This is a good strategy. But what if he built both AA guns and relocated to his second? If he’s smart, he will always get the jump on you. And even if you glide down with your engine off, he may get lucky and just spot your lead indicator. Game over.
That’s always a possibility, but tbh I’ve never experienced that degree or dedication to AA that i at least remember.
Mostb of the time it feels like that the capable players find a good location to farm the expected air spawn / rearming point approach and sit there, which makes sense since that’s gonna work 90% of the time.
A much more realistic blocker to air counter is a clever placement where 1 or more sides are actually shielded by buildings or other objects, whether on purpose or not.
Most of the time, countering CAS definitely isn’t the main priority. Quite the opposite, there’s not really a time to even bother to build AA. Especially at higher BRs. You really need to be at objective and deal with the never ending infantry hordes.
They are definitely out there and growing in number. Mostly among PC players though from what I’ve seen.
Plus I think new players are starting to realize how much more xp you will get by downing planes.
So yeah it’s either I can run around and sweat and chase the xp. Or I can sit here and chill and the xp will come to me.
That’s true in general, though I think it depends on side / BR. For instance when i play on BR5 allies, i see axis AA at least semi regularly on some maps (the beach ones in particular, most commonly after axis loses the bunker caps and has to defend more open zones) which makes sense since those maps tend to be quite good for US CAS which in optimal circumstances has a very high damage potential.
Considering they play half of the time against THE plane nation, no wonder.
Exactly. Makes sense. Though I would alter your wording to “THE rocket spam nation”
Okay after playing 9999 hours here’s my totally accurate verdict
there’s 2 possible paths to nerfing AA so it wont make aircraft too overpowered
Path 1: nerfing the damage
Right now the AA kills the aircraft in 2-3 shots, a lot of the time 1 shot is enough, this is laughably innacurate and makes plane denial too easy, just nerfing the damage is a possible nerf
Path 2: reworking AA
Removing lead indicator but leaving high damage would at least require some degree of skill to provide AA cover and would make it way better for planes as they now will feel safer while maneuvering or being simply far from battlefield, instead of being sniped 1.5 km away because of lead indicator
however any nerf should have some concessions to make it more accessible like giving AA gun to non engineering squads with a 1/1 limit or placing some AA guns on the maps free for grabs like in some other games
no,the are balanced, you have skill issue
Hey welcome to the community.
Path 2. I think this would be a good way forward. It would certainly make AA gunning a legitimate skill. Right now it is probably the easiest thing to do in the game.
no shooting gun is the easiest thing in game
its time to stop posting stupid nerf requests.
Lol. Lmao even
Learn to dodge and weave
how tf do you dodge a one shot gigabullet that snaps ur tail at 1.5km with first hit?
Same way you dodge an even bigger shell coming out of the 109 on your tail
at least you can see bf109 before it fires
No, I don’t believe I will. We still have to curb stomp rifle grenades, automatic rifles and make paratroopers attainable through research because as of now they are p2w.
The anti-aircraft guns are fine as they are (should actually be even more dangerous).
The people who demand that the AA should be nerfed should be happy that
- The nations do not all have their AA:
Germany has deployable 20mm quadruple/37mm/88mm in different versions or the vehicles Sd.Kfz 9 with quadruple 20mm/single-barrel 37mm/Sd.Kfz 6 with the same armament/Sd.Kfz. 251/21/Flakpanzer Whirbelwind/Ostwind and Kugelblitz and other AA on 38t or other vehicles.
USA/UK with 40mm Bofors, quadruple cal 50. as a turret or half-track as well as the vehicles M16/Crusader AA mk I and II/AC MK II/T17E2.
USSR 25mm m1940/76mm M1938 and 1931/85mm M1939 as well as ZSU-37 and Gaz with Dshk or vierling maxim MG.
Japan Type4 20mm twin/Type Type 88 75 mm AA gun/Type 96 25 mm AT/AA gun/Type 99 88 mm AA gun/Type 11 75 mm AA gun/Type 14 10 cm AA gun/Type 3 12 cm AA gun/Type 4 75 mm AA gun/Type 5 15 cm AA gun - Most AAs are heavily nerfed against infantry. If you consider that a rifle bullet (7.62 or 7.92) almost always kills infantrymen with one hit and 20mm or even 35mm still need more than one grenade for a direct hit with HE, there is no need to say that the AA needs to be nerfed.
Anti-aircraft gun joke +1
AA is still weak now
Planes have plenty of time and opportunity to react and drop bombs early or evade to a certain extent.
The previous 4-tube AA was the best AA
