Or they could just lock them to assaulters only for gameplay reasons, instead of handing them out like candy. No new modes needed, and the perfectly fine weapons are balanced. Simple
Full autos really aren’t that big of an issue. Your just reducing the flexibility of players. I mainly only use the full auto mode on the FG42 in CQB for room clearing it can still be beaten by most weapons at range and beaten by smgs up close.
A bigger issue is plane spam, artillery spam an mortars. Because let’s face it nobody enjoys being on the receiving end of those. They don’t require much skill to use and disrupts the core infantry combat experience.
I wish people would stop making such a big deal about historical accuracy. It’s a f2p ww2 game designed for people to have fun. If you want to learn history go watch a documentary or read some books.
some regulars troops used the m2 at one point so i dont understand why all the whinning
and its all what ifs cause if u use historically accurate Germans loose on all fronts lol every front thats the most accurate but there in lies a problem cause the game is no fun winning every time and making them loose like history so ur historically correct isnt correct so its slightly off for balance to fill gaps in nations campaigns and cherry picking limit guns to certain classes they have done that already!!! so if u see more than m2 or fg 42 who cares just have fun playing the game quit dividing people and enjoy that u can have the freedom to choose what u want to take just saying
ditto
Or. They could balance the game properly by locking the full auto guns to assaulters only? I dont see why you are seething about “historical accuracy”
u guys are u cherry picking things that annoy u
Or htey could balance the game properly by having an actual economic system that reflects rarity and effectiveness and doesn’t allow you to field whole armies opf whatever you think it is a superweapon…
Not seeing it happening tho - so time here is probably limited - real shame - had lots of promise and I was quite excited until I realised hte full implications of “get a new squad every level” progression
I mean WT is not exactly historical either - but I still play it 5 years later and it has a lot of my money because it does have a sort of economic/effectiveness system - despite all the silliness of BR MM it is better than Enlisted’s complete lack of anything.
What else do you do with things that annoy you ffs??!!
How about we DONT add a shitty economy that leads to war thunder gameplay?
Yeah no, WT’s economy system is fucking dogshit and should stay there.
Limiting the rarer weapons by class alone would honestly be enough.
A limit to semi-auto per squad maybe as well
But the order for troops/equipment is fine as it is.
I legit don’t know what these guys are going on about… The M2 isn’t all that and really is only a substitute for a poor man’s Assault on a non-standard squad.
The Garand is still a better all around weapon.
Honestly more for fairness to lock both M2 and FG-42 to assaulters than to leave the M2 and give naziboos a reason to bitch.
A shitty ecopnomy won’t result in WT gameplay because this game is nothign like WT - so how about we don’t make stupid comments along those lines?
How about adding a good economy instead?
I seriously. seriously. SERIOUSLY doubt that gaijin would allow any sort of fun economy to happen. It will be a grind, it will be horrible, and it will translate to people playing like chimps that have been tortured their entire childhoods and sent out to fight or go back into the torture chamber.
There is that, sadly… which is why a lot of ppl will leave this game - I’m only doing premium month-month…
Except then you’re trashing USA gameplay if you include a semi-automatic limit, given the Garand and M1 Carbine were the frontline standards.
What’s really ironic is that almost NONE of them have tried FG42 by themselves(I personally recahed levl 23 within a week and nobody could be more familiar with this gun than me. And devs should have also used this gun a lot just take a look at their twitter). You can judge it from the fact that they are keeping suggesting to restrict FG42 to gunners(just like what they imagained FG42 to be) which makes no sense. That’s why I think they should add FG42 to the practice mode. What they imagined: a LMG(in this game means assult rifle with fully powered cartridge, even though it’s nothing historical) for everyone. What’s the reality: a semi-auto plus a MG-like CQC(means:inside a house) capability. Even when you shoot farer than 10 meters it’s almost uncontrollable(4x vertical recoil per second compare with MP40).
Meanwhile the M2 carbine does less damage than that FG42 of yours, being worse on the whole in nearly every conceivable way, and has bugged sights to boot. A lot of the call-to-nerf on the FG42 comes from the fact that it was introduced with an objectively far inferior contemporary (Which is also bugged). There’s also that it’s also objectively superior to the semi-automatic rifles in both campaign trees due to it’s lower recoil and larger magazine, while having the same damage as the semi-auto in it’s tree (The Gewehr 43), etc.
Thus the FG42 in comparison to it’s immediate competition - the M2 carbine, The M1 Garand, and the Gewehr 43 - is significantly superior of a choice to all of them, regardless of the range or situation. It’s compared to gunner weapons because, by the numbers, it’s closer in stats to a BAR than it is to the Gewehr 43 or the M2 carbine or the like.
So my suggestion is to reduce the recoil of M2 and introduce Mp43 as its counter. Perfect solution. Everybody would be happy apart from those who come from hell let loose.
I mean, others and myself have been advocating for the same for a while now, for example I make that suggestion in my overall campaign rebalance thread; Suggestion for Normandy Campaign restructure and rebalance
But yeah, the MP43/1 is about as close to the ideal counterpart to the M2 carbine as you’ll realistically get.
