And that more then anything is the cancer that’s killing ground WT. No offence. I did it myself. But it’s Godawful when the best way to progress up a tank tree or stay fiscally viable to continue playing is to get a premium CAS and go huntin’ rather then playing, you know, tanks in a tank mode.
Well, that, and unbelievable, unlimited greed. I swear I’ll never forgive them for killing naval like they did.
That’s how it works with the gaijin games, they ALWAYS deliver fun april fool’s events, and I LOVE it alongside many others
Sadly we usually have to wait for a few majors for things like this unless enough people complain in which it’ll either get it’s own hotfix update or will be fixed in the next major
Yeah I get that its a sore point, but hey, Im a pilot first (tanks werent in warthunder at first), its what I like to play
and quite frankly short of a pe-8 bomb, I always found planes bloody easy to shoot down with aa.
i dont do the scout tank, cap die thing either. I fight naturally, and when I die then comes out the plane. (and my first priority is air supremacy, so planes first, then ground strike)
but I know the cancer you speak of.
i actually really love naval still…except that no one brings out coastal, so you win every game, but nothing to do because everyone is in cruisers and battleships.
Precisely. Got really annoyed with people after the new update was announced and historical accuracy. Enlisted is not 100%. historically accurate. But it’s not over the top, not crazy cosmetics, and at least everything in game is within the WW2 period, just not always in the right period.
No i mean Paratroopers being able to spawn over-the-top of the enemy rally points, and land behind them. (thus destroying rallies, with minimal effort).
How many people build AA guns? Not many…
So 99% of the time, you won’t be seeing anybody shooting down paratrooper-planes.
How many people try to shoot planes with their light weapons?
Not many…
So how many do you suspect are paying attention to the sky, to watch for paratroopers falling from behind?
(There’s only 10 players on a team, and many times 1 or 2 are in a tank, 1 or 2 are in a plane, and only a handful are infantry. Who’s going to try shooting paratroopers, unless they are landing directly ahead?
The maps are relatively small, and even further confined as each objective moves to the next…
You also have to consider that many times… matches are composed of squads that are controlled by the A.I.
So. You might have a team that only has 5 or 6 human players, and 4 or 5 A.I. Squads…
How many people are available to watch out for paratroopers, who can literally land ANYWHERE on the map (with a 90% survival, provided they don’t deploy directly ontop of enemy soldiers).
How does any of this make sense?
"Oh because they are fun. Because whoever plays with them, is able to slaughter the enemy with 100 drum mags, It’s super fun! Try it!
It’s a fast pace, run-and-gun FPS, with a WW2 theme/cosmetics.
Realism and historical accuracy is no longer a priority, and what we have are small maps that are full of explosive spamming, unbalanaced teams, and now paratroopers that further shorten the games, and allows players to practically instantly-capture flags with minimal effort.
All they gotta do is land near an enemy rally. Destroy it. And force the team to spawn back from their original base.
Here are the steps:
Land a paratrooper squad in the back corner of the map (on the enemy’s side)
Look for rally points
Shoot the enemy in the back, but only if necessary (destroying the rally is 1st priority)
Destroy the other team’s ability to spawn close to the objective.
Kill the stragglers, flankers and spam the idle squads at the rear of the objective .
Kill anybody running from the spawn
Hold your position, and wait for your team to capture the point.
Rush the next object and wipe out whoever happens to be there, before the rest of the enemy team arrives
Kill as many as you can, while you capture and wait for your teammates to catch up.
Rinse and Repeat until you win.
Game over
How fun is that?
Or another strategy with the troopers:
Deploy ontop of the roof of an objective.
If there’s windows, use them to clear out anybody below (they won’t even notice you’re there)
Hold the roof, and don’t expose yourself to unnecessary gunfire
Capture the objective
Kill anybody who comes through the doorway, with your 100rd drum mag.
Wait for your teammates
And of course…
If you have multiple players on the same team, who all have paratroopers, you can do both!!!
How cool is that!?
Does it make the game more fun?
