Italy should replace Germany in Tunisia + talking about Italian guns and why were they good

This is a side-post to give more information about Italian guns. I will put some stuff from the original post and give more info

Italy being weak is a false myth which appeared after Breda 30 was proven to be bad

He talks about it on 24:00 minutes into the video

Italian SMG Berreta m38 was better than the German MP40, Carcano rifles are said to be better than K98, Italy also had other machine guns which were good, Italian planes were great. The only thing Italy lacked at was tank power

So don’t underestimate Italy because they had a lot of small arms which better than German ones

That’s why I don’t want Germany in Tunisia.

Italy should receive more love

The reason why I’m mentioning these guns is because most people tend to think less of Italian weapons which is false

Berretta M38 is one of THE BEST submachine guns of ww2. It’s much better than the MP40 and maybe even better than the PPSh-41

Please add Italy as the main nation for Tunisia!!!

I’ve always liked Italy, even though they got a bad wrap, they had some cool stuff/units.

However love the afrika core too, I’m sorta hoping we will get divisions from both

Actually, Italians fought very good, most of their generals and higher ranking officers were bad which is irelevant for tactical combat.

Mixed German and Italians is a way to go for me. Not in one squad ofc…

I don’t have a problem with Italian weapons but i have a concern about their tanks especially fighting those Matilda and Crusaders would be hectic for Tank vs Tank duel but I think adding a german Tank crew would be sufficient

Crusaders are not a problem for M14/41, and Matilda can be destroyed by Semovente 75/18. Italians dont really have a problem with enemy tanks. First tank crew can be easily Italian and second German.

Italy should definitely be the main nation in Tunisia… I´m already tired of having to fight/grind germany 3x (4x with Tunisia and 5x (goddamit) with possibility of future Stalingrad)

If there will be Stalingrad in future, i will not play it, as it will not be something new. It will be just Berlin with Moscow weapons.

Way more interested in stuff that doesn’t get covered as much. Italy in Tunisia way up there

Really hoping for operation husky. Never gets any coverage cos of embarrassment. Only game I remember that covered it was a bf 1942 expansion and damn it was cool.

Well. It depends much on the time period there.

BF 1942 “Road to Rome” and PS2 version on CoD 2 “Big Red One” had Sicily too, like 3 missions, 2 vs Italians, one on Gela beach and one in some town i dont remember, and 3rd mission vs Germans in Messina. Sadly Italians are not covered in lot of games.
Tbh, Italy military is something i really like in WW2, if they had better officers it could have looked a lot different, but sadly officers were assigned to units because of politics instead of being good. But there were some exceptions, like 185th Airborne Division or 132nd Armored Division, well all of Motorised and Cavalry units were good.

Only tanks and planes would be better versions, infantry weapons would be almost same, with some new additions like PPSh, another than that, it would be stuff we already seen.

I would like to see it like this focus on italy, First part italy only. Planes like ba 65 c202 cb tanks m13/14 and m16celere :stuck_out_tongue: and for the second part mix with germany tanks attacker ect.

There were some epic Italian units, navari ring a bell? And they did that in the shittiest r35 tanks. Probably just as well Italian forces were misused. Could of caused alot of trouble.

I have a soft spot for Italian WW2 history. Interests me.

Yeah, me too.

Ba-65 were already out of service by that day, if there should be Italian CAS, that would be SM.79 or Stukas. M16 Sahariano was only a prototype and never served in Armed forces.

Well. In Stalingrad the Germans did participate on their own but with the help of Romania, Hungary and Italy too. Also the Land-Lease Act allows the usage of British and American guns for the Red Army.

Only Romanians and Croatians fought in city, and that was in very end when they were surrounded. If there would be minor Axis, that would be Fall Blau, and that is not a Stalingrad.

Only weapon they used were Thompsons, and they didn’t really liked it. There could be tanks like M3 Stuart and M3 Lee, but those were fighting on Don front, not in city.

well, yes, but actually no.

i’m cool with having italian divisions as half of them were italians, but i would not be " accurate " to replace germany,

for no reason at all.

i would like to see you having good time destroying churchills with m15/40s, M15/42s and/or merely an armored car with a 37mm on top.

so, no. that’s out of question.

not to mention, we barely have enough weapons to make a campaign out of it.

M15/42 were never in Africa and it has 47mm.
Semovente 75/18 can kill Churchill with its HEAT shells.
Churchills there were in few numbers and were worst version, if it will be in Tunisia, it will be infantry food imo.

But to the point, i want Italians there, but as i already said in multiple threads, i want them in first half or at least half of campaing to be Italians, but there has to be Germans as CAS is Italy weak side.
Weapons are not a problem and most of them is better than British in reality. Early tanks can be Italians as well, as first British tanks will be Stuarts or Crusaders and those are easy food for Italian tanks and SPG. Later in campign there will be stronger tanks for Allies, but for Axis too.
