In that case, we can abolish concept of faction specific TTs. Because the Western Allies had more KVs and T-34s than the Japanese had German vehicles.
Completely ruining integrity and uniqueness of every faction => there’s no point in having factions in the first place.
We can go full Battlefield.
More like twisting historical facts to justify copy paste in TTs.
Literally historical fact is that Japanese physically had not a single Tiger.
Giving them pather is even bigger nonsense. And it doesn’t have anything in common with real history. It is just pure BS.
We already have Japan with a bloody Tiger tank. PLEASE can we not ruin this game anymore?
Indeed instead of giving Japan copy paste German or USA/UK tech.
Why dont we give them Dutch tech which so far we havent got in game?
The Japanese captured various weapons from the Dutch East Indies and I know some of the Dutch rifles for instance were given to pro-Japanese locals in Asia and the Pacific.
I would also support the previous suggestions of adding more Swiss tech to Japan. Switzerland was neutral and some Swiss tech was bought by Japan. (as we see in the current TT)
Like the Netherlands, Swiss tech isnt in game anywhere else and it would be good to have legitimate neutral countries weapons that were purchased, rather than more fairytale prototypes that exist only as a single drawing on a serviette.
There was a fear that they were going to start giving Japan German tech for a long time until the pin finally dropped with the Panzerschreck.
I didn’t like it at first. If it was up to me I’d change it, but through my justifications I can tolerate it. A little bit of a bizzaro Axis lend lease, Axis Aid
At best I would’ve had both Soviet lend lease and Japan “lend lease” one-off event rewards. But with the Soviets they’ve already given them some LL in RT and too with Japan. I’d say for them to remove and reimplement this content but that’s another battle
I agree its a little off putting but I can accept it. But for what this game is I enjoy it so much more than Battlefield. They could give Japan a Tiger and Panther right now and I’d still like this game.
Yes this game is not 200% HA but I have my rules. For example, I don’t mind prototypes or experiments. My loadouts are chronologically correct for the given map. I can be BR 4 in 1942 Stalingrad and the Germans have King Tigers, all I care is that my personal loadout makes sense for 1942.
All of this hinges on the fact that Japan did buy or was sent (or attempted to receive) this content. Like I said yes it is fantastical but I can accept it. At least there was an attempt
Only if said specific item was at least purchased.
I can tolerate the Japanese Tiger because they did buy one, but we shouldn’t be giving Japan every single German vehicle. There should be a shred of evidence
I assure I still want more Japanese content…and in this case this Axis Aid as well.
I’m not really pushing for anything. I’m simply going from, though not endorsing, historical accuracy, which I know, is a very contentious opinion here in these forums.
The Japanese TT is seriously lacking, that much is very true.
I don’t mind “copy paste” stuff as event, BP or premium.
But I really hate when I see copy paste in TTs.
Doesn’t really justifies copy paste in TTs.
I would rather have unique content like KE7 that Japanese most likely never used. Rather than TT copy paste that’s justified with historical purchase of the vehicle. Even though the vehicle never arrived to Japan.
It shouldn’t be used for balance (=copy paste being meta).
For example issue with AT launchers could have been solved much more immersion friendly.
All they needed to do was to buff penetration values of one of BR2 Japanese launchers (as there was any need for 2 BR2 launchers) and put it no higher BR.
How many people even does know what are they real historical penetration values without goggle?
Not many.
How do I know?
Because penetration values for Bazookas were incorrect for at least 2 years. And how many people cared?
Nah.
Devs just came up with this nonsensical copy paste. And now Japanese high BR meta AT launcher has nothing to do with Asia setting/theater whatsoever
I havent seen any reason to believe they cancelled it, but you know things rn are bad at Darkflow due to all of the community managers quitting. There’s probably a lot of turmoil we don’t know about
to be honest, japan as a nation just has a lot less options available than say, germany or the united states, who both had several allies during the war
