Italy as the nation of the axis in Tunisia, the Italian forces were the majority in the entire African campaign in the axis and I think they should be given a little importance in the theater that belongs to them, the africa corps was important but, it would be good if they weren’t the main nation

If it’s early tunisia, sure. Otherwise Afrika Korps.

In fact I would tell you no, the last units to surrender in Tunisia were all Italians, the last ones that fought and died Italians

Just because they were the last ones to die doesnt mean they did the BULK of the fighting or were more famous in the western conscious. Hopefully it’s early tunisia so we can have a more unique take on the campaign than yet ANOTHER germans in the desert thing.

I understand that in our view the Germans were the protagonists, but the percentage in Tunisia was 70% of the Italian army

They chose Italy for balance, the allies would out do Italy in everyway and that would make the game super unbalanced…

I agree, Italy is much more suited for that campaign

Why though???
Having Germany in all 4 campaigns using similar or same weapons and equipment is going to drive me crazy

Nobody is gonna want to play Germany in Tunisia because he will get sick of them

I don’t care whether they are Afrika Korps, Volksturm, SS… they are still copy-paste Germans in yet another campaign

Why tho? If Italy will be there at start, for example until half of campaign, they can hold theyr own pretty well. Germans would just come later in campaign.

With planes it is even easier, as Italians could have MC.202 vs Hurricane or Spit.
They have great weapons, Carcano rifles are really good, Beretta M38 was one of best SMGs in WW2, then you have Breda 30, lot of people hate it in game, i love it, but thats just personal opinion. They can even get better MG with Breda-Safat 7,7mm.
They can easily be at least in first half of campaign without any problems.

Italy being weak is a false myth which appeared after Breda 30 was proven to be bad
Ian from ‘‘forgotten weapons explained it well’’

He talks about it on 24:00 minutes into the video

Italian SMG Berreta m38 was better than the German MP40, Carcano rifles are said to be better than K98, Italy also had other machine guns which were good, Italian planes were great. The only thing Italy lacked at was tank power

So don’t underestimate Italy because they had a lot of small arms which better than German ones

That’s why I don’t want Germany in Tunisia.

Italy should receive more love

And yet the prisoner count was 101k Germans, 89k Italians, and 47k others - so how does that work? Was the Italian army only about 110k men total or something??

Yep, Germany is listed there, soo does that means there will be only Germans when they have been only 1/3 of force there? I dont think soo.

I’m going to make a post that will talk about Italian weapons because I saw a lot of players look down on them

Army Group Afrika had more German troops than Italians - that’s wqhy ther were more German POW’s than Itlaian ones captured.

I can certainly see the possibbility of htere being Italian squads - that’sd fine - but if there are they are going to be part of an “Axis” faction that has a (non-swastika) German flag.

You guys seem to forget that probably 95% or more of the work is done on this campaign.

The choice is already made, and it isn’t going to change now. Of course Operation Compass might be fun… but that’s not even on the horzon!! :sob:

My bad, i thinked about numbers from earlier.

I’m not saying there should be only Italians, i say at least in first half of campaign there should be Italians and that they have more than enough weapons and equipment to give to us. And German flag can be there, but it is still Axis.

By “the first half of the campaign” - you mean the Tunisian Campaign, or are you thinking of North Africa as a whole from 1940???
