This is already looking like a horrible alternative in terms of price to pay. What of all the premium vehicle owners? Are they now expected with their Moscow and Stalingrad premiums to face opponents with Berlin vehicles and premiums? This battle rating system is going to allow people who only have panzer 2s face up against t-34-85s, people with t-28s face up against tiger IIs, and vice versa. There is literally no reason but to conform to the Berlin meta with combining campaigns. By combining all the campaigns, you now just have one single campaign with the very worse parts of Enlisted mashed together.

I don’t think that panzer 2s and t-34-85s will have anywhere near the same rating. You are probably still going to be seeing panzer 2s vs t-60s. The starting equipment of berlin allies is going to be a high BR than that of axis moscow. So noobs are probably going to start with moscow equipment and work up to berlin equipment
it will be job of rating based matchmaking to minimize the chance of stomps like IS-2 vs pz2
My friend, you don’t seem to understand what is possible with battle ratings. You are definitely going to see players with premiums or so happen to have one high battle rating item, be spawning in panzer 2s against is-2s.
I’ve heard mixed information about that. Vault (you may know who I’m talking about) says that’s not happening, which is my concern.
I feel like custom battles are going to be insufficient in historical accuracy. If they do get some love then that would be amazing but I don’t think it’s a priority

They said in the devblog there are options for historical accuracy through the custom games. In addition, they mentioned in the comments if you take squads that are historically accurate, it will try to put you with others with similar squads to that historical accuracy.
Most people playing this game do that because they want to get away from games like Battlefield V and CoD Vanguard. Expect half the playerbase or even more to leave when this joke of an update drops.

It wouldn’t be that hard, I think to implement a way around this by adding extra slots/loadouts that only work on certain maps. F2P would also be incentivized then to use certain weapons that aren’t top tier all the time, so they might get extra choice in earlier campaigns
I read the part about custom games, but I’m worried that there won’t really be any way to enforce that if factions are by nation and not by campaigns.
Currently, if I want an Axis vs Allies early war campaign, I can just set the maps to Moscow. Simple. No KT, no IS-2s, no StGs, etc.
If custom matches are now going to be done by nation, what is stopping someone from joining with (current) Berlin gear on Moscow maps? Nothing that I’m aware of.
So either Custom Matches need to get more options for customized gear and whatnot, or there probably won’t be actual historical battles.
If the new matchmaker tries to keep early war gear to early war maps and late war gear to late war maps then this won’t be an issue, and this is what I’m hoping for.

I believe the idea is that if you go into Moscow with Berlin gear, you will be prioritized to match with those who are also going into Moscow with Berlin gear.
Of course, if there’s only 6 people queuing on Moscow in total, then maybe this will be inevitable.
I get that history nuts want the game to be historically accurate, but it honestly is not viable in the long run.
Imo, they should focus on fun and game balance over historical accuracy.
If you want historical accuracy, games like Hell Let Loose would be great.
Enlisted is more of an arcade shooter with AI squads set in WW2.
I think the changes overall are great for the game
It isn’t so drastic that they are letting every faction on any map fighting any faction.
All it is is you can use your faction’s equipment on any map that your faction of choice can play on.

Less variety.
If I unlock something, vehicle or a weapon, I should be able to play that on any map I want (as long as that faction is on that map)
You can play panther on like 10 other maps. More to come.
So unless you specifically want to play panther on moscow, it doesn’t matter.
I should be able to play it on them all
