Changes suggested after testing the update

Oh no, you are wrong. After the merger, your soldiers don’t need to upgrade their stars, but they need to spend silver coins to choose their skills, which is equivalent to canceling the welfare that you can directly get 4-star soldiers in Stalingrad. This is very cunning and even difficult to find.

Ah, I get you now. I have to agree, they should have known in the original announcement that keeping that feature wasn’t really going to work and just said so up front.

That’s a good point too. I’ll guess we’ll have to see how it all plays out. If this starts to become a pattern of behavior and we see more failed monetization attempts like Stalingrad, things aren’t going to go very good.

Tanks to “only two squads of the same specialization”,I think many people will commit suicide after calling a round of shelling or commit suicide attacks by plane in the future.Forcing players to use things they don’t like will only make things worse. And I will choose a combination of snipers, mortars and signalmen.I’m not allowed to use the same squads on the front line,It’s like having a spoonful of salt in two sweets, which is very unpleasant. So I’d rather stay in the gray area all the time.Anyway, I’m just “providing fire support”, so no one will blame me.

Big deal.

Doesn’t stop anyone from using:

  • 2 assaulters squads & 1 gunner squad, or
  • 2 assaulters squads & 1 flammer, or
  • assaulters & 9 fg42II men, etc.

It really doesn’t do much.

In a sense, nothing much differs. I’m one of those big bad premium whales, and yet I never ever once used 3 of the same squad type in my lineup. Not once. Because it’s unnecessary, and makes me less versatile.

Truth is I don’t care at all either way. Ppl seem to be upset over very few, this time. I don’t mind if they aren’t proficient in anything else than assaulters, nor do I care with the new limit devs proposed.

I just don’t. Cause it changes nothing. It doesn’t nerf players efficiency as there’s other types just as good, but it doesn’t solve spam either.

I’m just happy about the economy fix and the new sorting option, which are nice.

I think these are good changes!

There may be better ways to control squad cycling but this is fine. Better than nothing.

Engineers should all be the same so I like that change too.

They think that’s messed? How stupid.
Test server didn’t have BR.
High tier fight isn’t meant to chillfill.
They see this as messed up and completely blind to keep paratrooper as premium and event exclusive so new players can’t get them unless they open their wallet.

It’s just that assaulters is most suitable for attacking. In a game where most of the players are AI soldiers, snipers are not so easy to be found as long as they don’t kill the players first. Mortars only need to blow at the mark, and communication soldiers just need to wait. There is no one who can only use assaulters.Restriction is more like forcing you to use squads that are not suitable for doing something when you want to do it.This makes me sick, so I will focus on long-range shooting in the future, at least the change of battlefield situation will hardly affect snipers, mortars and communication soldiers.

Yeah, the squad limits aren’t really as useful if it doesn’t apply to premiums.

Then why even the change to begin with if the result is worse? Can you tell meta player stop being meta player? You cant, can you tell the F2P players stop using the same squad cuz versatility is never available for them with the ammount of F2P slot they have and of course 1 vehicle, if every class is viable anytime in this game don’t you think that encourage them use more of them? You know why people use assault squad to begin with? Why 9 man squad with all automatics and BR? Why so little to none use Medic, Rider, Radioman, AT, mortarman and maybe sniper? You know the answer, and then why games like BF, Battlebit, HLL, Post Scriptum, Arma, Insurgency… hell even a dead Game like H&G got the role right, because they actually put limits, restrictions, pros and cons and encouragement using them even though they still have flaws, sure meta still exist, and I don’t think they are that relevant in those games

the engineer change bothers me not going to lie i would like re-compensation for these Stalingrad engineers as now i dont need them over my other campaign engineers after the merge. i really dont think the balance is that game breaking, i argue my normandy engineers with fg 42 are better
as for the limit to 2 squads please do not limit fighter planes specifically, allies cas is spammed out so much and so annoying getting hvared all the time i would like a line up of 3 109s to counter it in case.

the ability to find and filter soliders is awesome, please can you do the same for weapons? i had to put in a support ticket to locate my moscow mkb 42s. and i always lose my battle pass weapons and forget what random squad they are in.

At first glance, yes.

After taking in a lot of experience, not really.

I’ve learnt to use any class to reach my goals. To do so, I simply change my approach. Assaulter is the easy, brain off class. All you have to do is… charge in a straight line. Then you have the shunned riflemen…who can equip long range bolties, medium long range semis, and sf rifles, later on. They can do anything, you just need to flank a bit more with them.
Then the flamers. You just need to advance cautiously while keeping cover as to not attract attention, then when in range… burn! Then you have the bomber squad, which can have many different specialists with him. True commando squad. Then, the snipers! To play them well, find a spot overlooking the cap zone, and clean everyone from it OR change them into DMR with scoped semis or assault rifles! Then the chad engineers, that can do all what riflemen can do PLUS building stuff.

