I´m not saying that I do not agree with you on that front because I feel like a lot of young people are getting some of their history lessons ALSO (not only) from games…
But those are business, and business never had the intention of being accurate. Also, laws are often forgiving to soviets which allows developers to include most of their basic symbols.
As I said before, simple removal of most visible censored symbols (complete removal of those assets, not uncensoring them) would be best way to go if Darkflow do not want to go in direction of accuracy.

My opinion is very categorical on this point. If we ban Nazi symbolism in computer games, war and any other subject, we must prohibit the use in the games of both the symbols of the Soviet regime and, in general, the symbols of any totalitarian regime. For example where I live, Soviet symbols are forbidden (hammer and sickle, etc.)
In general, I think all of this must be allowed, because the computer game is an alternative reality with absolutely nothing to do with real events, politics, and ideology. A computer game could even be treated as a creative work. Just like films in which this symbolism is allowed and used.

Enlisted even had historical German flags in their last year’s Berlin trailer.

Game was censored by same ugly crosses even back then, at least new trailer is not giving players fake ideas.

not true, there are games like cod ww2 that was gonna offer the option. but was denied in china, japan, russia, germany, neatherlands, france and few others.
imo its the same crybabies every year when a ww2 game comes out. its always the same responses and arguments. me personally i dont give a damn. it adds nothing to game play. if youre busy looking at flags and this and that. instead of playing then go build your game and just sit there and do nothing. there are bigger issues with game balance and bugs to worry about. tired of these fat kids and grown ass adults crying about stupid shit in video games. they are video games. want real life and immersion. go serve your country. stop being cancer.

While I agree it is not a big deal and there are more important topics to spend time and energy on (like plane, mortar and arty spam). “They are video games” is an empty argument that helps nobody and only shows you have no stronger points. I could just as easily say to your “bigger issues” of “game balance and bugs” that its just a game and if you want balance and no bugs, go play chess.
Unrelated, love all the Wehraboos who demand Nazi iconography be in game for the sake of historical accuracy but also demand Communist symbols should be removed too. Shows that their interest is in something besides historical accuracy
Nobody in this thread is asking for communist symbols to be removed nor is anyone in any thread I’ve seen.
Both Soviet and Nazi icons should be in the game given that they’re suppose to be representing those forces.

If these people cared about historical accuracy, they wouldn’t make these “what about” arguments towards soviet icons. If you are saying “Funny how Nazis are censored, but Communists aren’t”, you are asking the devs to make it even and censor Communist icons too. These people don’t care about history, they care about Nazis, they’re Wehraboos.
One of then even said “so censor on both sides? comeon”
What am I supposed to interpret that is but a call to make it even and add more censorship.
