Lower Federov

a lot of pre-war guns were used in the battle of moscow, or at the very least the winter war.
they really did use EVERYTHING they could get their hands on because until later, the USSR wasn’t very industrialized. or not as much as they wanted

if it was in stock and could shoot a bullet, they were using it

So BR 1 should be everything developed until 1942? Then half of the techtree would be BR 1 and every othere BR just 3 or 4 weapons each…

Do we get the Paris gun for germany as BR 1 call in? Or better yet the “Schwere Gustav” as a call in with 7 ton shells? The first was 1918 so basicly BR 0 and the later completed in 1941.

Another element in all this is the inherent loopholes and complications of the BR system. For example the Puma is BR 2, even though it first saw service in 1943, so I have to make my BR 4 in order to make sure I end up in Normandy. Then we have the issue with Volkssturm weapons appearing in Moscow and such

Or how Stalingrad is a mess with Tigers, Panthers, T-34-85

In general I think BR could be a little refined

Is this supposed to be a strawman

No im just making fun of your wierd reasoning for age over power argument.
This isnt that much diffrent to if you just look at the age of a weapon system used. And since I assume you dont care for the power level for the items but only the age it isnt that far fetched.

And putting endgame stuff into places with no counter is “refining” it?
Everyone spamming the obscure 1 off weaponry is so much more immersiv than gear that does not match the timeline?

Most soldiers wouldnt even know that most prototype weapon even exist as they werent commonly issued to everyone so even those that were issued never really had that much of an impact. But here if a gun is added everyone will abuse it as much as possible as quantity does not matter and the only thing stoping you from spamming more of a certain 1 off weapon is the initial siver cost…

There was a piece of what I believe would be natural suggestions I gave however it was drowned out by the argument

Rather the federov moved to tier 4 away from the lower level players in which case making it to where federov and ppd users would have no choice but to fight German players with sufficient gear who have a fighting chance. So basically making Moscow and Stalingrad having separate tier queues for bolt action game play as well as a higher and separate queues for weapons such as the ppd, mg34 and 42’s etc.

You guys might or might not think of it as the best suggestion however I though it would be nice and center grounded. However let me know.

I think the Federov should be moved to Tier 1-2.

confused laughter

It has rifle damage and mp-40 RoF. It’s fine at Tier V.

So the Federov should be lowered and it’s stats should be refined more closely to how it is in real life, instead of this supposed super weapon

Then it would be a reskinned SVT.

I’ve said they could add the Gustloff Mkb42G as Germany’s early automatic rifle

In a way yes because a prototype from the period is more relavent than a WW1 vintage. It’s like it’s better to have some prototype semi auto than the Farquhar, a rare British WW1 semi

There are A LOT of posts here with people who don’t know how guns work…

You realize every single WWII nation with the exception of the United States with the Garand, were using WWI weapons as standard issue? Even then, you realize the reason why the M1903A1 USMC exists?

All weapons should be modeled after their real life stats

Warthunder and this game at least try to have immersive vehicle combat, I don’t see any problem if we extend that to guns

Obviously I know the Kar98k and Mosin 91/30 are developments of their WW1 parent, but no one would ever say a Kar98k is a WW1 gun yes. Imo that’s a deflection from my point

You know what I mean

Even then we are talking about obscure WW1 weapons. At least the SMLE was the backbone of Britain’s North African theater

They could solve so many problems if they just introduced a means of scarcity into this game. I’m partial to either a hard limit per soldier/squad/army or some kind of point system where more powerful weapons cost more to bring.

The great thing about this game is that it is a constant work in process. Nothing is set in stone

I think it would be interesting to test different BR overhauls. Like on the test server. Ok let’s test this build, next build, and so on and so fourth, just to see how things turn out

Br is based on power.

You would have to nerf the shit out of the fedorov to allow it down

To the point it wouldnt be the same gun. Probably cause even more outrage

But at the same time isn’t it better that guns be modeled after their actual real life performance

If we go the extra mile for vehicles, why not guns. We might as well just throw the immersive vehicle gameplay out then

If you did that, stuff like the AVT would break when you used it in full auto.

Jaming would need to come back, stripper clip reloads…etc etc

But then we could play the game of how about vehicles breaking down or needing fuel or King Tigers being only able to take a few steps before dry.

It’s simple, guns should just have their bare minimum real life characteristics, like in this case rof

Like @Conscript_Joe said.

People wanted BR to balance gear power. Thats what they got. Relative Power level trumps all…or at least should when assessed properly

Its why in warthunder german WW 2 vehicles get to fight mostly Korean and vietnam war vehicles.

In warthunder premium and event/battlepass vehicles get to transcend these BRs just a little

If I’m correct this is a Russian based company and they’re not gonna commit sacrilege on a Soviet weapon so stop trying to make lower level suffer with this cancer zombie weapon