Now knowing this, you’re telling me you absolutely NEED 3 identical grunt squads? Like, really?

We used to say Improvise. Adapt. Overcome. As a meme, but I realize now, that MANY ppl here should take it seriously.

Anyway. Like I’ve said, I don’t care whether this restriction is kept, or reverted. It won’t change anything. The most it would do is help players learn to use other classes better…

If we’re losing the ability to run mkbs with the Stalingrad engineers we need some sort of compensation for the orders we spent as well as the squads as a whole seeing that some were locked behind a paywall

You can choose to use different teams to solve different problems, but I choose to use the same team to solve all problems, even if it is not the optimal solution. My assaulters brought smoke bombs, anti-tank mines, anti-tank fighters and engineers, and even brought a communication soldier for the third assaulters squads. It enabled me to cope with all situations, which was very simple. There is no denying that some restrictions are causing me trouble and I have to take the flamers squads or something else. This may be nothing to you, but I just hope that I have neat and uniform weapons and equipment. Disrupting my lineup will only make me upset. For example, the structure of soldiers’ roulette wheel is different, which is really terrible.

Based on the original post of this thread, you can get rid of them post-merge for so much silver you’re really not damaged.

Could regular squads be separated from the premium squads. 6-6 / 10 -10 ratio? I feel as though I wont be able to use half of the squads I purchased. I am able to use most of them in the current set up but I am doubtful itll be this way come merge. Unless the br system fixes this issue.

Also it would be cool if the br system shows what maps youll likely play with your current set up. That is if br system will play a factor in that.
Thankyou

If it were up to me,

Then we would only have the right to use ONE of each type of squad in lineups. I suggested something along those lines, albeit less drastic, 2 years ago as an effort to limit brainless assaulter spam, which ruined Moscow game play (making it as bland as every other campaign)

Devs are generous enough to allow 2.

So like I said, don’t care. I do not have sympathy for 3X assault squads spammers either…

Devs will decide if they keep this change, or revert it. We will see.

As you wish, I will be a camper in the gray area.Because it seems to me that there is no difference between snipers, mortars and anti-tank guns. This is the so-called “encouraged diversity”.I absolutely can’t stand the fact that there are two guys carrying heavy fuel tanks in my squads fighting in the front line.If someone thinks that trying their best to attack all the time is destroying the game,Then I will give up the charge and concentrate on “providing fire support”,And I won’t sympathize with the guy killed by the campers then.

Hello,
I absolutely love the changes made to the cost of purchasing, and selling with silver! Thanks for implementing the feedback given by the community on this topic.

I complexly understand the reasoning behind this, the ability to bring a significant amount of the same squad time into the game could be game breaking; however this will ultimately limit player expression. Exempting premium squads from this, while understandable, is still contradicting the idea of equality or fairness of the new system. (Maybe increase your BR tier if you bring in more than 2 of one type of squad?)

This is well… Unfortunate, for the individuals who had paid for this pass expecting extra value because of this. I think a good point is how the new system is meant to prevent experienced players from seal clubbing new players; in which case an alternative route is to let Stalingrad engineers keep the ability to wield these weapons, but place the squad at the maximum tier, this way new players should not match up against them. Otherwise some alternative form of compensation would be nice considering the investment made, despite the addental fact the premium squad engineers get to keep their own automatic/machine guns…

As a side point could we get a post clarifying the intent (like the Stalingrad +3 post) of how specifically our squad slots from the Stalingrad pass will be “moved”. By that I mean in the test server all the squad slots were reset, and the gold was refunded to our balance. A post clarifying if we are receiving the (490 + 990 + 1490) gold x 2 (so 5940 gold total) would be great; as well after you take the Stalingrad engineers feedback in consideration.

Great changes so far, I hope to see another test in the future with the new feedback taken into account!
-Cheers

You can get a ridiculous amount of silver with spare MKBs and engineers with the new currency changes.

If the problem is spamming flamers only limit flamers. I see no problem with people spamming assaulters, lmg squads, snipers, AT, engineers, or even tanks and planes. And it should totally count towards premium as well. Buying your way around it shouldn’t be a thing. when it comes to the Stalingrad engineers being op, if they’re going to nerf them, also start nerfing some of these premium squads like the as44 and stg45 squads, premium paras as well as the high caliber lmg squads, but that wont happen because they’re premium. Part of the reason me and most people i know got full access was the quick grind, and having full engineer squads with mkbs seemed pretty cool. To back track and remove a feature many paid for is kind of scummy, especially seeing that they are still selling many op squads as premium. Everything in that camp should be treated like premium especially if it was locked behind the paywall.
