After the Panzerschreck it is now apparent that Japan will receive German content. It is technically historically accurate in that Germany did send Japan some aid and technology. Sure this use may be fantastical but its technically HA as far as this game’s HA standards go. I can accept it.
So what other European Axis/ foreign content can be given to Japan in the Research Tree, events, and Premium content. Weapons, vehicles, planes, etc
It can’t be “Hey lets just give Japan a Maus!”. There must be at least a shred of historical evidence and precedent. Germany did send some technology to Japan as they were nominal allies. Some reached Japan others didn’t. Japan also purchased some foreign equipment.
Note that I am not talking about captured content. That is its own separate and controversial debate. This is about foreign equipment sent to or purchased by Japan
These are all of the plausible European Axis/ foreign content that I am aware of that could be given to Japan:

Panther (don’t know which model)
Panzer 3 J
Panzer 3 N
Panzerfaust (don’t know which model)
MP 40
Stg (I don’t know if this is the ubiquitous Stg 44 or its earlier models Mkb or MP 43)

From what I’ve read over the years, the Japanese captured quite a lot of US and British weaponry and vehicles. Much of it used in the Burma and Asian campaigns. I don’t know how most of it could fit within the current TT scope though.
I am on the fence on captured content. On one hand yes everyone captured everything they could get their hands on. But on the other it kind of tarnishes the integrity of a faction’s arsenal. What give America Stgs and King Tigers and give Germany Garands and Pershings. Plus there’s the slippery slope of let’s just give this faction X or Y even if there’s not even a historical precedent, lets give Germany a Pershing!
Which is why I think for now capture content should be heavily regulated. For example, no giving America a Stg, yes giving Germany a T34 with P3 cupola because it was at least modified to be unique.
Historically, this happened quite a lot. It’s well documented that the Nazis (and the Americans) “rebadged” captured equipment to fool the enemy in some operations. The Japanese were less covert, they just used what they stole with very little “rebadging”.
I completely agree, though some captured US/British equipment could work for the Japanese faction, considering they currently suffer from the lack of a fleshed-out TT.
Also Japan bought MAB 38/43 (With 20 round mags , giving them 40 round mag wouldn’t bother me) and these MABs reached Japan (There are bunch of semi-autos that Japan bought , famously Pedersen rifle for testing before the Chinese war and SVTs, were also gifted to Japanese embassy in germany)
Not much can be done there though I can see one specific thing get added to Japanese TT, and that being modified M1 carbine (Captured by Japanese , shortened and made to fire in full auto) , could fill the AR role

It’s already in the game and fully working as you can check yourself in editor. It has a green camo. It will be probably a TT vehicle as it doesn’t seem to have any decorations added. If it’s a premium then it will be most laziest premium they could add as it would take them 5sec to make, just paint it green lol.
Captured guns should be added only in limited quantities either as event weapon or squad/premium/bp weapon. While vehicles only when it was modified or TT warrants new addition to fill the empty gap at certain BRs like Tiger for Japan.
We already have that one with the old Premium Panzer III N, the E2/U7 that was turned from premium to TT in Stalingrad and never forget the P-51 and the BF109 G6 in Normandy that were the same as the level variants.
It was supposed to come out in March but no change ever since. I guess they didn’t want to have lazy event on pacific maps and maybe decided to postpone it when they will have Khalkhin Gol or Manchuria real maps.
