hmm, I will probably try it again, I just decided to skip it for now so I could work on other sounds like the SMGs and pistols and rifles and not get hung up on the MG42 since it was being a pain to work with

Is there an easy way to swap out an individual sound file? Iâd like to change the M1 Garand and Type 4 Rifle firing sound but donât want to bother you with it since I already asked about the Johnson Rifle / LMG
yeah, go ahead and google for âfmod bank toolsâ use it to extract the .wav files from the ww2_weapon_rifle.assets.bank file, then swap out the garand firing sound, use the same tool to put the .wavs back into the bank
the type 4 rifle literally uses the sound from the garand, so they will always use the same sound unless darkflow changes that
Totally understandable, just a shame cuz the MG-42 is so iconic
yeah, i understand, the way the mg42 sounds are set up is very weird, the sound is played at a different pitch in the game so the sounds i insert will end up being different, which makes the process of perfecting the sound very annoying

Hey, not trying to piggyback too hard on this, but I am trying to replace menu sounds and whenever I replace the sound files the game automatically detects the files and replaces them with OG files on startup.
I am using fmod to repack the files, and they are slightly larger files, about 20KB larger total in the end.
Do you know how to avoid the game auto detecting and replacing the new audio files?
Create a folder calles mod in sound folder

In the fmod read me text it says the audio files you are using to replace the old sounds have to be the same size as the old sounds.

For some reason when I replace the main menu music, the music seems to glitch out for the duration of the original menu music. After it will play my added music tracks. I did only replace enlist_theme1 and enlist_theme2 in the sound files. Does anyone know what is causing this?
the file should be cmn_sfx_effect.assets.bank
any ideas when the sound files will be merged?

it was merged with update 3.0
The mod is super, but when a heavy machine gun is firing, there is no sound of shots. if this is fixed, I will return to using the mod
Can you tell me what gun specifically? I will look into this
