I think the Fw 190 A-8 is no good balance with the P-47. The P-47 can carry 10 HVAR rockets ( which have more explosive than M8 rockets ) and a 500 lb bomb ( 230 kg-ish ). While the Fw 190 A-8 only has 2 rockets ( which have more explosives than the HVAR rockets ), but it ain’t enough. Sure the Fw 190 A-8 can dogfight but there are way more tanks in the ground than planes in the air, the P-47 can get way way more points than the Fw 190 A-8 since it can kill so much infantry and tanks with its rockets and bomb. The Fw 190 A-8 can only fire the rockets once while the P-47 can fire it’s rockets 5 times with a bomb. So I looked into war thunder and I see that the plane after the Fw 190 A-8 is the Fw 190 F-8 and this plane seems to have the payload that can balance with the P-47, here.
And this is the setup
I think the Fw 190 F-8 can balance the P-47, we just gotta choose the correct payload. Do you guys agree? if you do, what is the payload here that can balance the P-47, if it’s kinda hard, we can also mess around with the P-47 payload too, here:

Suggested even before A8 and P47 appeared, but devs opted for A8.

There does not need to be balance between the 2 planes. Fw is a fighter and p47 is a attacker. Different roles
German CAS is more than enough and does need more aditions.
The German counterpart for the P47 is the BF110.
While the counterpart for A20 is the JU88.

Not entirely true as Ju87 and Bf110 at that time were obsolete and Schlachtgeschwader started converting to FW190 developed for these tasks. That is why Germans made FW190 F and G versions.
Even having A8 and F8 in game would be better than any German twin engine in Normandy 44 as these would be swept out of the sky months ago.

I dont care about any of that tbh.
In game, fw is designated as a fighter.
In game p47 is designated as a attacker.
So if you want to buff the fw that would mean it would need to have the attacker designation first.
Completely agree with OP. The 190 is basically useless against ground targets at the moment. It’s pretty decent vs other aircraft, even though the BF109 is faster. They need to give it a 250-500-1000 kg bomb plus the 2x rockets or maybe 4x rockets, to be on par with the P47. They nerfed German air pretty seriously, and at this point there really isn’t much incentive to fly planes for Axis. Plus the 190’s gun gets bugged where it shoots out all it’s ammo, exposing your position to enemy aircraft and leaving you helpless. They had time to nerf the 109’s 250kg bomb to 4x50kg bombs, but they don’t have time to fix the 190? Seriously devs, give Axis some ground striking capabilities already. Jeez.
German air is by a long shot the best faction in Normandy air.

P47 is totally OP compared to FW190 A8 in it’s state, German CAS needs to be buffed.
Germany indeed has better CAS but they pay for it in one way or other.
Example: JU-188 has the biggest/highest payload in the game with 1500kg of bombs what is the price for it tho? No frontal guns at all.
No, Germany already got the best CAS plane in the game there’s no need to buff any CAS plane just nerf the other/counterpart.
This isn’t a airplane based game and bombing more and more ground forces at unrealistic amount shouldn’t be the main focus…
Does not matter if you have frontal guns or not. You can not outturn a fighter so you die the same. Which the FW does really well btw. It is a good fighter next to the German CAS. Current state FW makes the CAS for Germany stronger because you can more easely protect it. Putting bombs/rockets on the FW would make it a lot slower and make the fighter role a lot weaker.
P-47 doesn’t need a nerf
