the rest.

Nooo, you’re supposed to be standing against the Soviets’ nerf, not for him.

comrade, this is better for everyone. If this thing is removed, we can free the things that are rightfully ours (T44 100 and AVS 20) from the hands of the devil.

you can take your 20rnd avs and 20rnd avt with bubnov drum as long as the fg42 gets its bayonet flipped forward and stats buffed, deal?

I’m not against bayonets, but i am againts buff! FGs have much less recoile than AVS and AVT.

Helmets only protect against falling shrapnel and debris, they don’t even protect against pistols. Since the game does not have a system for falling rocks blown away by explosions, it’s impact is not worth having.

Even bomb shrapnel is questionable as they still might be fist size junks of metal or larger flying at you at mach 2.

Guilty as charged , though you could have been a little more generous in the characterization of people complaining about body armour. I get that it’s a rhetorical tactic, pointing out that the oposition has some points, even if they’re mostly just needlessly complaining. Of course I know already you belive as me, the effects of body armour is poorly modeled and does not realisticly represent how they worked in reality, and therefor the effects should simply just be remove.

In any event, thank you good sir for picking up the fight!
