I would rather argue that rifles like the MKB could deserve to be put into BR4 - since they are a downgrade to STGs and other max BR rifles.

All I would do is place mkb42h at tier 4 instead of 5. Which would become relevant once there’s a mid tier queue.

Actually that one’s fairly historic. Things like SMG’s and, for the US, M1 and M2 Carbines given to backline troops such as medics
I am not too familiar with allied weapons and can’t 100% accurately compare them, but when speaking about FG42 vs FG42 II for example it is from a stat perspective clear which is the overall better weapon.
Despite the first FG having much better sights, the second version is overall an upgrade.
Same goes for MKB vs STG.
The question here should be if those differences are worthy of separating them into different BRs - and if comparable differences in top rated Soviet selectfire weapons also exist - or if those performance differences are not big enough - yet through balance changes those differences could be made more apparent.
For me personally its kinda sad that there are a couple of downgrade weapons that became completely obsolete. I mean I have a whole bunch of MKBs and even 4 of those gold order MKBs and they are basically non existing.
I mean MKB was the open bolt prototype version of MP43 and STG44, obviously it performed worse.
I personally think a small nerf in accuracy because it being an open bolt gun seems fair, and then putting it into BR4 to be an alternative to the Beretta would make sense.

Current BR5 for germuts atleast is quite cramped of guns that has 0 use after you unlock the last gun.
MKb is rather good example of such gun and to be fair, id skip it entirely and use the kiraly untill mp43 / stg44.
Considering the fact that with linear progress tree theres alot less grind, the mkb is quite useless transition gun as kiraly is just slightly worse at mid range but far better in cqc.
Hence, guns like FG42, AVS36, MKb could be easily moved to BR4 and one those br4 berettas could go br3.
Same goes for murrican tommys, one of those could go br3.
But untill there are proper BR locks, I dont really think any of the “better” guns can move much in BR tree.
Regardless how useless they are in BR5 they would sitll be rather good in lower BR’s

hot take:
mkbs and fedorovs can be nerfed in a way that they are equal in power & mechanically different from the best BR4 SMGs, then lowered to BR4 and opened for engineers.
obv will only affect engineers in br4/5 games.
is it balanced? → AVTs/FG42s are better than the currently unnerfed MKBs, so thats no problem.
Fedoroves can be adjusted accordingly and there wont be any issues regarding engineers making assaulters obsolete & players, especially all the bad ones not using engineers, have more incentives to use that class (permanent lack of rallies shows there are by far not enough incentives).

Yes, mkb is worth tier 4. Nowhere as good as mp43 or 44.
No, there’s no Soviet equivalent, the Fedorov having vastly boosted stats in every aspects.
However, maybe ppsh41 could be tier 4 at this point (with the legacy german captured one)
But honestly, right now tier 4 is just a filler tier anyway. It would only become relevant once there’s 3 queues:
1-2 , 2-3-4, 4-5.
