Here are the reasons why halftrack are usefull and not pointless like you believe ( if implemented correctly )

because more people might stop building stuff.

when only one has to actually drive to the point or near, and guard it.

it’s not that hard to get it.

well, if you don’t place it very well, yes. you have to guard it.

although, you can just leave it a few blocks behind or even behind houses where your opponent might not look or can’t reach. and therefore having a fowards outpost.

if you need, you have ammo/medkits or whatever.

well, halftruck it’s just the end tier of the riders. ( they still have trucks and cars that can be used if people do not like halftrucks )

but if you remember, devs did made a poll ( the only one that ever happened ) about riders if they should had limits.

so it means they can create limits for

I’d rather have an ammo box on point and additional friendly squad to cap it than an ammo APC 20m from the point with a friendly squad guarding it.

I need them in combat, not 20m away from it. I may as well die and respawn with a fresh squad on some rally 20m away.

and i rather have an halftruck that can refill my whole team without struggling to see where the box is, or finish the whole supply just because someone used an heavy weapon and finished all ammonutins of that said box. oh yeah, also be able to move it if needed :woman_shrugging:

I have never run out of ammo in ammo box so I don’t see this issue. Also I can just build two ammo boxes.

Then you support yourself, not the team mates who fight to get to the point.

To me it looks like you want APCs so you can customise them.

They would be cool to be introduced in a Kursk battle campaign, with those boundless steppes they would be a lot useful to help infantry keep up with tanks

bikes were ok ingame cause they didnt break the balance. it was way to get faster from point A to point B and you were exposed while doing that. and half tracks range from more or less trucks to almost light tanks. small gun fire cant kill lots of half tracks or personnel in it.

but even if we accept that it is on separate spot, you still didnt fix the problem of shitty maps and inability to actually use them on 80-90% of the maps. they will either be exposed, or so far away from combat that they are useless.

I do run out of ammo. But I run out of ammo on a soldier, not in the ammo box.
And people complain about runing out of ammo on a soldier, no in the ammo box.

In my book you support only those who are on the 2nd line of fight instead of supporting the 1st line, which need support the most.

saves you the problem of having to build ammos when you can just grab them on the truck halftruck whatever. way faster and efficent.

not really. by the time someone is refilling ,someone else technically will replace him, and the first guy can enforce the objective back again.

to make squads last a bit longer.

And why wouldn’t I just spawn a new squad? I remind you that the game increases your XP gain if you die. There is no encouragement to stay alive.

whether that’s true, i need to progress with the squad that i use. i don’t really need to cycle through squads ( which it’s efficent ) but people are, can and should be able to play like the heck they want in a sandbox game :upside_down_face:

To me it soulds like “it will be an ammo box but worse so it’s usefull”.
