I love this game and I love the new progression! However, I think this needs to be said: Keep historical accuracy. I know that the player base isn’t large enough to do this extremely effectively, but please at least try to have the matchmaker pair historically accurate weapons with the maps. I don’t want to see 76 Shermans in the pacific or King Tigers in Stalingrad. Even if there are measures in place to keep the vehicles and weapons balanced (what you announced in the DevBlog), it doesn’t feel right to have King Tigers in Stalingrad. Please, if by some miracle you see this, make the matchmaker try to keep the IS-2s in Berlin and the 76 Shermans in Normandy. (same for other tanks/weapons as well, keep them in their respective maps)
I promise, if you make these changes, the player base will thank you.
If this was said in the DevBlog then please feel free to correct me.
I’m sure they will update and continue to work on this new system over time. As with most things we’ll just have to brave the initial impact and see where it goes from there
I understand everyone’s concern but let’s remember this game is still being worked on
Regardless I wouldn’t mind if one day we get the Chi Ri, and instead the US Pacific would have the M26 Patton since they were sent to Okinawa but arrived right after the battle finished
I am so upset that they’re reducing historical accuracy! cries on my Fedorov squad in Moscow cries on my carbine with grenade launcher squad in Normandy cries on my white phosphorous-spamming japanese squad
Honestly if Germans want to run tigers in Moscow and soviets counter with IS, that’s fair game. If we want historical accuracy, make Fedorov gold order. Make MKb and StG gold order. Make it so that in early war, it’s hard to have a squad that is not mostly bolt actions, and in late war, you can have many PPSh and MP-40, but assault rifles are for gold orders.
As far as I’m concerned, historical accuracy has long been out the window, so regardless, I welcome the new change to at least make the grind less annoying
I think a great thing about the change is now we may be able to use content that does belong in certain “campaigns” but weren’t added both for “balance” or devs not wanting to include them. For example the King Tiger first saw combat at Normandy or things that probably would/could be at certain battles like Pumas in Berlin
Yes yes I know things will get a little hectic but at the same time this game is a truly great sandbox and I think this new system is a step in the right direction
well, currently, custom matches does not allow historical battles due to players profile not showing up for players.
but you are right.
eventually, historical accuracy can be done in custom matches.
maybe … in a year or two.
which for op, as long i agree and share the same sentiment, enlisted… wasn’t and never really have been historical accurate in the slightest. ( perhaps in the alpha. but… not even there considering the BA-11 and pz III B )
As far as i understand, this situation will be possible only if there are too few people on a certain tier of equipment and the matchmaker can’t make a historically correct fight.
In other words, a soviet player with a late-war weapon and with late-war tanks is MUCH more likely come to Berlin maps than to Moscow or Stalingrad ones.
its a price to pay so we can have more better system overall , besides custom battles will allow us to have more historical battles
for me this update will be great and its not always only about historical accuracy , this update must happen , all of a sudden i wont be forced to use meta weapons that much and game finds me a bunch of other enemy enthusiasts who like to play bolt action and all other early stuff as well so i can enjoy all those weapons i grinded for and put them to storage in favor to more powerful guns
