most players fly frontal and straight on enemy tanks and infantry although multiple planes of their own got shot down.
Maybe the players should also learn to come from where the opponent usually doesn’t expect it.
But since so many people fail at simple things like “building a RallyPoint” and “marking enemies”, such thought processes overwhelm them.
Yeah that definitely is the play sometimes. Though the moment enemy air is up, angles of approach point go out the window.
And still, it’s too easy from the ground. You can even see the lead indicator through trees! Meaning you have a shot even though you cannot see the target. Definitely busted.
Hey good point. Some players can easily light up flyboys with any automatic gun. The problem is that in reality, it can be hard to tell exactly where that engine is coming from. The lead indicator gives it away, makes it way too easy.
A problem here too is that any maneuvering makes it very hard to get accurate bombs on target. It makes strafing much harder as well but rockets are still doable. Hence why I brought up the problems with Russian air.
But even so, the AA gunner still just has to adjust aim a bit and get lucky once (HE 20mm)
It’s strange, rockets are the only munitions that can pen tanks and also explode like a super HE.
Everything else does either maximum pen or maximum HE, or has a combo but does neither very well. Rockets do both extremely well!
If you have good ears you can hear the direction from the plane, even if the plane is more then 1.500m away. So you don’t need the magic aim circle to locate the position of the plane
Nah. You can also do it with an aircraft.
It’s not necessarily easy but if you know the location, you can surpirse him by coming from a different direction.
Takes more time and might cause you to die as well, but I’ve done it a few times to a player who i felt was (and stats showed) was really quite good at shooting down our planes. Also I’ve died trying a few times too.
Overall I like AA. It feels dangerous. You actually have to evade and potentally fly in non-optimal attack angles if you wanna keep on bombing while there’s an active aa player.
that’s True But also the point…you are completely reliant on knowing the location. As an AA gunner Im not going to reveal that until you are already dead
Well yes but through auditory sense, you really just narrow it down to at best, from the South for example. The eyes are necessary to pinpoint. You can hear something coming from miles away but it may take a bit to get eyes on. Lead indicators take the challenge out of that. It’s always a give me.
That’s fair. But I have had the fortune to make the observation based on other planes these guys have shot down, which is a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
