So yes, custom games is the place where all of your different views of HA can be achieved.

Also, moving Italian equipment to it’s own tech tree would hurt that new tree, because most of what the italians have is about on par with what the Japanese do, requiring another country with preferential matchmaking.

Moving all the British/Lend Lease equipment from the US tree to a new UK one would seriously hurt the US in the earlier tiers of the new MM, up to about tier 6. SMLE No 4 mk1 is certainly among the best bolt-actions in the game, and the only rifle the US would be left with that honestly competes is the 1903A1 USMC, the best SMGs currently available to the US are either british or lend-lease, and the best vehicles currently available to the british are US. They’d be hamstringing the US until the later tiers and making the British the faction for allies to play early to midgame.

It is difficult to make a judgement of the proposed Tech Tree, since it is missing a great deal of equipment. Hopefully the spreadsheet will be updated soon to include those, it 's important if we’re to understand how the entirety of progression is to be - and make useful commentary based on it.

With the information currently available, my observations are as follows:

  • it appears that bolt-action rifles are too spread out across the Tiers for their effectiveness relative to those preceding. Please consider reducing the number of Tier 's these appear at to four ( 4 ), instead of the proposed six ( 6 ).

  • in a similar vein, pistols and shotguns are located at too high Tiers for their available capability. Please consider reducing the number of Tier 's these appear at to three ( 3 ), instead of the proposed five ( 5 ).

  • the position of initial engineer squads seems too late for the needed capabilities this soldier class provides. Please consider moving these from the proposed Tier two ( 2 ) position to Tier one ( 1 ), in place of the Medic class.


This player would also find it useful to know the preliminary policy for guidance on future equipment to be foldered( made optionally researchable ) under other equipment and why, and how future equipment is to appear within existing Tier 's and the effects on existing progression/ongoing progression to result.
More important to this player, though, is seeing the currently-available equipment which has not yet appeared on the spreadsheet be added there, so more informed feedback can be made.

What is it someone like you can’t get ur shitty minds around, you do not speak for majority, nor are those who want historical immersion a minority. most people here want history, why the hell would you otherwise come here, it’s the whole concept of the game, a historical FPS based on WW2.

No one is asking for exact historical representation, near impossible and would be very unbalanced with the premise of this game. But we want the game to be reasonably historical that you get the feel.
How hard is it to get into ur thic skull? braindead huh?

while I do think this tech tree is overall positive I think that it could use some improvement,

:diamond_shape_with_a_dot_inside: I think that this tech tree has far too many tiers in the concept at the moment. The infantry equipment (Enlister’s main focus) has very similar capabilities. When it comes down to it a Kar 98K and a MAS 36 don’t really play too differently but are placed four ranks apart in the current layout. tanks and aircraft make balancing the game rather difficult I understand, but there can currently only be one of each type of aircraft and two tanks in a match at a time, so their effect on the battlefield is rather limited therefore I would assert that if you made more tanks and aircraft the same tier the overall effect on the battlefield would be minimal. I would suggest that the game have at max 6 tiers and that there be more equipment per tier.

:diamond_shape_with_a_dot_inside: I understand that the plan for the future right now is to give the Italians and the British their own tech trees down the line. But, for the time being I think it would be better to give their equipment their own research lines in the American and German tech trees instead of mixing all of the equipment together. Like how War Thunder’s British tech tree has a South African research line. This will benefit the player by giving them more of an opportunity to quickly research what they want especially if they want to focus on Italian or British weapons and equipment.

:diamond_shape_with_a_dot_inside: I believe that this current tech tree setup could benefit greatly from “Foldering” by that I mean equipment that’s research is locked behind the research of other equipment but are also optional for progression. for example you could “folder” the Springfield M1903A1 USMC behind the Springfield M1903 because the weapons are very similar and both should not be required for progression.

:diamond_shape_with_a_dot_inside: I also think that the fighter and Attacker lines should be separate instead of one all-encompassing “aircraft” line like we have in the current planned system. This would benefit the player with quicker research of the equipment they choose.

These are the main tweaks I think could really benefit the game the most, there are some other small ones like balance changes but those can always be fixed later implementation.

Yeah motor bikes are fun, but not much reason to use them. If they were really early (which makes sense) they might see some use

So if your intrested of game that is historically accurated in any manner, boy did you do horrible choice.

You can have it. In customs, every each historical representation you want.
With funny hats and donkeys, anime or anything, you name it and its yours.

The whole schtick of this game is that it isn’t JUST PvP it is mixed PvE with the bots. They had a real opportunity here to stand out. Battlefield is a dead franchise now because of how bad BFV and 2042 were. CoD is just warzone with lootboxes and skin packs every year.
The fact that this game feels so full is what make it different from Hell Let Loose or those other historical ones. It was the right balance of guys with real era guns running around, not MP-44 with scopes and suppressors and pink bunny ear camo.
And you also had like 100+ Germans and Americans if you count all the NPCs and players duking it out. It made the maps feel like they were a real engagment, not just 24 or so guys kinda sniping it out or looking for corners to SMG each other and throw knives. IT FEELS HUGE. Now lets not muck that up with every GI having a Johnson rifle and every German having a wonder weapon.
What they need to do is lean into the map design more. If it is Berlin, Germans on Defense, and they get better positions to make up for shitty weapons.
Same with Normandy landings.
They kinda got the feeling right on these when the player count isn’t all 10 stack sweat axis players grinding at 9:00 pm US time.

Hard agree. First thing I did in this game was grind out the US Normandy Garand. Took me 3 or 4 days. My friend had it on the first night with $10 in gold by just unlocking the squad and equiped to a bunch of his squads. Because, well that’s what felt right. Nothing about this new system feels like it will make either side happy.

in my opinion, i think, most wouldn’t trade a slot for them… specially free to play players when they only have 3 inf slots and 1 vehicle slot to play with

as a player i believe that type of vehicles would shine on every map or mode if a dedicated slot was available just for them.

right now, i use them now and then, to drive fast on a flank to make a spawn point… but then i think about paratroopers :confused:
as you stated, if they come low low tier, yeah… they might shine.
not everything has to be good or top tier to deliver fun or a different approach on the battlefield! right? :slight_smile:

I was under the impression they didn’t take a vehicle slot?? or at least weren’t supposed to at Tunisia launch (I vaguely remember it being commented on before they released), granted I haven’t really paid attention to Tunisia in recent months and always been premium so I didn’t notice… I loved zipping around through the tunnels in that thing, running down people in small corridors.

Any way, in my list I put them at Tier 1 along the entry baby panzers. Until they add early Fallschirmjagers there shouldn’t be paratroopers at this tier for some time

Sorry I misread “Slot” as “vehicle slot” my bad…

I figure at tier 1 there is only one or two SMG options and no MGS so should be more appealing.
