It would work if 75% of the early tanks had something else than AP rounds.
You are wrong. The jumbo player was told he was fine and not strong, yet I’ve seen him make 200 kills each unless I devote the game to fighting only him.
These fights have been over 4 months old, so it’s only fair to wait that long, no?
›Its okay to ruin the balance of the game via powercreep when its MY side
Do us all a favor and stop posting
That is why I suggested giving newbies their own place to fight.
So if someone wants to seal club, just equip the same things beginners have and they can just destroy them all to their heart’s content. If you’ve gotten used to the game you can basicly deal with anyone and anything. Any recruit soldier with a detpack in his pockets can blow up any tank they meet (because tanks are what people bring up as the main problem). The only problem they might run into is the gray zone, but any tank camping in the gray zone is annoying, even an M5. Experienced players will always be challenging to fight, even with bolt actions. Tools are just there to be used, they will only be useful if their user handles them well.
And he didn’t kill me. he just shot at the infantry and ignored me. He stood up extremely intelligently and was literally not vulnerable. I died from the infantry that got to my position.
What “lower part” of the machine gun port are you talking about. At 100 meters in the haze you can no longer see anything, especially when the tank is at an angle, and the sighting reticle and indicator obscures you.
It is a difficult task in any case.
When it was the other way around and I said “let’s do it fair,” nobody cared. Why should I now?
I still have a broken fw-190, it’s unplayable, worse than the first fighter.
Jumbo was practically invincible for 4 months and allied reinforcements were 200-300 tickets a point. The Allies didn’t care when the advantage was on their side. They won 70% of the games and thought that was the way it was supposed to be.
I had lost hope that anyone wanted justice. Everyone wants everything for themselves, so I won’t agree with those who said jumbo vs pz4 is a fair duel.
That’s on you and your team for not running up and detpacking him even if it cost you your squad to the grey zone
Not the lower part, the front of it around the actual MG barrel is where it goes through reliably even at a distance for me
It is difficult, but he really can’t hurt you back while you walk your rounds into it. It also means that everything aside from the PzIIIN can harm it frontally.
Its tough but it ain’t invincible
Both it and the M2 carbine shouldn’t be there because they were not there IRL, but killing the Jumbo unless he’s sitting on the beach firing all the way up to the further points on D-Day really was never that difficult.
Its not justice if the end result is powercreep offering an even bleaker situation in a different direction, that’s the issue
By all means give something that can crack the Jumbo, but not at the cost of being impenetrable to everything the other side has aside from a TD that’s unlocked at the end of the campaign
No, nobody knows how to shoot there. I’ve never been shot there, people just don’t know how to aim and don’t know how.
Now a lot of people try to break the panther cannon, but I know how to stop them from doing it. Similarly, I can interfere with aiming at the port machine gun, if I played on the jumbo. If the player doesn’t know how, that’s his problem.
The only allied gun that can pen it there currently in game is the 85mm D5-T and 85mm ZiS-53 in Berlin.
You literally described how to play jumbo but with the Panther, see the pattern?
I this problem is really resolved for you with the Panther, stop complaint about the jumbo.
“asymmetrical balance”
this isn’t justice though, it’s making the problem worse
Now I’m not complaining about the jumbo.
I don’t even expect my team to mark tanks……I just look. for muzzle flashes.
Although since they opened the game to old gen console players, I haven’t been able to leave the ground to fly a plane for even a run
Could just remove panther and m10, replace jumbo with e8 sherman. Or replace jumbo with e8 sherman and replace panther with stug.
Well on the other hand the allies added a tank that can penetrate the panther, but is not invulnerable to it (m10). Isn’t that the same thing?
Now each side has 1 very hard to penetrate tank.
Now everybody gets an impenetrable fortress from the front, and as a counter there is 1 specific tank that in a certain condition can do something.
And im sure the next “tank update” will be the same.
Yes, each side has 1 such tank. Still, in the end the panther has more vulnerable areas for m10 penetration than the jumbo for the panther.
At long range the jumbo gets hit in the machine gun and sometimes under the turret, but it happens extremely randomly.
M4A3 with a long gun and Tiger E? Personally, I’d like that.
The irony. It used to be exactly the same but in reverse.
After months of dealing with the extremely overpowered jumbo, the awful normandy balance is reversed. I think it should stay like this for many months as well so that those who were defending the garbage tank that was jumbo learn their lesson.
Jumbo still needs to be removed from Normandy. Period.
What I see there is an utterly incompetent team which does not bother bombing that Panther. On the other hand, bombs require very price aiming to be able to kill tanks. Therefore, most players prefer to use rockets instead. And rockets are completely useless against anything that is not an Stuart or Puma.
The issue with Normandy isn’t the tanks, but awful maps with tons of open terrain and no reliable counter against the tanks.
Before the bomber nerf which made bombers almost useless, you would not have considered sniping with your tank on the beach. You would have been dead in under a minute.
Those have already switched side/campaign