Dude what are you not understanding? Enlisted never was perfectly historically accurate and it’s not going to. It’s not like you’re getting killed by premium Army Rangers with M16A1s.
Ah I get it. Your teams just suck. Landing a paratrooper and looking for rallies are both huge if’s. Most players are competent enough to spot a drop and attempt to fight. The closer you drop to the zone, the more likely you’ll find resistance. You also don’t need paratroopers to find enemy rallies. A single soldier of any class is more than capable of sneaking behind enemy lines.
Alright well, we’ve tried to explain this to you. Paratroopers are quite balanced and very fun to play. They are not pay to win, if for no other reason that F2P players can get them too. You should get the event squads and see how well that rather foolish formula works for you. If not, no big deal. The rest of us will continue to enjoy playing them.
I got the Rikusentai one, plan on getting the US one as well. 35% more stamina is =/= 35% more HP. Which stacks with vitality.
And a carbine in 7.7mm that does 26.4! damage and is as far as I know the currently best bolt action in the japan arsenal is not equal to one of the, if not the best SMGs in the game. And which also happens to be the 100 magazine version. On every soldier.
I said it once already and I maintain that a squad with those guns or that perk would be a beast. With both it’s downright overpowered. With both, situational loadout you can pick each time you spawn AND the ability to show up at an angle which bypasses all defenses such as emplacements or covering snipers it’s downright crazy.
I don’t have a problem with paratroopers as such. It’s a great idea that just needs some polishing. Access to hard landing would be nice. Not being able to cheese certain buildings and roofs would another thing to balance them. Hell, add the tetrarch while you’re at it and call it a Market Garden event.
What I do have a problem with is that people who are not willing to pay 60 bloody euros or so for them have no answer and no par. Maybe they’ll have in six months but they definitely don’t have right now. And at least let them have 2x or 3x said thompsons and a BAR as an assault kit and give them somewhat normal weapons. They’re just too good for what they are even when you don’t put them in hands of some of the best players out there.
That’s fair, I like the Paramarines a lot more because the M1 with folding stock feels a lot more like something a paratrooper would carry. Plus… those guys got some serious drip
I’ve yet to have a paratrooper squad land without one being dead - usually 2 or more - I suspect due to a bug so… i’m not pickin’ up what you’re puttin’ down. I spwn 6 and get 3 -5. Not a huge advantage.
Exactly. They’re really good but not exceedingly so. They can turn a game around, like any other squad if you’re a bit lucky and know what your doing and most importantly - the map suits them. The thompson squad might be alright for say Tunisia but even one such squad, and I swear to God I recently had a game where there were 2-3 up at any point, is a landslide and then some. Too compact maps that favour CQC, and those guys absolutely delete entire squads in seconds in CQC.
If the entire team was on TS or such we could probably coordinate a defence but between regular players doing their thing, the obligatory russian chanting something in cyrilics and at least 50% of the team unaware that engineers exist as an option you just don’t have the time to react. And even when you catch one of them. God help you if there’s a second or third around your back.
The implementation of paratrooper is is ridiculous.
It was ridiculous when “people” were saying how “cool” it would be a couple of years ago, and there is no scenario where it will ever be otherwise in this level of game.
It is entirely consistent with Darkflow’s concept of how stupid the game should be - every squad represents a separate division or regiment FFS, Jumbo’s on D-Day, etc., etc.
And you need to resign yourself to the fact hat it’s never going to get better - the game is descending into WW2 Warhammer further with every update.
Got my taste of Paratroopers in Pacific using the Japanese squad. I even found out where to get engineers from the box to build an immediate rally point near the next cap.
Maybe this would help me justify get a Soviet VDV squad in the future depending on the price even if paratroopers don’t help much in city maps with limited places to land. The way the planes show being on flak feels so fake knowing what’s going on with the ground with barely any air defense.
Yet another post made basically just because OP doesn’t enjoy something so he’s calling it overpowered, broken etc with hope devs will nerf it into oblivion. That’s somehow classic on this forum I would say.
