Preliminary patch notes for the "Forest Shadows" update

Weapons and soldiers

  • Added new weapons:
    • StG 44 (S) (Germany BR V, Premium)
    • PPSh-41 (S) (USSR BR V, Research)
    • M2 Carbine sawoff (Japan BR V, Research)
    • Thompson M1 (S) (USA BR IV, Premium)
  • Changed the BR of the Solothurn S18-100 from II to I.
  • Changed the BR of the Bren Mk I 100 from V to IV.
  • Changed the BR of the Lanciafiamme Mod.41 d’assalto from III to II.
  • Increased the number of Panzerfaust 100 (USSR) carried from 5 to 6.
  • Increased the base rate of fire of the AVS 36 from 600 to 800 rounds per minute.
  • Added an additional spare magazine to the P08 Luger Platinum and the Nickel-Plated Colt M1911A1.
  • Increased the base damage of the Krieghoff FG to 12.7.
  • Fixed the incorrect poses of the PPSh-2 and U-2 (Collectible) squads’ soldiers in the hangar when using pistols.
  • You can now keep aiming between shots with a number of weapons and their variants: Nagant 1895, Winchester M1895, Lee-Enfield No.4 MkI, Ross Mk. III rifle, Ithaca 37, Winchester Model 1912, Winchester 1887, Mannlicher M1895, SMLE Mk III.
  • Added ability to change the nationality of soldiers (for Germany and the USA).
  • Reduced the Gold price of customization pieces:
    • Head: 60 → 30
    • Torso (with pants): 360 → 180
    • Torso (with attachments): 240 → 120
    • Torso (basic): 180 → 90
    • Hands: 60 → 30
    • Legs: 60 → 30
    • Headgear: 60 → 30, 90 → 45, 120 → 60

Vehicles

  • Added new vehicles:
    • M36 GMC (USA BR V, Research)
    • Bfw. Jagdpanther G1 (Germany BR V, Research)
    • N1K2-J (Japan BR V, Research)

  • Replaced the T-28’s Shrapnel shells with APHEBC.
  • Replaced the Pz.IV F1 and Pz.IV E’s HE shells with HEAT.
  • Improved the turning speed of the Sd.Kfz.251/1 and the Sd.Kfz.251/9.
  • Replaced the J2M3’s 60 kg bombs with Type 5 No.6. Mod.9 rockets.
  • Replaced the Hurricane Mk IIB’s (USSR) ROS-82 rockets with RBS-82 rockets.
  • Corrected the position of Me 410 A-1/U2’s pilot, so the legs no longer clip through the texture.
  • It is now possible to switch to any of the gunners in the following aircraft: A-20 Boston MK.3, A-20G-25, A-20G-25-M8, Ju 188 A2, Sb-2m, Su-2 (M-82), AP-1.
  • Added unique names to aircraft obtained from the Battle Pass.
  • Fixed a physics related issue with the Type-94 Isuzu that caused it to flip over from minor collisions.
  • Added the ability to change the scale, rotation and condition of camouflages.
  • Increased the damage area of drop tanks and reduced the time it takes to burn from full health: from 7-8 seconds to 4.5 seconds (without using medkit or extinguishing the fire).

UI

  • Added the ability to keep the unique decals when changing camouflage on certain BP and premium vehicles.
  • Added an “Incognito” option to the Contacts menu. Now you can hide your online status from your friends and avoid receiving pop-up notifications.
  • Added a “Group is recruiting” option above the START button. This feature allows random players to join your group.
  • Added icons for the different artillery strike types to the call window.
  • Added a notification when the controlled vehicle is being repaired.
  • Added a filter when changing weapons or equipment.
  • Added a mission rating system.
  • Fixed a bug where the autofill squad function could add an extra soldier to an already full squad.

Graphics

  • Improved the visual representation of bullet holes on glass.
  • Changed the muzzle flash effect of anti-tank guns.
  • Improved the visualization of ricochets from large-caliber guns.
  • Reworked the explosion effects of drop tanks.
  • Improved the physics of fire spreading from explosions.
  • Improved the details of smoke effects of shots.
  • Added visual effects for weapon overheating during intensive firing.
  • Separated the effects of armor-piercing and high-explosive shells.
  • Added unique visual effects to aircraft cannons.
  • Increased the damage radius and improved the fragmentation effects of high-explosive shells.
  • More realistic visual effects for wounds.
  • Reworked the effects of hits.
  • Added special firing effects for cannons with muzzle brakes.
  • Reworked effects of destruction of tanks and aircraft.
  • Reworked the visual effects for aircraft bombs.
  • Reworked the explosion effects of artillery and mortar shells.
  • More realistic effects for large-caliber shell hits.
  • Reworked the explosion effects of grenades, explosion packs, mines and TNT charges.
  • Reworked the explosion effects of Molotov cocktails, Ampulomets and Northover Projectors.
  • Reworked the volumetric lighting for light sources, lamps, lanterns, chandeliers and other objects.

Sound

  • Updated the sound effects of ricochets from large-caliber guns and small arms.
  • Added new hit effects on tires.

AI

  • AI now stays further away from the player while building, aiming and firing.
  • AI now reacts more actively to firing positions and will attempt to leave dangerous zones.
  • AI now turns more smoothly while running.
  • AI now positions better in areas with little cover.

Locations and missions

  • Fixed the AI’s vision through bushes. Also improved this system for trees that are large enough to hide in their leaves.
  • Added new missions: Wald (Destruction), Wald (Invasion) and Wald (Confrontation).
  • Fixed issues related to effects in the “Pokrovskoe City” mission.
  • Improved the placement of vehicle spawn points placement in the “Mountain Pass” mission.
  • Adjusted the rate of reinforcement point depletion when one team captured all points in the “Myansera (Conquest) Large” mission.
  • Fixed respawn related issues in the “Ministry Garden (Destruction)” and “Ministry Garden (Assault)” missions.
  • Fixed errors related to object placement at capture points in the “Pokrovskoe Village” mission.
  • Improved the placement of infantry spawn points and ammunition resupply points in the “Birch Grove” mission.
  • Improved the position of the respawn camera in the “Quarry” mission.
  • Adjusted the placement of the ammunition resupply points in Stalingrad.

  • Fixed the AI’s navigation on the fort’s stairs in Tunisia.
  • Fixed a lamppost that couldn’t be destroyed properly in Berlin and in practice mode.
  • Fixed a floating sand pile in Moscow.
  • Fixed the incorrect occlusion culling in the cathedral in Rzhev .
  • Fixed a gap in the trenches in the “New Georgia (Conquest)” mission.
  • Improved the AI’s navigation in Rzhev, so they can climb through the windows of the monastery and the church more frequently.
  • Removed rocks from vehicle spawn points in the winter sections of the Ardennes.
  • Reassigned the effects of window destruction to match the window size.
  • Fixed the collision of the chimney caps on Flemish style houses.
  • Fixed the position of a window arch of the monastery in Rzhev.
  • Fixed the positioning of masonry ovens in wooden houses in Moscow.
  • Fixed the texture flickering of shops in Berlin.
