It’s a tad immersion breaking seeing the Balkenkreuz on the banners around Berlin.
Same goes for the censored names and emblems of the SS divisions.

it cannot be done.
the censorship has been made, in order to let those countries that has laws against national socialistic signs and swastikas in videogames allowing them to play this game.
so, mainly for marketing reasons.
adding the “option” would involve part of the game including those said unwanted signs. and therefore not allowing the game to be played and not gain anything from those said countries.

As much as I would like to not have to have hardest cringes of my life every time I see streets of Berlin, I don´t think it can be done.
Instead, I would rather suggest option to turn off flags entirely, as those flags being literally everywhere feels incredibly stupid and looks incredibly dumb.

Even from immersion standpoint, it feels really disturbing. Still, this game will also attract people who care at least a bit about history, and such option would be exactly for those. It is very minor convenience adjustment that will just disable ONE asset. How long would that take to develop in order to please these crowds?

Not possible.
Simply having that button exist will immediately get the game banned in Germany, potentially other nations as well, there’s several that have laws against these things.
The only way to keep the game legal in those places, is blur out, change or remove any symbolism related to it.

Then region lock the option completely in the countries that dont allow it?
That doesnt sound very difficult to do.
Just because some other people 70 years ago in a country thousands of miles away banned something doesnt mean that I want that to affect my ingame experience in my completely independent country.

What if it was a separate DLC with symbols? Would the whole game got banned or only this DLC?
VPNs would mean that the players would still be able to access it. More of a legal grey area that could result in a ban still.
Bruh I was talking about option to hide censored flags (thus see no flags) not to lift censorship.
But you are correct that I would love to see uncensored game for a change.

Well there would be an option for Germany…
They should need to do the historical educational part of Enlisted, so it could be allowed to be used, specially since the Devs wanna “realism”. Well realism in the WW2 was the overused swastikas and SS rune’s.
The most uncensored Wolfenstein games has been released from the German Index since they are count as art for an example.
It isn’t an easy task but if the devs wanna add more realism specially by using of the historical symbols well then they need to put more work on their game.

Yep, those symbols are actually allowed in many countries for artistic purposes only, alas complete removal of those flags (or option to hide them) would be enough for me if that is the best devs can do.
The problem of all this: effort. Why should i implement such code because of reason? I mean i can understand every POV in this discussion, but how about WE ask ourselves what the effort would be to implement exactly this. Its not only about pressing a button. Its either X-lines of code to prevent bugs, or the graphics for these flags as well.
