To improve it we should introduce a new class.
That class would be similar to a engineer but nerfed as to not be to op, lets call it combat engineer.
This combat engineer wont have the ability to build anti-tank or anti-air guns and no machine guns.
He also wont have any ressources on him, instead the vehicle would haul materials (instead of ammo) for him and he would only be able to build inside a 10m radius around the bike. If the bike gets destroyed then he wont be able to build anything. That way the bike wont act like an APC like others suggested but more like a support vehicle.
(To differenciate him even more we could make him carry guns from the assault class but I am not sure about this one)
We could even introduce new vehicles like jeeps and KĂĽbelwagens armed with a machine gun that would act the same way and we should rename rider class as support to have them under the same designation.
Nah. This is dumb. Riders should instead be renamed Reconaisance and have the ability to spot and track enemies in real time like we can do with tanks.
With a choice of a motorcycle which can only carry three or an APC which can carry more, I always take the APC. However, if DF would drop the rider class to level one, I would use them, especially in factions I have trouble filling my eight or nine slot squads.
Rider squads should get access to more vehicles, like jeeps and staff cars with machine guns on them, those vehicles would then accept a 4th soldier. (Not gonna lie, the Universal Carrier squad should then become a rider squad, not a APC, that just makes more sense).
Vehicle marks made by soldiers in the rider squad should stay longer, just like binoculars, and stack with binoculars as well.
These are just some ideas that I think would expand the usefulness and coolness factor of the Riders, without reinventing them or adding yet another class to the game, that’s jsut unnecessary.
Adding vehicles would be neat but the problems would still be the same. Longer marks just isn’t enough to make it worth. Not to mention that you could just spot more often with regulars soldiers and get the same results.
Some people wanted to make it an APC wich wouldn’t make any sense.
My thinking was that puting an engineer could balance the pros and cons but it would be to op. Thats why he would have to be dependant on the bike and have less capabilities.
Perhaps we can allow other soldiers to take out a better hammer from the motorcycle(This hammer will have a construction speed of 150%), which can build rally points faster.
Additionally, we should ensure that the motorcycle cannot be marked as it only has 3 soldiers and should have better concealment.
Dont get me wrong I am in favor of more spotting and I do it all the time, its just that I rarely witness randoms doing it. And yes I played battlefield a lot so I see your point.
as a number 1 and biggest proponent of riders ( for what is worth )
i’m kinda open to all ideas.
but what sounds to me, is the ability to spawn with a logistic truck and perhaps ( more easily ) spawn with already a weapon that the truck gets to tow around. so… essentially engineers with a truck but with extra steps.
imo, towing feature should be in the game by a long time.
hell, the anti tank cannon are called " towed_x " yet you cannot tow them:
without getting side tracked, i would like it, but engineers would kinda overshadowed it while being generally faster depending on your perks on your engineers. making these iterations of riders, pointless.
beside, the original idea of riders were to be used as shock troops. engineers were more of a side thing to place a rally in a fast manner near the flanks.

Honestly, I think it would be cooler if the riders had an option to have a supply truck that could drop supplies (for engineers to refill from) like in Hell Let Loose. Sure, in HLL it’s used to actually build things, but for the sake of Enlisted it could drop, say, a supply drop with ammo, resources, and medkits. I mean, we already have most of the standard cargo vehicles in game, so I think this would be a better option. I do agree that we should get Kubelwagens and Willys Jeeps as well. I know there is a Soviet jeep (and it’s in the game as one of the vehicles that spawn in a map) I just don’t remember what it’s called.
Because SPAA should not take up a tank slot for the team, or would you rather have a Ta-Se sitting around in the back while pershings rain hell on the objective?
